Chapter 1010: Chapter 1010: Seeing Live Bears in the Forest

"They do?!" Arabella looked around and did not notice anything different.

"Yes, they do.

It’s not yet that easily spotted since they have only absorbed small amounts.

Likewise, we are using spells to prevent too much of our mana from leaking out.

We have also trained to hold it in so we won’t cause drastic changes to our surroundings.

But if we keep visiting this same location, the changes will be more observable," Ferdinand clarified.

"I see," Arabella nodded as she glanced at the plants.

Slight change was observable to Ferdinand and the others who had trained eyes. But to her, the plants did not seem different from when they just arrived here.

"The flowers in the garden beside your room have better blooms because they absorb some of your mana every night," Ferdinand cited as an example for her to understand it more easily.

"My mana?" Arabella tilted her in surprise at the mention of hers. "Isn’t it your mana that they absorb?"

"They absorb some of my mana too but mine don’t make flowers bloom so beautifully.

My mana will only make them grow more quickly," Ferdinand said.

’Right. If his mana does, then the whole Imperial Palace ground and even beyond might be full of blooming flowers.’

Arabella recalled that Ferdinand’s and the other long-lived races’ mana were insanely high.

From what she understood with magic so far from Ferdinand and Alwin’s explanations to her, they affect their surroundings based on their affinities.

Even their mood could affect it like how Alvis’ mana caused thorny weeds to grow when he arrived in an infuriated state.

Emitted mana also has a different effect from one that directly comes from the body like how Alwin’s mana-rich blood caused a beneficial tree with healing properties

Ferdinand had a varied affinity so his mana could have various effects.

As for hers, ’Ah, right... Isn’t it freely leaking out? I don’t know how to hold it in or whatnot.’

Ferdinand was holding in his while hers must be just flowing freely.

"Your mana is so compatible with flowers that they have been blooming so nicely since you came."

"Isn’t it because you have assigned someone to take care of the garden properly?" Arabella inquired.

"That is one reason indeed. But they equally tend to all the gardens in the palace to ensure all parts with flowers bloom nicely.

I have also asked Alwin and the others whose mana are friendlier with plants to take check on them from time to time.

But the spot right outside your room still always has more flowers and blooms more beautifully than other areas.

I thought they were slacking off on the other areas, so I decided to check.

And that’s when I noticed the difference was your mana.

Your family also said the plants near your bedroom always bloomed best.

Your mana is compatible with flowers, perhaps as much as you love them."

"I-I see... I didn’t know that.

I did notice there was a difference with the flowers.

Maybe, it’s because I love them so much. Haha," Arabella laughed awkwardly in the end.

She did not want to dwell on this topic since Ferdinand might begin to suspect her excessive relationship with flowers.

If he decided to check, he might learn she was the reincarnation of the former fairy queen. It shouldn’t be a bad thing. But the identity of the reincarnation of the former fairy king might make things complicated.

She didn’t want to create another source of insecurity for Ferdinand when he had finally begun to be more confident in himself as her husband and their relationship.

Ferdinand had finally gotten over feeling insecure of Prince Andrew. There was no need for someone else to make him feel insecure again.

Arabella wanted to change the topic so she looked around to find something else to discuss.

"!!!"

Arabella was wide-eyed when she saw something she did not expect.

She immediately covered her mouth so she wouldn’t scream and ran straight behind.

"What is it?!"

Ferdinand was alarmed at the look on her face and immediately rose as well, protectively wrapping an arm around her, ready to whisk her away from here.

Arabella gladly clung to him.

Ferdinand followed her gaze and instead of becoming more alert, he relaxed.

"Ah, they’re finally here," he said calmly when he saw the bears walking to the pond.

"You mean, this was part of the plan?" Arabella frowned.

"Yes. Don’t worry, they don’t even know we are here," Ferdinand assured her.

Arabella blinked twice and blushed in embarrassment when she realized he was right.

There were several bears heading to the pond and two had begun drinking. They looked quite imposing and dangerous even if they did resemble to some extent the cute toy bears she had seen.

She wanted to return to her seat but glancing at the bears again, she still clung to Ferdinand.

[Haha. She’s so adorable.]

Ferdinand silently laughed at her so she gave him a glare.

"I’m not making fun of you," Ferdinand raised both hands as if in surrender. "I just found your reaction adorable."

"Really? Isn’t this making fun of me?" Arabella pouted.

Somehow, the bears were not so scary anymore.

"Not at all. You did well. You should indeed come to me immediately if you sense danger. If I’m not around, you can summon Alwin or speak to me through our ring," Ferdinand said.

"Right. Of course, I will," Arabella responded. She would not carelessly risk her life either.

"Good," Ferdinand patted her head.

"I’m not a child."

"I know."

[She immediately ran to my side and hid behind me. I’m glad she trusts me enough with her safety for her first reaction to be like this.] Ferdinand smiled.

’Of course. I never doubted your strength.’

Ferdinand’s strength was something she had witnessed since her past life.

And now that she knew she’s someone important to him, she knew he would indeed protect her.

Since she could hear his thoughts, she knew he always worried about her first.

But now that she thought about it, she must have indeed looked funny hiding behind his back when there’s a sturdy barrier around them.

She panicked when she saw the bears and forgot all about the barrier.
