Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System
Chapter 151: The Battle (2)

Chapter 151: The Battle (2)

Immediately, the moment the eyes of the Devouring Soul evolved and changed, Drakion’s eye felt as though it were set ablaze. He gripped his head, screaming in agony, his roar laced with pain that echoed through the forest. The Five Element Dragon and the others looked on, their faces clouded with confusion—and a growing sense of unease.

The Five Element Dragon narrowed his gaze at Drakion. Until now, none of them had truly understood what had driven Drakion to this maddened state.

Then, suddenly, they saw blood drip onto the earth.

Their eyes widened.

Drakion was crying—but what poured from his eyes wasn’t tears. It was blood. Thick, warm, and ominous. The Five Element Dragon’s gaze instinctively shifted to Drakion’s eyes—and an icy chill crept through his spine.

There were no longer just fangs.

There were now two fangs, joined by a circular halo—one in each eye.

His left eye bore a black eyeball with a golden circle, connecting two golden fangs.

His right eye displayed a golden eyeball with a black circle, connecting two black fangs.

The twin eyes pulsed with an abyssal stillness, their gaze heavy with hunger—ominous, ancient, forbidden.

They felt like twin abysses, gazing into which meant gazing into oblivion itself.

The Five Element Dragon instinctively took a step back, eyes locked warily on Drakion.

But it was too late for hesitation.

Drakion’s new eyes stared directly at him.

The Five Element Dragon struck first, unleashing a powerful beam of five-colored light. The attack tore through space, heading straight for Drakion like divine judgment.

And then—his left eye stirred.

The circle began to spin. The two golden fangs rotated alongside it.

In the blink of an eye, the beam of light vanished—absorbed entirely by the spinning fang.

Shock thundered across the Five Element Dragon’s face.

He launched another wave of attacks—dozens, in rapid succession. Each one laced with elemental fury. But no matter how potent, every single strike was devoured by the Abyssal Devouring Eye.

Fang of Hunger—

This was the power of the second fang.

The Five Element Dragon’s expression darkened. With a roar, he invoked the Five Element Law at full force, slamming it toward Drakion with overwhelming might. Trees shattered. Explosions rang out like thunder across the forest.

Drakion responded in kind. Though his mastery over the Five Element Law was still growing, it surged forth with a force nearly equal to the Five Element Dragon’s own.

The shock of that truth rippled through the elder dragon’s mind. How...?

The two elemental forces collided—Five Element Law against Five Element Law.

Trees disintegrated to ash.

The ground ruptured, carved apart like torn cloth.

Even water from distant springs evaporated, sucked dry.

It felt like the aftermath of doomsday had arrived early.

Though the Five Element Dragon had originally planned not to expose themselves, their clash had broken all limits. Their battle had been felt—seen—heard—by the entire region.

From Bestial Town to the farthest edge of the surrounding lands, people turned their eyes toward the origin of the disturbance.

The strong sensed the fluctuation of law and shuddered. They wondered what force could bring about such a storm of power.

Far away, a masked man, on his way across the land, paused and frowned.

He felt it too.

The power of both figures... had transcended the world.

And yet, the world held strong.

Why?

Because this world stood on the foundation of a peak realm. It was no ordinary place—it was a fragment of the Origin Dragon Continent.

And that foundation alone allowed it to withstand the monstrous collision of these two titans.

But as they fought, they remained unaware of the consequences.

The World Consciousness stirred.

The Heavenly Dao awakened.

Something ancient had been triggered.

The limits of the world loosened, subtly, ominously.

And from all corners, Originat began to surge—richer, deeper, and more potent in both quality and quantity.

But most people didn’t notice the changes in Originat.

Drakion stretched his right hand to the side. The Death Reaper emerged in his grasp, taking the form of a sword. Originat surged through his veins and into the blade as he unleashed a fearsome strike—Devourer Strike.

A black sword slash tore through space, roaring toward the Five Element Dragon. But the dragon didn’t falter. He unsheathed a spear radiating Five-Colored light, and countered without hesitation.

With fluid precision, he controlled his spear, thrusting it forward. The impact shattered the black sword slash—yet the strike didn’t end there. The spear aimed directly for Drakion’s heart.

Suddenly, Drakion’s black fang reverted back to one.

In that instant, the Five Element Dragon’s eyes widened. He sensed the disturbance—the essence of his spear had been devoured. Only one percent, but still... even that minuscule amount sent a shiver down his spine.

He knew the spear’s power.

He knew its rank.

And still—it had been touched.

Fang of Matterbane—this was the first fang’s ability.

Only after the awakening of the second fang did the first one reveal its true power.

The battle raged on, and though the Five Element Dragon still stood strong, he could feel the pressure mounting. His restraint was beginning to wear thin.

Of course, Drakion was still but a child before him—someone he could discipline with a flick, a slap. But there were reasons holding him back.

First—Drakion’s identity as the Progenitor Dragon Heir.

Second—his son’s body couldn’t withstand the full breadth of his power.

Third—the world itself was far too fragile to bear it.

Bound by these limitations, the Five Element Dragon found himself locked in a stalemate with Drakion.

As he wrestled with his thoughts, he suddenly felt it—an aura.

Faint at first, but fast. Moving rapidly through the space within his range.

It wouldn’t take even a minute for the figure to arrive.

Drakion felt it too. He froze, gaze sharp, and both of them turned toward the direction of the incoming presence.

A/N: I hope you can clearly imagine how the Abyssal Devouring Eye looks—if not, you may use the Sharingan from Naruto as a loose visual reference. However, note that the eyeball itself is not white, but either golden or black, and instead of tomoe, the Devouring Eye is marked by fangs.
