Chapter 1006: Chapter 1006: You Can Fly Too

Arabella took several deep breaths and closed her eyes to relax.

When she felt calm enough, she stared at the ceiling as Ferdinand said.

She lifted one finger of the pool one after the other slowly and did not dare make any extra moves.

Her heart was racing as she thought she would sink again, but this time, she didn’t.

"Am I floating?" she asked Ferdinand with a frown on her face.

Ferdinand smiled proudly and said, "Yes, you’re doing well!"

Arabella tried several more times after that and succeeded 7 out of 10.

The three times she failed were when she got distracted.

She was already delighted with seven successes, though. And she finally understood how to do it, so she won’t sink.

Thus, when Ferdinand said, "Are you alright now? Can I float too?"

"Yes, but please pick me up quickly if I get distracted again," Arabella was no longer as scared as when she first tried.

"Of course," Ferdinand smiled and floated parallel to her without disturbing the water too much, so she wouldn’t panic.

"How does it feel?" Ferdinand asked as they floated side by side.

"It feels good and relaxing indeed. It feels like freedom," Arabella smiled.

Too good that she regretted not learning it much earlier.

It almost felt like all her fears were for naught.

But she knew she could only be this confident because Ferdinand was by her side.

She knew he would save her if she failed.

She would not have been able to relax enough to be able to learn today if he were not here, ready to catch her.

"Indeed. This is what it feels like to fly on a calm day," Ferdinand commented.

"Really? It makes me want to try flying, too. Haha," Arabella joked.

"You can learn that too someday. After some time with me, you’ll be able to grow wings like mine," Ferdinand said, and Arabella was too shocked by his words that she lost her balance.

Ferdinand quickly picked her up.

"What do you mean? You were kidding, right?"

Arabella was too astounded to believe it.

"I’m not. Elrond’s and the others’ mates have learned to fly now," Ferdinand revealed.

"This is the first time I have heard of this. Do you mean wings like yours will grow on my back, or is it simply something made with magic but not real wings? Or do you mean to use flight magic spells?"

Arabella asked for clarification in case she was misunderstanding things.

"You will be able to grow wings on your back. Literally. But only if you want. It’s your choice..." Ferdinand assured her that she didn’t need to if she didn’t want it.

Arabella thought about it and imagined herself having wings like the wings she saw on Ferdinand last time.

She imagined the two of them standing side by side, then taking off and flying in the sky together.

It’s like something out of a romance fairy tale, but it’s a possibility to her now.

It felt so romantic to be able to see the world from the same perspective.

"I think I like it! I mean, I’d love to. I’ll do my best to learn flying so we can fly together," Arabella said with determined eyes.

[She’s too adorable! I’m so glad she’s my wife!]

Ferdinand was delighted by her response and kissed her forehead.

They did it one last time in the pool before they drained it and returned to the showers to clean up once again.

Arabella insisted they do it individually this time, or else they would never be able to leave the bath.

After drying up, they got some robes from his dressing room.

"Will we sleep in your room? Or would you like to try my bed?" Ferdinand inquired after he used a magic tool to dry her hair.

"I want to try your bed."

They always slept in her room, so she wanted to try his room and bed this time.

"Alright, my bedroom then," Ferdinand said.

"Let me dry your hair too," Arabella said, making Ferdinand sit so she could dry his hair.

When both of them had dried and combed their hair, they walked hand in hand to his bedroom.

The bed was so wide that and could fit several people in it.

She thought Ferdinand would try to have one more round before sleeping, but he didn’t and simply made her lie down and covered her with the sheets.

He lay beside her and did not do anything else.

"Good night," Ferdinand kissed her forehead and hugged her the way he usually did as they slept.

’Is he worried that I’m already tired?’ Arabella wondered.

She did feel tired after they did it several times earlier, but dipping in the pool and bathing again helped her relax and recover.

She could go for more if he wanted to.

However, Ferdinand had already said "goodnight."

He seemed ready to sleep as well.

Arabella then said, "Good night."

She hugged him back and closed her eyes. She thought she would be able to sleep, but she tossed and turned instead.

The memories she recalled today bothered her, and she could not sleep. She thought it had left her mind after the good memories they had just made, but it returned to her once the lights were off and she was not thinking of anything else.

"Is the bed too hard? We can move to your room if you can’t sleep on this bed," Ferdinand offered.

"It’s fine. It’s just..." Arabella sighed deeply as she recalled that she could not tell him. "My thoughts are racing, so I can’t sleep. Maybe, I should try reading some of your educational books until I feel sleepy."

"Aren’t you tired?" Ferdinand said as he caressed her hair.

"I was. But I think I recovered from the hot water."

[If she has recovered, then maybe, we can do it again... No, no, no. What am I thinking about again?]

Ferdinand suddenly had an idea on how to spend the time. However, he stopped his thoughts immediately.

"It’s alright, we can do it again," Arabella said and smiled at the look on his face. "Rather, let’s do it until I pass out."

"A-Are you sure?" Ferdinand gulped.

"Yes," Arabella replied and kissed him on the lips.

It was more than enough to spark the fire.
