Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System
Chapter 152: The Battle (3)

Chapter 152: The Battle (3)

The masked person shot through the sky, his figure streaking like a shadow across the clouds. As he reached the range of the battlefield, he bypassed a town—its aura weak and trembling. Countless fragile signatures drifted from within, though a few stronger presences lingered. Still, to him... they were mere weaklings.

As he neared the site of the clash, the violent fluctuations abruptly ceased. A subtle smile curved his lips.

He had been discovered.

He no longer bothered hiding himself—that truth alone made it inevitable.

Drakion and the Five Element Dragon raised their gazes as they sensed the approach. An unknown figure now floated above, high in the sky.

His hair was split—half golden, half black, flowing like threads of fate torn between creation and destruction. His eyes were unsettling: reddish white and blackish white, glowing with profound mystery.

The young man surveyed the battlefield, locking eyes with Drakion in his matured form, and the Five Element Dragon inhabiting Elemarion’s body. His gaze briefly flicked toward Kaidros and the others, pausing—lingering—as a strange sense of familiarity surged within him.

He was sensitive to auras... and these beings—

They were dragons.

His lips curled upward, delighted.

But then his eyes met Drakion’s—those divine, terrifying eyes.

Golden eyeball. Black eyeball.

Golden fang. Black fang.

Twin pupils bound by a devouring halo.

A chill ran down his spine.

Goosebumps.

He turned toward the Five Element Dragon, who now scrutinized him with deep concentration. The young man’s presence couldn’t be masked—he could clearly see two souls residing within that body.

And when he peered into the dragon soul, realization struck.

He had uncovered its identity.

The Five Element Dragon’s eyes widened. He stood there, shocked—genuinely stunned. Then... a flicker of delight bloomed on his face, followed by a soft, slow smile.

Drakion, meanwhile, kept his gaze locked on the newcomer. He could feel it too—that ancient, threatening aura. It resonated faintly with his own.

This young man...

He whispered of danger.

"It seems," the Five Element Dragon said, voice low, "that the Progenitor left a backup."

The young man slowly floated down toward the ground. But the Five Element Dragon raised his gaze to the sky, his expression turning solemn.

"It seems they didn’t survive..."

The Progenitor Dragons had once told the First Dragons they were embarking on a journey—one from which they might never return. The survivors had waited in hope... until the Dragon Eater’s calamity fell upon them.

That was when they understood.

That was the being the Progenitor Dragons had gone to face.

"It seems there are still surviving dragons," the young man said with a soft smile as he finally reached the ground. His eyes scanned Kaidros and the others—his presence pressing down lightly on Ski and Kaidros, both of whom carried formidable auras.

Then, his gaze returned to Drakion.

Within Drakion, he felt it.

The lingering will of the Progenitor Dragon.

A deep, ancient power.

"It seems... he’s the Dragon Emperor," the young man murmured.

The Five Element Dragon nodded slowly, his eyes remaining fixed on Drakion—who now stood fully alert, wariness flaring like a drawn blade between both of them.

When the young man saw this, he chuckled, his gaze fixed on Drakion.

"I was looking for the Dragon Emperor," he said, his voice amused, "but I never thought I’d fight him on our first meeting."

"So, what’s the take?" the young man added with a smile, turning his eyes once more toward Drakion.

The Five Element Dragon gave a brief summary of the events that had transpired. As the words settled, the young man’s smile faded into a frown. His eyes narrowed on Drakion.

He scrutinized him—peering deep into his being.

What he found was...

A cosmos of blood.

A sea of killing intent.

It shocked him—but as if by accident, he touched something buried within Drakion that caused the killing intent to surge.

ROAR!

An ancient, primordial roar erupted from Drakion’s soul—so deafening, so powerful—it shook the bloodlines of the Five Element Dragon and the others.

Everyone trembled...

Except for the young man.

The Five Element Dragon watched silently... then smiled.

"It seems I was right," he said quietly. "You are a Progenitor Dragon Heir."

"But I wonder... which Progenitor Dragon?"

"You’ll find out in a moment," the young man replied, a soft chuckle escaping his lips, his voice laced with mystery.

Suddenly, the Originat in the area stirred.

Then came the horns—ancient, obsidian-black horns that seemed to devour the very heavens.

Black scales spread across Drakion’s body, each one swirling like a miniature Devouring Vortex.

His breathing grew thunderous, each inhale and exhale like a storm breaking through silence.

His eyes shifted again—

Draconic, transcendent.

Eyeballs of divine transformation.

A vast, domineering aura erupted from Drakion. It poured forth with killing intent so massive, so absolute, that nature itself reacted.

The winds turned wild, spiraling into whirlwind.

Kaidros, Ski, and Mia all dropped to their knees, their bodies trembling.

It wasn’t just their bloodline that shook—

Their willpower wasn’t strong enough to withstand it.

Quin fared better—but even he felt his Draconic traits trembling, unsettled to the core.

As for the Five Element Dragon—

His bloodline stirred.

Uneasy. Unstable.

The young man observed the changes and smiled, glancing at the Five Element Dragon.

"Do your best to conserve your energy," he said, "You’re a remnant soul after all."

"Let me test the power of the Dragon Emperor... this is a battle between Progenitor Heirs."

His voice echoed, sharp and domineering.

Then, the young man stepped forward.

In that instant, Drakion vanished—

Devouring Space wrapped around his figure, and he was gone like a shadow fading into dusk.

The young man smiled calmly.

He raised his palm... as if preparing to grasp something unseen.

And then, in a blink—Drakion’s fist appeared, driving toward him.

Yet it was already caught—

Suspended in the young man’s open hand.

Everyone watching reeled in disbelief—

Except the Five Element Dragon.

But then the young man’s expression shifted—eyes wide with surprise.

Before anyone could react, Drakion’s leg shot out from behind him—

A strike from the shadows.

And the Drakion the young man had caught—

Was a faint image.

The young man somersaulted backward in one smooth, fluid motion, landing gracefully.

He rose, eyes narrowing as he looked at the real Drakion now standing before him.

"It seems one can’t underestimate you," he said with a faint smile.

He casually reached for his robe, adjusting it.

But then...

A massive aura erupted from him—

Violent. Deep. Unyielding.
