Chapter 180: Chapter 180 Bloodline Prophecy

Perceiving the presence of alien powers in the environment, the pages of the Ancient Secret Scripture slightly glowed, just like before, swiftly absorbing the remaining power from the traces.

Feeling the last bit of alien power in the traces gradually disappear, Anvis hung the Ancient Secret Scripture back at his waist, walked to the power-depleted trace, crouched down, and touched the bottom of the ground where the trace was.

What he felt was a strange, talc-like powder texture, as if the rock had transformed into extremely fine dust, seemingly disintegrated by an incomprehensible force.

Anvis shook his fingertips, and then the dust on the ground, as if suddenly acquiring life, gathered itself into a small sphere.

Then, the small sphere floated up, hovering beside Anvis.

This could very likely be the trace left by Evan’s past visit, or possibly when he commanded his family guards to move a statue.

But that doesn’t matter, as long as this trace has a significant connection with Evan’s disappearance.

As a blood relative connected to his bloodline, through this trace, Anvis could attempt to locate Evan’s exact whereabouts using a special bloodline prophecy.

Due to the bloodline connection, the success rate of this prophecy is much higher than ordinary prophecies.

Of course, before coming to this island, he had also tried to use the huge gemstone statue in Evan’s Mage Tower for the prophecy of Evan’s location.

Unfortunately, that statue disappeared along with ’Evan’, which was what the Duke told him when Anvis applied to ’borrow’ the statue.

Taking out a crystal shallow basin containing Moonlight Mercury, Anvis set it on the altar’s ground, then activated it with the Prophet’s unique destiny feedback force.

The calm mercury, like a mirror, emitted a soft silver light, as if Silver Moon Sevin suddenly rose from within the basin like in the night sky.

Gazing at this beautiful scene, Anvis made several gestures, blending a wisp of silver light into the calm mercury.

As the light points fell, rings of faint ripples surfaced on the mirror-like calm mercury.

Seeing this, Anvis threw the nearby dust sphere into the basin, and also using magic power, manipulated his fingertip flesh to extract a drop of his own blood glowing with faint magic light, and blended it into the Moonlight Mercury as well.

Once both were blended into the basin, the silver mercury surface suddenly shone bright, and a vague image emerged from within the mercury.

It was a dilapidated ruin.

The ruin lay amidst a desolate rocky wasteland—without any general scale reference nearby, it was hard to judge its specific area.

The next instant, the image’s perspective suddenly zoomed in and dove directly beneath the surface of the ruins.

A dark area, akin to an underground labyrinth, suddenly appeared under Anvis’ scrutiny.

But as this scene surfaced, a hint of eerie black and green suddenly appeared at the center of the mercury.

Then, this black and green spread like ink dropped into a cup of water, almost instantly infiltrating all the mercury in the basin, turning the image completely dark.

And this was not the end; this black-green alien power, having obscured the power of prophecy, even extended directly towards Anvis’ real body, following the faint spell link.

Jom’s gaze abruptly sharpened, his will instantly turning into a cold blade, severing that hint of connection.

As he cut off the link, the Ancient Secret Scripture at Anvis’ waist lit up by itself, rapidly absorbing this eroding power.

Looking at the completely ruined basin of Moonlight Mercury, Anvis casually stowed it away and quickly constructed the visual image of the ruins’ appearance he had just seen with his spiritual power.

After transferring this image onto a piece of Magic Sheepskin Paper, Anvis stowed it away, planning to inquire the old explorer if he recognized it upon his return.

Afterward, Anvis left traces behind and walked towards the back of the altar.

The traces related to Evan’s disappearance had been dealt with, and he was now ready to inspect the mysterious, massive seal required by the Ancient Secret Scripture.

Looking at the dark and profound expanse before him, Anvis raised his slender silver magic wand, the irregular gem crystal at the tip lighting up with a pale blue glow, a bright white magic light ball materializing.

Magic Light Technique

Forming a bright light ball with no temperature, it can be shot out to probe the dark areas in the distance, with the maximum effective range being a radius of three hundred meters around the caster.

In the previous passive precognition scene, the pitch-black seal holding terrifying ancient powers was exact in hiding in the deepest, darkest corner behind the altar.

His main objective for this trip was to try to obtain a strength that might likely surpass the Ninth Rank Limit.

With a slight gesture from Anvis’s magic wand, the pure white light ball drifted into the darkness, not too fast nor slow, illuminating the dark stretches along its path like a giant firefly.

But Anvis soon discovered that things were a bit different from what he expected.

Under the soft glow of the light ball, the deepest corner of the rock wall was smooth and unblemished, without the slightest trace of the seal.

Furrowing his brows slightly, Anvis cautiously floated closer to the rock wall, looking at its rough exterior, which seemed no different from other parts of the cave, then reactivated the Ancient Secret Scripture to conduct a careful sensing.

But the feedback in his mind clearly indicated that the material here was no different from the regular walls elsewhere in the cave.

Even the power of the Ancient Secret Scripture couldn’t sense it?

Or is it simply because the level is not enough to detect hidden things?

"Lord Jom, could you please check if there’s anything hidden behind this rock wall?"

After thinking for a moment, Anvis turned to Jom and gestured for him to come forward to probe the rock wall.

"Moreover, probing this rock wall might be very dangerous, be cautious and ready to sever your spiritual power at any moment."

Suddenly recalling something, Anvis added one more line.

Upon hearing Anvis’s solemn reminder, Jom’s expression also grew serious. He slowly nodded to the young man, indicating his understanding.

Is there a terrifying danger lurking within this seemingly innocuous rock wall, enough to warrant caution even from those at the Eighth Rank?

Carefully extending a thread of special structured spiritual probe, Jom inserted it slowly into the rock layer, ready at any moment to activate the Secret Magic Seal at its tail to sever it completely.

But as the probe went deeper into the cliff, Jom found that the results of the detection were normal, with the wall merely being an ordinary part of the cave.

"I didn’t sense any hidden objects, Lord Anvis."

Looking somewhat perplexed at Anvis, Jom retracted the probe and reported his findings.

"No hidden objects?"

Floating in mid-air, Anvis touched the icy smooth body of his magic wand with his fingers, looking at the cliff wall and mused for a moment.

Suddenly, a somewhat bold idea of testing arose in his mind.

"Then, Lord Jom, could you trouble yourself to strike this rock wall with your sword, a deeper cut if you can?"
