Chapter 532: She Saw Great Potential in You

{His and Her Majesty are explaining to Ronald and Ivan.} Rendell informed Raymond.

{Yes, Riley told me. I’d like to see that child’s reaction.} Raymond sounded like he was grinning.

[He’s back already. I thought he would visit his wife. Did he return because of this issue?] Ferdinand sensed Raymond’s presence.

"Raymond, come in," Ferdinand invited. "Oh, Riley as well. Come and show them your real appearance."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

The two then entered.

"Hi, little brother," Raymond said in a teasing manner and sat across Ronald. He seemed to have been looking forward to the day Ronald would learn the truth.

Riley, meanwhile, remained standing and removed his cloak. His beautiful long silken strands were revealed. He flicked a finger and his ears which looked the same as humans, reverted to their original appearance.

[Even the assistant of the Master of the Magic Tower is an elf?!]

Ivan and Ronald gawked.

"His Eminence, the Master of the Magic Tower is an elf as well. He is the nephew of the Former Elf King as you have heard earlier. He was taught and raised by His Majesty himself," Arabella added.

[Taught and raised by His Majesty?!]

[How? Their age is not that far apart.]

Her assistants frowned.

"I watched over him grow as well," Raymond added to further the confusion. He smiled at the look on Ivan and Ronald’s faces.

"It’s like this. His Majesty and His Excellency, along with the other long-lived races with them are older than they look.

"As I have said earlier, they are called the long-lived races because they live much longer than humans do.

"We thought they were just myths because they live in a separate place from us, humans.

"Only a few remain living with human society. And they could live to several thousand years or more," Arabella explained for the two to understand since Ferdinand skipped the details.

"S-several thousand years?!"

"Yes," Raymond grinned at Ronald’s ashen face.

’Isn’t he having too much fun in this?’ Arabella internally facepalmed. ’Shouldn’t he feel bad for the child? Look at how lost they are.’

Thankfully, Raymond was just playing around. He felt bad for the two, so he took over the explanation and revealed what they needed to know after what they had heard so far.

Arabella and Ferdinand pitched in until Ronald and Ivan understood.

"Then, is Your Majesty also among the long-lived races?" Ivan inquired.

[I was wondering about that as well. She referred to me as a child earlier. Does this mean Her Majesty is also among the long-lived races.]

"No. I am fully human. However, I also just learned today that I am the reincarnation of the Former Fairy Queen. But I do not have any of her abilities whatsoever. We just have the same soul. And all my knowledge about this was something I learned from His Majesty, His Excellency, and His Eminence," Arabella clarified.

[Thank goodness!]

Ivan sighed in relief. Grateful that someone would understand his difficulties as a human.

Meanwhile, Ronald guiltily glanced at Raymond, wanting to apologize for being distant and cold to him. And likewise for harboring all sorts of negative feelings towards him.

He felt so embarrassed after learning that Raymond was so much older, experienced, and even more capable than he originally thought. He also held an even higher position than Ronald originally thought.

"I-I’m so sorry for my past behaviors," Ronald took the courage to say it.

"It’s alright. You are young but capable. Continue improving so you can take my place when I retire," Raymond smiled and reached out to ruffle Ronald’s hair.

"T-Thank you. But that position is far too much for me," Ronald felt even more embarrassed now that he was openly treated like a kid. But he was indeed in the eyes of all these elders.

"It’s not. Her Majesty hired you because she saw great potential in you," Raymond pointed out.

Ronald glanced at Arabella, nervous about how she would respond.

"Yes, of course. I wouldn’t have hired you if you were not capable. You are already very much outstanding. Just as Ivan, Nadia, and Odette are. Keep doing your best and I’m sure you’ll reach even greater heights," Arabella encouraged.

Someone who was so courageous and determined that he refused to surrender even when Riva was breached for the first time in thousands of years was definitely remarkable and meant for greatness.

With Ronald and Ivan having been informed of what they needed to know; they were dismissed once all the questions they dared to ask were answered.

Raymond and Riley returned to Riva.

Meanwhile, Arabella and Ferdinand retired to their room.

Ferdinand’s room had become their room for now since she was still redecorating the room beside his as her room.

They always slept in the same room anyway.

"Your attention is mine now, right?" Ferdinand wrapped her in his arms.

"Yes."

"Then, can I have more of it?" He leaned in and gazed into her eyes.

She understood what he wanted.

"Please allow me to bathe first," Arabella asked.

"..." Ferdinand pouted.

[I want it now. I won’t see her for a while. I want to spend as much time together as we can before I leave.]

He was conflicted about how to respond to her when he was eager to be with her.

They would not be able to see each other for who knows how long indeed so they needed to make up for it.

’I don’t stink, right?’ Arabella sniffed at her hand arm and clothes. ’Seems fine.’

She blushed when she realized Ferdinand was looking at her.

"What are you doing?"

He chuckled, and she blushed in embarrassment.

"You never stink. What are you worried about?"

"Who knows?" Arabella countered and pouted.

"Haha. Alright. Alright. Since you are so conscious about it, then let’s take a bath together," Ferdinand suggested with a naughty grin.

[We have never done it in the bath, have we?]

"I can hear you," Arabella reminded.

"Oh, right. But don’t you think it would be good to try?" Ferdinand tempted her. He was already imagining how they would do it and Arabella could see it in his eyes.

It looked so hot in his imagination that she could not resist.

"Alright. Let’s try it," Arabella agreed, and Ferdinand grinned from ear to ear.

"Then, without further ado, let’s go," Ferdinand embraced her and simply teleported them to the bath.
