Chapter 193: The Realm of Dreams
Chapter 193: Chapter 193: The Realm of Dreams
"Alright, let’s begin."
Having received Evan’s affirmative response, Anvis took out a crystal bowl, which contained half a bowl of coarse blue salt treated with magic.
From the palm of his hand emerged a faint blue Cold Flame. Under this sourceless fire, the blue salt grains slowly melted into a flowing, viscous liquid.
Then, holding that tiny Dream Key, Anvis dropped it into the bowl.
Despite the viscosity of the liquid, the key sank swiftly to the bottom of the bowl, as if defying the rules. Surrounded by the still-burning pale blue flames, it emitted a faint purple dreamy glow, lightly illuminating the entire bowl of blue salt.
With hands suspended in the air, Anvis gently cradled the central crystal bowl and began to chant the corresponding Ritual Spell in a slow and graceful tone.
Accompanied by the mysterious Dream Prayer, the key started to radiate a brighter light, bright enough to tinge the blue salt in the bowl with a faint purple hue.
After a moment, the chanting ended, and Anvis retrieved the key.
Even after the source of its brilliance was removed, the enchanting purple hue, filled with a hazy aura, still lingered in the liquid, reluctant to leave.
Suddenly, without warning, he tilted the bowl, pouring its contents into the air.
The molten salt flowed out but did not fall to the ground; it suspended mid-air, enveloped by an invisible Magic Power.
There, amidst the raging Ice Flames, it gradually coalesced into three small salt crystal Keys, emitting a faint purple glow.
The refinement complete, Anvis handed one each to Evonne and Jom and kept one for himself.
All three knew the function of the keys and required no further explanation.
Evonne had already stored her summon into her ring, prepared to bring it into the Dream World.
The Guiding Array needed for Dream Entry was already prepared while waiting for Evonne. The three lay inside the Array, placed the Salt Keys under their tongues, and adjusted their mental frequencies to align temporarily with that of the Array.
The tiny Salt Key gradually dissolved in their mouths, turning back into a liquid that flowed into their bodies,
It had no taste, yet was heavy like mercury and cold like a winter’s night.
Their heartbeats pulsated, following the pull of the Key and the Array, some power that does not exist in reality began to envelop this underground hall.
In a Daze, Anvis saw that phantom ’Gate.’
It bore strange, mystical patterns, like a star twinkling with light, descending from the far-end of the boundless sky to the world.
It existed beyond reality, yet also within it.
As time passed, the Gate drew closer, growing larger in size. From the smallness of a round mirror, it eventually occupied all of Anvis’s sight.
Finally, led by the Key, the Gate passed through him, and he found himself within the Gate.
Opening his eyes again, Anvis noticed the surroundings had changed.
The rough rock walls had become smooth and delicate, their surfaces glowing with a faint, gentle phosphorescence. The relief carvings on them had silently turned into depictions of ancient moons.
In the center of the room appeared a strange cluster of charred ash, seemingly the remnant of some sort of bonfire.
Jom and Evonne stood beside him, now likewise awoken, looking around.
Although the entry method was somewhat akin to dreaming, in truth, through the power of the Dream Guide, everyone had physically entered the Dream World.
"Yes, this must be the Dream Layer of the island. I remember that Dream bonfire; it was left by me and my Guard."
After confirming the situation around her, Evonne took the lead in stepping out of the Array and released her summoned creatures.
At her words, Anvis also glanced at the remnants of the bonfire.
Just like how bonfires in the real world can drive away wild animals, bonfires in the Dream World can also dispel some of the bizarre existences found within it.
"Let’s head up."
With Evonne’s summoned creatures leading the way, everyone cautiously emerged from the underground passage.
At this time, night had fallen in the Dream World of the island.
In the sky, there was no Silver Moon, but the Purple Moon had grown as large as a carriage, displaying a perfect full moon while emitting an extremely bright, enchanting purplish moonlight.
Apart from the pale blue Guiding Star that remained constant in the far north sky, all the other stars were black, like holes punctured in the dark blue firmament.
The surface of the Dream World also held the presence of Curse Power, which became especially active with the fall of night.
But before anyone could take further action, intense fluctuations from a battle far away emanated from the direction of the island’s mountainous Dream World!
The brilliance of Magic lit up the night sky, and the horrific Magic Fluctuations penetrated the chaotic Curse Field, allowing people nearly a hundred kilometers away to sense them clearly.
"It’s a battle between Eighth Ranks. Lord Anvis, one side should be the island’s Alien God believers. The other side, based on that unique strength fluctuation... seems to be someone from the Holy Radiance Church Court."
Jom’s expression turned grave as he voiced the results of his Perception.
"Let’s check it out."
At that, Anvis immediately became interested.
He recalled the Holy Radiance Church Bishop he had seen in the island tavern and the message left by the Alien God Priest’s projection above the ruins earlier.
...
At this moment, between the mountains, two figures were confronting each other from afar in mid-air.
One figure was clad in a billowing priestly robe of purple, adorned with strange patterns, with his face hidden in the shadows beneath his hood, indistinct.
A bizarre Scepter was held in his withered right hand, with rich dark green malevolent strength fluctuations swirling around his body, rendering his figure blurry and unclear.
On the other side stood an exceptionally young-looking, blond young man.
He was dressed in a solemn black bishop’s robe, with only three simple gold stripes embroidered at the collar of his mantle, from which a silver-white circular Light Holy Emblem hung on his chest, adding a hint of divine presence.
The power of light enveloped him, making his body appear pure and translucent, and not a single shadow could be seen on him even in the depth of the night.
At this moment, the remnants of the Chaotic Magic from the environment had not yet fully dissipated around these two individuals with nearly opposite auras.
Clearly, an intense battle had just ceased.
"Stop this, heretic. Under the gaze of the Divine, your plans shall not succeed."
Gazing at the Alien God Priest opposite him, the young blond Bishop spoke indifferently, his tone firm and solemn, as if stating an indisputable fact.
"You pitiful clowns, offering up your so-called devout faith to that false Divine. Are you fooling others, or deceiving yourselves?"
Across from him, the robe covering the face of the Great Sacrificial Rite Priest of the Moon Cult subtly moved, and a hoarse voice sounded from beneath, filled with exceptionally blasphemous words.
