Rebirth Of The Noble Mage Behind The Scenes
Chapter 69 - 69 69 Mysterious Great Library

69: Chapter 69: Mysterious Great Library 69: Chapter 69: Mysterious Great Library Opinions on Anvis’s performance were mixed, but a few Third and Fourth Rank students had a shiver run down their spine.

They noticed the subtle movement in Anvis’s right hand.

When they sensed something amiss, they immediately prepared to cast spells.

This is the precious battle instinct only Mages who have genuinely been through blood and fire in real combat could learn.

“Guys, how long do you think this newcomer will take to get out?”

A blue-haired girl asked curiously.

She had just entered the Mysterious and Relics Academy last year and was seeing such a scene for the first time, feeling very intrigued by it.

“I think, at least a Magic Time!”

“It’s hard to say, I believe at the very least one and a half Magic Times.”

“I bet it will take him two Magic Times!”

“Oh?

Are you serious, dear Yani?”

“Of course, just look at that farmer-like, dull and defenseless walking posture of his, the other two newcomers are much more cautious than him!”

“Wanna bet with me?

I bet he can walk out of the Mirror Space within a Magic Time, and as for the bet, let’s bet on a limited edition Secret Magic Card issued by the Golden Giant Dragon Trading Company this year!”

“You’re on!

Whoever chickens out is a dog!”

As if a pebble was thrown into the water, everyone began to discuss this topic enthusiastically, and the room was immediately filled with a lively atmosphere.

Anvis was unaware of the discussion taking place on the rooftop, but he knew that the newcomer welcoming ceremony was usually broadcast live.

At this moment, he was walking through the wide rock corridor of the high tower.

This place had also been expanded spatially, with Bright Stones embedded in the walls at intervals.

The faint, pale white radiance illuminated Anvis’s path forward.

A faint warmth was continuously emanating from his chest, reminding Anvis of the anomalies in the environment.

The environment here contained a hidden psychological suggestion aiming to induce newcomers entering the tower to head towards the top floor.

The strength of the suggestion was not high, and a Second Rank Spellcaster with a bit more determination could be immune.

To Anvis, of course, it had no effect at all.

However, being unaffected by the suggestion is one thing; being able to detect its presence is another.

“Suppose, I take this opportunity to go to some areas in the tower that require a large number of credits, what would happen?”

An idea suddenly leapt out, and as his thoughts shifted, Anvis’s footsteps, which had originally been heading straight upstairs, came to a halt.

Instead, he moved towards the Mysterious Great Library.

The Mysterious Great Library was one of the goals Anvis had for choosing the Mystical School.

Although it is called a library, in fact, the Mysterious Great Library contains not only books but also all sorts of odd things.

Ancient encrypted stone tablets, statues of unknown creatures, bizarre three-eared pots, swords stained with ‘blood’, partially metalized black sticks, white wildflowers as if they had just bloomed, and so on…

All carriers of mysterious spells and textual symbols, both solved and unsolved, collected by Pamir over hundreds of years, are part of the ‘Collection’ in the Mysterious Great Library.

Including the Dean of the Mysterious and Relics Academy, no one can say for certain how many mysteries are hidden within the library.

Anvis’s goal was the several Mysterious Items rumored to be from the Mysterious Great Library in his previous life.

There was a structural diagram of the inside of the high tower at the first-floor staircase, and Anvis remembered it clearly; the library was located at the end of the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor.

“Look, his route has changed; that direction…

seems to be the Great Library!”

“Damn it!

Why didn’t I think of that when I was a beginner!”

A burly student, who looked more like a Berserker than a Mage, watched Anvis’s actions, had an epiphany, and slapped his thigh with regret, creating a very loud smack.

“Not thinking it doesn’t mean others haven’t thought about it, but the pity is, it’s not that simple to enter the Mysterious Great Library,” said a male student wearing the academy’s cape, laughing lightly and shaking his head beside the burly student.

“What do you mean?”

The burly student was stunned.

“You’ll find out soon enough!”

However, the male student just smiled and did not answer directly.

Aside from Anvis, the other two newcomers were cautiously exploring inside the tower, moving at a slow pace.

Yet, both had independently chosen to head straight to the top to check.

There were multiple pathways to the top of the tower, some with traps, some without.

All the traps, however, had no lethal force; their only purpose was to delay time.

The first two newcomers had unwittingly fallen prey to them, wandering back and forth in the lengthy and convoluted corridors and after wasting a lot of time, they found themselves back where they started.

Fortunately, each trap was only triggered once.

Compared to them, Anvis was much faster.

Whether it was simply good luck or something else, he had not encountered a single trap so far.

Soon, Anvis arrived at the corridor in front of the library.

But the problem was that this corridor was rigged with traps.

The surface of the pale silver Mercury Eyes faintly glowed as Anvis carefully examined the trap in front of him, pondering if there was a way to break through.

“Not a spatial distortion, nor an illusion effect, it seems…

some special Dream Power?”

With the constant vision of magic power through the Mercury Eyes, Anvis analyzed the essence of the trap,

Initially, when encountering the various traps in the tower, he had planned to use some magic items in his ring to break them.

But later he discovered that in this Mirror Space, all magic items were unable to utilize their active effects, including Space Items and the Magic Book hanging at his waist.

“Perhaps, it is possible to neutralize it using the Reality Stabilization Technique.”

Observing the obscure flow of magic power within the trap, he soon found several hidden magic nodes.

The Reality Stabilization Technique was a Third Rank spell with a moderate complexity of the model.

With Anvis’s spiritual power nearly at Third Rank, he could barely cast it.

Although the name sounds impressive, in fact, it’s a spell designed specifically against Dream Magic, capable of interfering with and nullifying all magic power related to dreams.

No sooner thought than done, Anvis began to channel the spell, his hands forming gestures in the air as he softly chanted the corresponding ancient Gumanese spell syllables.

This spell required no materials, only that the spellcaster remain alert.

“Look, he’s casting a spell!

He must have spotted the trap!”

“It must be some kind of Bloodline Ability he has, or the effect of those glasses he’s wearing.”

The older students were quite astute, and it didn’t take long for someone to guess the reason Anvis could detect the trap.

“This newcomer is definitely not ordinary; calling him absent-minded is hardly fair.”

“What do you think about this, our perceptive Mr.

Yani?”

Watching Anvis’s actions, the crowd on the top of the tower was all abuzz; amidst this lively atmosphere, several mocking glances were directed at a young man.
