Chapter 149: Lifetimes of Pain, Suffering and Sorrow (9)
SWOOSH!
Quinn stared in disbelief at the small fist lodged deep into his chest. His eyes slowly lifted—
To Drakion.
A being now drenched in overwhelming killing intent, his entire aura screaming carnage.
Drakion slowly pulled his fist back from Quinn’s chest—
Yet... no blood spilled.
That was when Quinn remembered.
He wasn’t truly alive.
He was a projection—
A summoned remnant of the past.
This body wasn’t real flesh and blood.
There would be no fatal damage.
Quinn quickly leapt backward, coming to a halt beside the Five Element Dragon.
The mighty dragon, too, dragged the other warriors to his side.
Together, they glared toward Drakion—
Eyes narrowed, bodies tense, caution etched into every breath.
Then...
The unexpected happened.
Just as they prepared for Drakion to attack again,
He... staggered.
A pained roar ripped through the battlefield.
His hands clutched his head—
His body trembled, his soul howled.
From him surged waves of agony—
Not physical pain, but something deeper.
Despair.
Desolation.
Sorrow.
A grief carved over 9,999 lifetimes.
Ding!
[Detecting: Host’s Killing Intent has increased by 9,999%. Searching for feasible containment method. (─.─||)]
Ding!
[Warning: Host’s current body cannot withstand this level of killing intent. Searching for alternate solution...]
Ding!
[Solution Found: Enlarging Host’s physical body to the stature of a young man.]
A blinding surge of aura burst from Drakion’s body.
Powerful.
Monstrous.
Overwhelming.
All others present—
Except for Quinn and the Five Element Dragon—
Collapsed to their knees, unable to withstand the suffocating pressure.
What had once felt like a universe of blood now surged into a cosmic ocean of carnage—
A galaxy forged from pain, forged from killing intent cultivated over millennia.
Outside the battlefield...
Panic had already begun to spread.
The skies...
Were crimson red.
Not the hue of twilight or storm—
But the color of blood itself.
A suffocating dread crept into every heart, making the very air feel like needles piercing the skin.
But what they didn’t know was this—
They would have all perished...
Had the Origin Heavenly Dao not intervened—
Containing the killing intent that threatened to consume existence.
Elsewhere...
A lone, unknown young man made his way toward Bestial Town—
And suddenly froze.
His eyes locked onto the sky.
That terrible, impossible red.
Unlike others,
He saw its source.
Chills slithered down his spine.
"What kind of being possesses such murderous will..." he whispered, voice quivering with disbelief.
He turned toward Bestial Town, drawn by the monstrous pressure that was centered there.
And without hesitation,
He continued onward,
Determined to witness whatever horror had birthed such power.
Back on the field...
The Five Element Dragon and the others stared at Drakion.
The killing intent had shrouded him completely, a cloak of silent doom pressing down upon them.
Even now, his massive aura still suppressed them—as if heaven itself bowed to him.
Then— The aura finally cleared.
Drakion stood revealed.
But what they saw chilled their bones.
His eyes—
The Abyssal Devouring Eyes.
His left eye—a black eyeball with a golden halo fang.
His right eye—a golden eyeball with a black halo fang.
Twin abysses, forged from hunger, rage, and endless death.
And then—
He raised his hand.
Before they could even react—
They were trapped.
A shimmering barrier surrounded them, swallowing everything.
The walls pulsed.
They weren’t just trapping them.
They were devouring them.
This was the Devourer Barrier.
The Five Element Dragon frowned as it saw this.
"This is going to be a hassle."
He turned to his son.
"Elemarion, it seems I’ll have to borrow your body... just for a bit."
When Elem heard this, he wasn’t foolish.
He understood.
His father would never harm him.
And given the dire situation they were in—
He didn’t hesitate.
Immediately, the Five Element Dragon entered Elemarion’s body.
And as Elemarion’s eyes opened...
They no longer belonged to a boy.
They shimmered with the passing of time and ancient life—
His aura transformed, swelling with an overwhelming, domineering presence.
With one small hand raised, he clenched the void—
And in the next instant, the Devourer Barrier shattered like fragile glass.
Because the First Five Element Dragon existed only in soul form,
His true power was restrained.
He couldn’t unleash his full strength.
But Elemarion—
His son, his bloodline—
Was the perfect vessel.
Still...
This world had limitations—
Even gods couldn’t go beyond its rules.
The bloodstained Drakion saw this transformation,
And his gaze locked on the newly-possessed Elemarion.
There it was—
A dangerous aura.
A threat.
Without warning—
Drakion vanished.
But the Five Element Dragon didn’t flinch.
He punched—
Aimed at the space where Drakion would reappear—
And his fist collided with Drakion the moment he re-emerged.
Boom!
Drakion instinctively countered,
His senses screaming danger as their fists clashed—
The impact reverberated through the entire building.
Walls trembled.
Floors cracked.
And the inn shook violently without pause.
The Five Element Dragon didn’t waste a breath.
He raised his hand and conjured a sturdy barrier,
One that immediately stabilized the structure,
Halting the trembling.
Meanwhile, the people in the inn were lost in confusion.
Fighting—
Inside the inn?
Impossible. Forbidden.
But the tremors...
The aura...
Something was happening.
They tried to locate the source.
But no matter how they searched,
They could not find where the battle was taking place.
Their methods were too ordinary.
The inn’s manager was overwhelmed.
To barge into every room—over a hundred of them—Would violate the privacy of guests.
He knew it would spark fury.
And so, unsure of what to do—He waited.
Until the shaking stopped.
And in that stillness, He exhaled.
Calm returned...
Or so he believed.
Back within the hidden battle chamber of the inn,
Drakion and the Five Element Dragon had already exchanged over a hundred moves.
Drakion attacked wildly,
His bloodlust growing sharper with every strike.
Yet the more he fought—
The stronger he became.
His power only surged.
The Five Element Dragon narrowed his eyes.
He extended his hands forward—
And at that moment,
The five elemental Originat trembled.
They surged toward him.
Fire.
Water.
Wind.
Earth.
Wood.
All five elements obeyed.
The Five Element Dragon raised his palm, and a five-colored beam of light formed within his grasp. With a swift motion, he launched the radiant beam toward Drakion.
Drakion, who had been surging forward in attack, was engulfed by the beam as it struck. The brilliant light devoured his form, and for a moment, everyone was blinded by the sheer force of the assault.
Quin’s eyes locked onto the attack, watching intently as Drakion’s figure was seemingly absorbed into oblivion.
But then—when everything settled, and the blinding radiance faded—they were stunned. Drakion stood there, his figure untouched, unscathed. A barrier shimmered before him, still radiating power.
All of the attack had been absorbed by that barrier, and their hearts trembled in disbelief at what they witnessed.
As they turned their gaze toward the Five Element Dragon, the Devourer Barrier began to glow ominously—it was absorbing Originat.
When the Five Element Dragon noticed this, a wave of shock crossed his face. He quickly extended both hands, and five-colored Originat surged forth, weaving a defensive construct around him.
Then, the Devourer Barrier retaliated—releasing a colossal beam of energy toward the Five Element Dragon and the others. It crashed violently against the defenses he had erected...
The entire building trembled beneath the collision, the protective barrier wrapped around it starting to crack. The manager, already overwhelmed, was fuming—rage and confusion swelled within him as the sacred rules of combat were blatantly defied.
The Five Element Dragon took notice. He knew continuing the clash here would draw unwanted attention—something he wished to avoid.
"Quin, what’s the closest forest around here?" he asked, his voice cold and commanding.
Quin gave a sharp nod, quickly relaying the coordinates of the Bestial Forest. When the Five Element Dragon heard this, he nodded in silence—and in the next breath, unleashed a crushing pressure that surged through the air.
He had been restraining himself to avoid destroying the building—but now, that restraint faded. He released a fraction of his true power.
Across the entirety of Bestial Town, the pressure was felt—vast and immeasurable—yet curiously, it inflicted no harm. It was a warning... a herald.
The townsfolk looked up in awe as a five-colored rainbow stretched across the sky, flowing from the heart of the town toward the distant forest. Gasps echoed, and many felt an overwhelming richness—the essence of the five elements.
But none could have guessed... that within that radiant arc traveled the Five Element Dragon and Drakion.
The moment he released his pressure, the beam of Originat fired by the Devourer Barrier shattered into nothingness. Then—without warning—the Five Element Dragon vanished from his place.
When his form reappeared, he had already seized Drakion midair. They soared through the sky, a blur of motion. Alongside them, he carried Quin, Kaidros, Mia, and Ski—heading toward the depths of the Bestial Forest, where he could unleash his power freely... without restraint.
