Chapter 106: Chapter 106 Camp

This task is actually a high-rank faction initiation task for players.

Whichever faction the players hope to join, they should hand over the information to an individual from that faction.

As long as they can successfully make contact with a key NPC of the corresponding faction before dying, the task will be completed, the player will receive rewards, and open up related faction reputation.

Now, it’s time to recall the Elf Follower who’s been fostered externally.

For no reason at all, he attacked the secret materials transport team of the outskirt defense army; he probably doesn’t yet comprehend the gravity of the situation.

According to the behavior pattern of ’NPCs’ from the Order Camp, without a justified and reasonable explanation, one would be treated as a fugitive and turned over to the White Rose Army on the spot for their disposition.

Of course, if there is a reason behind it, that’s a different matter altogether.

If the Last Dragon Descendant speaks out the information, then he, who receives this information, will be ’very shocked’, and will generously reward the Elf, and also incidentally retrieve the Radiant Crystal as a ’task item’.

In such plot-driven tasks, once a player dies, the task fails directly, and the items obtained during the task will drop.

Anvis believes that the Last Dragon Descendant will surely make a wise choice.

Having briefly contemplated the future ’task steps’, Anvis wrote another letter and dispatched his family’s influence to secretly make contact with the Last Dragon Descendant.

While ensuring that the Elf is concealed from being found and crushed by high-level professionals, he handed over his Communication Crystal Ball to the Elf.

This Crystal Ball had a special secret technique applied to it, allowing it to make direct visual contact with another Crystal Ball in his possession, which is very convenient.

........

Three days later, in the afternoon, through the translucent Communication Crystal Ball, Anvis once again saw his own Elf Follower.

The state of the Last Dragon Descendant wasn’t good; the individuals from the Olivendi Family arrived a bit late, and the Elf almost perished amid a series of assassinations and curses.

Even now, parts of the strange dark streaks that have not been eradicated still cling to the Elf’s face, giving his complexion a somewhat gloomy appearance.

"Rivers? Where have you been during this time?"

"My lord! My whereabouts are not important, I suspect that the White Rose Army intends to rebel!"

Upon hearing Anvis’ query, the Last Dragon Descendant did not respond but directly spit out a piece of explosive news!

"Hmm? Do you realize what you’re saying?"

In the Crystal Ball, the pale and thin noble young man slightly frowned, seemingly dissatisfied with the Elf’s reckless speech.

"The White Rose Army is an elite border defense army directly under the Royal Family, and its commander is even directly appointed from a member of the Royal Family’s collateral branches."

"And now, you’re telling me that the White Rose Army wants to stage a rebellion?"

"Absolutely, my lord! This time I..."

Facing Anvis’ skepticism, the Last Dragon Descendant exaggerated all the events he had experienced on the spot and even proactively handed over most of the Radiant Crystals.

There was no other choice; the several negative buffs on him were gradually draining his health, and his health bar was about to hit rock bottom.

If he didn’t complete the task now, he worried that in the next moment, he would return to the embrace of the gods.

Thinking optimistically, if it wasn’t for his extremely servile agreement to become an NPC’s follower, his mission wouldn’t have unlocked a hidden option, and he would have been tragically killed by relentless monster assaults.

Then the mission would have failed, all unbound items would have been dropped, one Resurrection Stone would have been lost, and he would’ve suffered losses to the point of sitting outside on the rooftop railing to catch a breath of cool air.

Now that he can keep his little life and also complete the hidden optional task, however he thinks about it, he has made a huge gain...

... right?

Well, if possible, he’d prefer to unlock the Empire Family’s prestige.

"I see,"

After hearing the Last Dragon Descendant’s story, Anvis displayed a ’shocked’ expression.

After silently counting to three, Anvis put away his expression and entered the storyline to distribute rewards.

As a reward for being frank with the Elf, Anvis generously ’purchased’ the Radiant Crystals submitted by the Last Dragon Descendant at a standard price of 20,000 Gold Coins per unit and additionally bestowed upon him a Magic Ring.

[Vine’s Ring], Level sixty-five Blue Equipment.

It can enhance the wearer’s spellcasting speed, Magic Stability, and power, and automatically recover 3% of the maximum Magic Power every second for spellcasters and professionals below Sixth Rank, making it a fine item for those below Seventh Rank.

Anvis based the task reward on the faction tasks from his past life, estimating what to give.

To find an item not too high or low in quality to reward the Last Dragon Descendant, he specifically checked the Guard’s Magic Equipment list of the Olivendi Family.

Can’t help it, too hard to find shoddy equipment.

Besides that, Anvis also gave him a bit of the Olivendi Family resource quota, following the task procedure from his memory.

Resource quota is actually the player’s camp contribution value.

Genuine top forces wouldn’t directly give money or resources when rewarding their subordinates, but instead grant a corresponding resource quota, counted as contribution value to the force.

With their own contribution value, subordinates can withdraw corresponding valued Gold Coins and resources from the storeroom at any time.

The list of exchangeable items is related to the total contribution value obtained, and some rare resources have limits on the number of times and the amount they can be exchanged.

Once a certain level is reached, high rank camps’ contribution value is considered to be a currency more solid than Gold Coins.

Through the Last Dragon Descendant’s player panel, Anvis saw the Olivendi Family’s camp shop.

Yes, even through the Communication Crystal Ball, he could see the player panel—

In the panel, the Last Dragon Descendant currently has 150 points of camp contribution and the reputation with the Olivendi camp is Friendly.

Reputation levels from low to high are: Arch Enemy, Hostile, Cold, Neutral, Friendly, Respectful, Worshipful.

Based on the different reputation levels, the camp store’s exchangeable items also vary. Only with higher reputation can more powerful and rare materials and equipment be exchanged.

In a long list of exchangeable items, Anvis noticed that ’Vine’s Ring’, which he rewarded to the Last Dragon Descendant, was also one of the items available in the camp store, worth 2,000 contribution points,

Clearly, most of the camp contribution rewards have been offset by that ring. Otherwise, the reward for this task should’ve been more than just 150 points.

The Last Dragon Descendant doesn’t know Anvis’s thoughts as his eyes are already dazzled by the list of exchangeable items.

Throughout the entire closed beta test, the Elf had realized the rarity of high-quality items in Mysterious Era.

Fine Grade Equipment (Green Gear) is the mainstream while Magic Equipment (Blue Gear) is as rare as Purple Equipment in other similar games.

Up to now, his gear still consists of a mix of blue and green, occasionally adorned with one or two purple items.

Also, having only found a Fine Quality helmet and Magic Hat, the Last Dragon Descendant chooses not to wear head gear when not in combat.

But in the Olivendi Family camp store, the entire list contains no items below Blue Quality!

There are no fewer than three items of Master-level Purple Equipment! And this is under the premise that the camp reputation is merely ’Friendly’!

Are high rank camps all this terrifying?!
