They even published that Evelyn’s death was suicide.

They said it was because Chester discovered that she was pregnant with their child and was about to abort it again.

He asked her to part with her lover and give birth to their child for an heir. Yet, they said Evelyn chose to die instead.

Fatima seemed determined to completely ruin Evelyn’s image among the people of Zygos.

It was probably a ploy to completely crush the Leonharts so they would not be more powerful than the Ravenhills again.

Fatima must have also been annoyed that Evelyn was still known as the fairest lady to ever grace Zygos.

Because people still had good memories of Evelyn, it made her seem like a better Queen than Fatima, so it must have been like a huge insult to her pride.

Likewise, Fatima’s insecurities had gone too deep and turned into a strong hatred to the point it almost seemed like an obsession.

"It was Chester’s fault I lost our children. Perhaps, I should go to Zygos and stop that woman from doing this. I’m doing whatever it takes to end them both. I thought, maybe it was time to go with Marcus regardless of what happens to me," Renee cried. She was overwhelmed with emotion.

Arabella was silenced when Renee said those.

It must have hurt a lot indeed to be slandered like that when she was already living her life away from them. Yet, they dare mock her suffering and spread such terrible lies about her. At official publications too.

[Those bastards! How dare they make her feel this way! They want to keep hurting and embarrassing her! I have to see those two myself and make them suffer as well.]

[I will kill those two. They just wait and see. How dare they make my Evania go through so much suffering and humiliation?! And now they were still doing it even when they thought she was already dead!]

Darcus and Orpheus were fuming with anger at Fatima and Chester whom they have never even met.

"I heard from Eunice and Aletha that Your Majesty was back, so I wanted to meet with you as soon as possible. Marcus said he would be leaving now if I still did not give my response since he was still pretending to serve Chester and needed to be present in the palace," Renee revealed.

’Why would he pressure Renee to go now? If he needed to return to the palace, he could simply return once Renee had made up her mind. She already told him she was not ready yet, but he came here to Riva anyway. How was he even able to enter with all the defenses and protective spells everyone set up?’

"Your Majesty, should I go? That woman just keeps ruining me even after I was long dead as Evelyn."

"First of all, do you even have a concrete plan on what to do once you arrive there? What about your family?" Arabella reminded.

"I don’t have a concrete plan yet, but I will work with Marcus. I was thinking of entering the palace or hiring someone to abduct Fatima. Marcus may be able to do it since he was temporarily working for Chester. They would not suspect him.

"With regards to my family, after we returned from Medeus, I told them I was surprised by the huge difference each kingdom had so I wanted to travel from one kingdom to another to observe and experience different cultures in Eliora or even beyond.

"They were against it at first. But after I repeatedly talked to them about it, they finally agreed but only if I was allowed by Your Majesty to resign from my post," Renee explained.

’I see. She had been thinking about it since the incident in Medeus.’

"But what if Marcus was actually working with Chester and they did this to get you to do their bidding? Or what if the one who sent you the letter had faked it all and was just trying to have you go to Zygos?" Arabella pointed out.

Renee froze at that.

"Then what should I do?"

"You must calm down and think things through. I cannot allow you to go to Zygos yet. Make a more concrete plan that doesn’t need to depend on Marcus first. Likewise, the people I had been waiting for to come and help you had finally arrived."

[Her Majesty was finding people to help me?!]

"Thank you, Your Majesty! Can I meet them today?" Renee asked and Darcus and Orpheus nodded their heads eagerly.

"No. I will introduce them to you when you are in a better state of mind. First, if you receive a letter from Marcus again, tell him you are not yet ready to go to Zygos so he should go back."

"Yes, Your Majesty. I will tell him that."

Renee sighed in relief when she realized she wasn’t alone in this and would be receiving some assistance.

’Since she had already told her family she wanted to travel, we could use that as the reason why she left my side. We can make it look like she followed something she wanted to do so I accepted her resignation. Then, later on, we can say she was in some kind of accident and return Renee’s body while Evania returns to Umbra.’

Arabella found a story they could follow.

She felt bad for the Marques and his family. But Renee had never been herself but Evania ever since they adopted her. They did not get the chance to meet the real Renee.

It was better for them to part before Evania did anything in Zygos.

After all, Darcus and Orpheus looked like they were very much willing to help Evania do anything.

If Evania still wanted revenge on Chester and Fatima after recovering her memories, they would surely help her.

"Uhm, Your Majesty, can I ask an unrelated question?" Renee said.

She was acting coy and had a blush on her face, so Arabella already knew what it was about.

"I haven’t seen Alwin, I mean, His Eminence for months. If he had been guarding Your Majesty, he must have returned with you, right?"

Darcus and Orpheus were wide-eyed at this and glared at Alwin.

The latter merely shrugged his shoulders so the two got even more annoyed.

"Ah, yes. It was something like that. He had a task to do so he had been away for a while. He had just returned as well and hadn’t even had the chance to rest yet," Arabella smiled.

"Oh my! Can I bring him refreshments? Or maybe, a meal? He usually eats at the palace dining hall," Renee brightened up.

’I’m sorry you two. But this is what Evania is right now. She’s into Alwin. You must try to seduce her first,’ Arabella glanced at their guests who both had dark faces.

They were delighted that Evania was at least smiling but they hated that Alwin was the reason.

[He intentionally did not tell us about this didn’t he?!]
