It was more than enough to spark the fire.

Ferdinand kissed her back, revealing the hunger that hadn’t subsided yet. He was holding back indeed.

Arabella missed him too, and she could not sleep anyway. Thus, she did her best to keep up with his stamina, and they did it over and over again until she passed out.

When Arabella woke up, she could hear the birds singing outside.

Ferdinand was no longer in bed either. He must have gone to attend the morning Court Sessions as he promised yesterday.

The curtains were still shut, so she got up to open them.

There was a robe ready for her on the bedside table, so she picked it up.

She walked to the full-body mirror nearby, still naked, and checked her body.

There was not a single mark left of Ferdinand’s bites and kisses from last night. There was no soreness between her legs either.

It was as if everything that happened yesterday was nothing but a dream.

"Or was it?!"

Arabella was wide-eyed and looked around the room.

She sighed in relief when she saw that she was indeed in Ferdinand’s room and not hers.

’He must have had someone heal me then. Or did he do it himself?’

Ferdinand could now use magic spells here, but only what was allowed by Elrond as per the rules.

Arabella recalled Ferdinand saying he would ask Elrond to allow him to be able to use healing magic, even if just for one person. For Arabella, so he could heal her himself when necessary.

Perhaps Elrond had agreed, and Ferdinand healed her since she did not hear anyone else enter the room.

’Or was I simply so sound asleep?’

They did do it until she passed out after all.

A smile crossed her lips as she thought about last night.

Ferdinand was as vigorous as ever. They did it so many times. She enjoyed it all to make up for the time they were apart.

’Ah, and before that, he even taught me how to float on water!’

Now that she could float, Arabella felt a bit more courageous. Next time they had time to be together again, she decided to ask Ferdinand to teach her how to swim.

They could simply hire a teacher for this, but she knew she would not feel at ease with a teacher like she did with Ferdinand.

If he were the one to teach her, maybe she would learn. And perhaps, in the future, she would not have to fear deep waters so much again.

Arabella wore the robe and walked to the windows.

She opened the curtain a bit and immediately covered her eyes.

The sun was too bright for her just-woke-up eyes.

The sun was indeed already high up in the sky.

Ferdinand must have had the curtains remain shut so she could sleep as long as she needed without waking up due to the light.

"I should take a bath and get dressed," Arabella said as she decided to go to her room.

She ran her hand through her hair and brought a handful to her nose.

She still smelled of Ferdinand’s shampoo.

Arabella somehow felt bad that she would shift back to her shampoo now.

Ferdinand said that the scent of his shampoo and soaps on her was different but delightful. And it was alluring for him that she was covered in scents supposed to be his.

He still preferred her usual scent, though.

As Arabella was about to leave his bedroom, she noticed that the books on the lower shelves were already gone.

Ferdinand must have had it returned or discarded them while she was asleep.

’Thank goodness. I’d rather he doesn’t get weird ideas from those books,’ Arabella sighed in relief.

She had seen a lot of those books that she would never dare do and would never allow even if Ferdinand begged her to do it.

Thus, it was better that he didn’t get interested in those activities.

Arabella had a smile on her face as she walked out of Ferdinand’s bedroom.

"Good morning, Your Majesty!" Aletha and Eunice greeted her.

"Oh my, have you been waiting long?" Arabella inquired.

"Not at all," Aletha and Eunice said, but she heard from their thoughts that they had been here for an hour

Thankfully, they were allowed inside Ferdinand’s outer room, so they were at least seated the whole time.

They had towels and clothes ready for her.

Arabella cleansed a bit before they helped her get into the dress.

Her room was just across Ferdinand’s, but since their rooms were too wide, there was a long walk before she could get inside her room, so it was best to get dressed properly before going out.

Rendell was guarding outside, too.

All sorts of rumors might circulate if someone heard she walks around with just a robe on.

Once back in her room. Arabella had a long bath and got dressed.

Her maids dressed her up more than usual since they knew Ferdinand was around.

They did ensure she looked her best every day, but they were even more careful in their preparations when Ferdinand was present.

If he’s not around, they ensured Arabella looked regal and imposing so other nobles would not look down on her because she was alone. Thus, they make her look more mature and older than her age. It was also so that men wouldn’t approach her because Ferdinand was not around.

If Ferdinand was present, they ensured she looked more on the adorable and pretty side, especially if they would not be working together and would be out on a date or just the usual.

Her maids were even more serious about it after they heard rumors of Ferdinand possibly getting a concubine because Arabella was not pregnant yet, and it had almost been a year since they got married.

The "late Empress" got pregnant within a year, so some people were thinking that the problem may be with Arabella and not Ferdinand’s side.

Since, as far as the people knew, the Emperor’s bloodline was always able to father children.
