Rebirth to take revenge -
Chapter 61: Heir
Chapter 61: Heir
"A married woman? interesting" For me, it’s a new challenge. He flashed a wicked smile, and his interest in Claire grew stronger. I want to see what you have to resist me" With that, he stepped on the gas and headed straight for the Western Medical Clinic "Looking for me?" he asked. Claire blushed and nodded,
"Why did you go inside?" Alex smiled faintly and walked out, "Isn’t this office for consultations?"
"I’m sitting outside; won’t it affect you?" She suddenly realized that it wasn’t because she was afraid of being affected, but because Alex also needed a quiet place to handle his work. She nodded gently and said softly, "The rest area is soundproof, I don’t need it, you can work in there peacefully."
Alex nodded slightly, reached Out and touched her hair "Good work Director Smith."
Claire bit her lip and nodded. Seeing her so gentle and obedient, Alex felt a little strange in his heart, but before he could delve deeper, he heard a knock on the door outside the rest area. Claire turned around and asked,
"Who is it?"
"It’s me, Director Smith." Outside the door, the little nurse spoke softly. Claire glanced at Alex although she didn’t speak, her meaning was clear. Alex pursed his lips and reluctantly withdrew his hand, turning his head to walk into the lounge. After the door of the lounge closed, Claire spoke up, "Come in."
The nurse pushed the door open and entered, looking nervous. "Director Smith, something’s wrong. Dr. Anna didn’t come today."
Claire calmly nodded and said, "From now on, just pretend she never existed,"
"But..." she hesitated. "What about the medicine for the patient with the surname Miller?"
Claire smiled meaningfully and said, "When it’s time for him to take the medicine, I think she’ll show up."
Upon hearing this, Alice the nurse seemed to understand but not really,
and just nodded. "Oh."
Claire was amused by her naive look and showed a reassuring smile.
"Don’t worry, I will be at the clinic every day during this period."
"As long as you do your job well, "I will take care of everything else."
Alice looked at Claire and felt a sense of inexplicable comfort. Blushing, she said, "Yes!
Director, I won’t let you down!"
After saying that, she left with great enthusiasm. Watching her back, Claire smiled lightly. Although Alice’s job skills were not strong, as the saying goes, practice makes perfect.
As Alice with her personality, Claire felt like she had hit the jackpot. She also had the patience to wait for the day when she would become the leader. However, with only her and Alice working at the clinic, it was still a bit difficult. Even if they didn’t hire doctors to see patients, they still needed to find some like Alice’s to help Anna with dispensing and preparing medicine.
Claire sighed and opened the recruitment website again, posting information about the clinic’s need for Alice’s. After that, she immersed herself in her work for the day.
As Claire had predicted, Anna appeared during Jack’s medication time. She walked into the clinic with her high heels and a new designer bag slung over her shoulder, not even stopping at the time clock as she passed by.
Alice was initially surprised to see Anna, but then remembered that Claire was in charge and didn’t pay much attention, focusing on her work instead. Anna felt embarrassed when nobody pay attention to her and walked to her former office, only to find that her name plate had been removed.
She was angry but helpless, so she left quietly to prepare the medicine. A moment later, she returned to Jack’s ward with two packets of brewed medicine. Jack was lying on the bed looking bored, while two black-clad bodyguards sat on the accompanying chairs, making him afraid to even speak on the phone. Jack was very uncomfortable being monitored like this.
When Anna arrived at his hospital room, she met his helpless and struggling eyes. "Who are these people, Uncle? How did they end up in your hospital room?" Anna asked with hostility in her tone.
As soon as she finished speaking, the two bodyguards turned their sharp eyes to them, Jack’s heart sank, and he forced a smile, saying, "It’s nothing, just two of my friends."
Anna was suspicious, but she also sensed the helplessness in his Words. She took a step towards his bed and said, "Uncle, I’m here to deliver your medicine. Take one pack in the morning and one in the afternoon, after meals."
As she spoke, Anna handed him the medicine. When Jack took the medicine, he accidentally touched Anna, she noticed it and quickly said, Uncle, let me take your pulse and see how you are doing" Jack’s eyes lit up with admiration and he eagerly said. Sure, I’ve been feeling very uncomfortable these past few days. Please take a look and see what’s wrong with me.
Anna sat in front of Jack, deliberately blocking the view of the two bodyguards behind her. As she placed her hand on his pulse, she whispered, "Uncle, are you being threatened by someone?
Jack nodded secretly and looked behind Anna with a wary expression, making a gesture for her to keep quiet. Anna’s heart tightened and her lips pressed together anxiously as she whispered, "What about our plan?"
Jack gave her a reassuring smile and whispered back, "The timing isn’t right yet. We’ll act according to plan when the time comes." Hearing this, Anna breathed a sigh of relief and replied, "Then I’ll wait for your message uncle."
Just as she finished speaking, a cold voice from behind the bodyguards shouted, "What are you two whispering about?!"
"You! Get out as soon as the medicine is delivered!" Anna was startled by the voice and quickly got up from his bed. She trembled as she spoke, "Uncle is not feeling well and needs to rest more these days."
"Since the medicine has been delivered, I won’t disturb you any longer, Uncle, l will leave first."
Jack smiled kindly and raised the medicine bag in his hand, "Okay, thank you for your hard work these days!"
Anna waved goodbye with a smile and quickly left the ward, only breathing a sigh of relief when she was out of sight of the two bodyguards. She patted her chest, suppressing the panic surging inside her, constantly thinking of ways to proceed. According to Jack’s implication, the plan would require a long time to proceed smoothly. But she didn’t have time to waste here!
Yesterday, her father had promised her that she would be the heir of the Smith Group from now on. He even handed over a part of the Smith Group’s power to her. With such an opportunity, she could not patiently wait?
The fact that the two bodyguards could sit calmly in Jack’s ward indicated that Claire know about them and might likely be the one who brought them here.
Anna came up with a plan in her mind and walked towards Claire’s office.
"Next."
Claire was immersed in her work and didn’t notice that Anna had entered her office.
"Ahem, Claire." Anna cleared her throat and sat in the chair opposite her, hugging her arm. Hearing the familiar voice, Claire frowned and looked at her, saying, "Are you here for work?" No pay for you today."
"Also, I have other uses for your office. You can walk around freely from now on." Claire’s tone was flat, then she looked outside the office door. Seeing that there were no more patients to be treated, a hint of surprise flashed in her beautiful eyes.
Anna sneered and teased, "What? Curious about why there are no more patients?" Claire looked at her coldly and asked, "What have you done?" Anna leisurely opened her bag and took out a thick stack of banknotes, shaking them and saying.
"The best way to deal with poor people is money. And right now, I happen to have plenty of it."
Claire’s eyes narrowed as she warned, "This is my clinic, not a place for you to act recklessly. If you want to show off your rich girl attitude, please go somewhere else. I don’t have time to deal with your nonsense here."
Anna threw the banknotes on the table in front of Claire and said lightly, "Why are you so angry? It’s just a matter of time. I’ll buy it, buy their time and yours. l only has a few words to say, and then I’ll leave."
"Get out!" Claire said coldly without even looking at the money on the table. Anna’s confident expression froze. She was surprised by Claire’s reaction. How could she refuse her when she was always so obsessed with money?
"Do you think it’s not enough? I can add more money..." Anna said, still not giving up.
"I’ll say it one last time. Disappear from my sight now, or I will call the security guards on you!" Claire’s eyes blazed with anger as she warned.
Anna regained her senses and Caught the key point in Claire’s Words. She said anxiously, "Call someone? Who do you have to call" Anna, I didn’t expect you to be this kind of person. You even resorted to force to make people stay in your hospital?"
