Chapter 552: Guests from Umbra

[They do not seem to be from here. I haven’t seen them before.]

Renee glanced back and forth between the Darcus and Orpheus.

[Are they guests from another kingdom?!]

Renee gasped at the thought and composed herself.

"Oh, my apologies for my rudeness. And please do not kneel. I am but maid here in the palace. Your Honors must be esteemed guests from another kingdom."

"It’s alright, my lady. Nobody’s here anyway," Darcus said despite knowing just where their spectators were.

"Please allow me to check your foot. I cannot let a young lady walk with an injured foot," he insisted, and Renee’s face turned red as she nodded.

[Kyah!! He’s so hot and pretty. I might never get a chance like this. I’ll just go with the flow.] Renee’s eyes shined.

[Her reaction to him was so much more compared to mine?!! This man is so sly. I should have been the one to do that.] Orpheus was envious but he didn’t want to let go of Renee’s body. He was still holding her.

[What should I do? Someone so hot is checking my foot while this beautiful man is still holding me. It’s rude to keep him supporting my weight but he’s such a beauty. This might be my only chance. Once I learn who they are, I would have to bow to them if they are indeed guests.]

Renee was not pushing Orpheus away either.

[Why is it working so well? I thought it wouldn’t work so effectively?] Alwin was horrified.

Renee had been stalking him like he was her life, but she was so attracted to the two so quickly.

It made Alwin feel annoyed since it was as if he was so easy to throw away. Not that he was saddened that Renee may finally stop being a bother to him.

"Thank goodness your foot was not injured," Darcus smiled and helped Renee wear her shoe again.

Darcus finally rose and Renee gasped since he was taller than Orpheus for several inches and much taller than she was.

"T-Thank you for your help," Renee finally stood on her own and bowed to the two.

"It was my pleasure," they both replied.

"May I know your name, my lady?" Orpheus inquired.

"I, I’m Renee," she stuttered.

"Renee, what a beautiful name," Orpheus smiled. He didn’t look as daunting since his eyes looked gentle.

[Red eyes? I have never seen someone with red eyes before. But he somehow feels familiar. Did I encounter him somewhere in Medeus last time? This towering man as well. I feel like I have met him before.]

"I am Darcus."

"I am Orpheus."

The two introduced themselves and hoped Evania would remember them.

"Darcus and Orpheus? I feel like I have heard those names before. What kingdom are you from, my lords?" Renee inquired.

[Have we met in Medeus during the Assembly?] Renee wondered yet again since they felt familiar to her like she had met them repeatedly.

"..."

Darcus and Orpheus glanced at each other before they replied.

"We are from an island near the continent. It’s called Umbra," they replied.

Before heading to Riva, Alwin and the two dropped by an isolated island in the western borders of Eliora that was not occupied by any kingdom since it was filled with monsters.

They made a huge castle there out of magic since Darcus and Orpheus would use it as their pretend territory and home. And they called the island Umbra to help shake Evania’s memory.

"Lord Darcus and Lord Orpheus from Umbra," Renee noted and wondered where that island could be.

[Even the name of their kingdom sounds familiar. Where have I heard it before?]

"Are you alright, my lady?" Orpheus held her hand.

"If you are still rattled from earlier, please allow me to walk with you," Darcus also held her hand.

"No, please allow me to walk with you, instead," Orpheus held her hand tighter.

"No, please choose me," Darcus did not want to be defeated.

Renee’s face turned red due to their actions.

The two were too aggressive for a first meeting but Renee seems to be happy about it.

They could barely hold back from hugging her. Her appearance was different, but they loved her anyway.

Arabella smiled. If these two cared and loved Evania truly, then she likely didn’t have to worry about her.

"I, I’m not sure if guests are allowed to enter the part of the palace where I stay," Renee did not reject their offer to walk her.

"Then, we will walk with you only until you are out of the garden," they remedied.

"If it’s alright with you, my lords," Renee pretended to still feel disoriented so they would support her.

Alwin was horrified at the scenario while Arabella was grinning in victory.

However, while the three were walking hand in hand...

{Her Shadow Energy is rising! It’s getting affected by those two.} Alwin informed.

{What should we do? Is it dangerous?} Arabella could not see it, but Renee’s aura seemed to be getting stronger.

{I’ll have them control her energy, so it won’t affect the other maids.}

Alwin then contacted the two.

{Darcus, Orpheus, use your powers to stabilize her energy. I can feel it getting stronger. It might affect the other maids so cast a spell around her, so it won’t leave her body.}

{Alright.} Darcus and Orpheus were attentive and immediately did.

They walked with Renee until she was out of the garden. But when she was about to walk on her own to return to her room, she suddenly lost consciousness.

"Evania!"

The two were in a panic and quickly caught her.

"What happened?!" Arabella glanced at Alwin.

"I don’t know. Nothing seemed wrong," Alwin frowned.

They walked where Renee was and teleported to the Magic Tower so they could check her condition without any of the normal knights seeing their guests.

Darcus and Orpheus were anxious.

But when Alwin checked her vitals, Renee had only gotten too excited to the point she passed out.

’Ah, I see. Right. She’s working for me so even though she loved pretty things including gorgeous men, she never had the chance to mingle since we were always busy,’ Arabella slowly nodded her head.

This was the only chance Renee had in a while to be close to men and they were already holding her hands from the get-go. And there were two of them.

Renee was overwhelmed.
