Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The Lost Civilization

According to the records in the ruins, the builders of the ruins were an ancient civilization race known as the Yaqiu people.

It is one of the last refuges of the Yaqiu civilization at the end of days, as well as the place that preserves the last sparks of their civilization.

The Yaqiu lived in the final years of the Old God Era, and Curse Ore was prevalent throughout their lives.

Owing to their prolonged exposure to the Curse Ore, they gradually adapted to its curse and in turn, employed it as their weapon and tool.

Lacking theoretical understanding, the Yaqiu did not realize the existence of chain reactions, simply using refined Curse Metal as a Mutated source to cultivate various powerful Mutated Demon Beasts through its intense Curse Field.

The cursed beasts, once transformed, would possess robust and distorted physiques, as well as terrifying Curse Auras.

Consequently, their minds often became damaged, which further facilitated the Yaqiu People’s control over them.

With the Mutated Demon Beast legion at their disposal, the Yaqiu gradually carved out their living space on the Continent, secured a stronghold, and began to steadily develop.

This way of life continued until some of the most mad Yaqiu scholars stealthily stole the eggs of Giant Dragons and cultivated a unique legendary species of mutant — Curse Plutonium Dragon.

Like ordinary Curse Mutant Beasts, the Curse Plutonium Dragon possessed a very intense Curse Aura and underwent Epic enhancements across various physical attributes.

However, what was different was that the Dragon Breath of the Curse Plutonium Dragon had mutated, becoming a beam of light as blazingly brilliant as the sun.

The point where the beam fell would result in a terrifying explosion — it was an unknown force that eradicated matter from its very roots!

This power made the Yaqiu scholars incredibly curious, but before they could undertake more specific research, the furious Giant Dragons whose eggs had been stolen descended upon them.

That was not a time when Giant Dragons were close to extinction, in the Old God Era, legendary creatures like Giants Dragons and Titans were the overlords and rulers of the Continent.

In order to declare the inviolability of a Giant Dragon’s majesty, after a brutal war, the Yaqiu civilization was nearly annihilated.

Before the surviving Yaqiu could catch their breath, the two strongest legendary races of the Old God Era, the Giant Dragons and Titans, commenced a full-scale war.

Even though both races tried their best to limit the environmental damage, when the war escalated to a fever pitch, the residual shockwaves could still easily alter the landscape of the Continent.

In the aftermath of the horrific destruction, most ancient civilizations, including the Yaqiu, completely vanished, leaving behind only a few barely detectable sparks of existence.

.........

After receiving this sole hidden task, the boy next door paid a heavy price, completed a series of highly difficult consecutive tasks, and finally succeeded in maxing out the affection level of that mechanical life form.

As a reward, he obtained part of the Yaqiu civilization’s core inheritance preserved within the ruins, as well as the whereabouts and methods to decode more heritage items scattered outside.

The cultivation method for the Curse Plutonium Dragon was one such core inheritance of the Yaqiu civilization found outside!

For the players, the most challenging part of the task was actually how to enter the Pamir Academy and obtain the credentials that allowed borrowing those two Metal Plates from the Mysterious Great Library.

Being the cradle of the Empire’s next-generation upper class, the Royal Pamir Academy’s map has a Challenge Level so high it’s staggering. For a player without any Identity, entry would be extremely difficult.

Most players have heard of the Pamir Academy’s reputation but know nothing more detailed, including its location.

After undertaking one difficult task after another, the boy next door finally succeeded in entering the Pamir Academy.

However, because his character’s talent did not pass the detection, he could not become an official student and could only enter as a service personnel.

After sneaking in, relying on the special detection device obtained during the task, the boy next door finally discovered that the two metal plates, which were the task goals, were located in the Mysterious Library.

But as a mere service personnel, he did not have the access to enter the Mysterious Great Library.

Because of this, he had no choice but to spend more than a month trying to increase the favorability of an NPC student, and finally, he managed to borrow the two metal plates.

Due to a lack of resources, the boy next door, after memorizing the cultivation method of the Curse Plutonium Dragon, chose to hand over this secret technique to the Burns Family of the Royal Capital to exchange for a huge reward.

....

But in this life, Anvis, with his identity, directly ignored the biggest difficulty of the task and easily pocketed the reward.

Because this changed the course of the future, he decided not to store the two metal plates in the Space Ring but instead placed them in his residence at the academy, to see if he could lure anything interesting.

It is known that in Pamir, the consequences of burglary are very serious, especially for an outside service personnel sneaking into an official student’s residence to commit theft.

Whether to kill them on the spot or use them as specimens for some spell experiments, that is the personal right of the student.

However, Anvis expressed that he was very generous, as long as he could satisfy that tiny bit of his insignificant curiosity, he welcomed even uninvited guests.

[Boy Next Door]’s post in his previous life only introduced the exact location of the Curse Plutonium Dragon cultivation knowledge, but Anvis is equally interested in the heritage of other Yaqiu civilizations.

Considering the generous hidden task reward he provided, it’s believed that the boy next door, as a generous and enthusiastic player, will be more than happy to provide additional heritage information.

After all, smart people know which to choose between a bounty in hand and a bounty hanging over their head.

Speaking of players, Anvis’s heart suddenly stirred, reminding him of an Elf Follower he had previously set to free-range mode.

He wondered how he was doing now.

For a Prophet, a sudden intuition often signifies a premonition.

After pondering, Anvis wrote a note, sealed it with Sealing Magic into an envelope, then summoned the Magic Messenger of the Olivendi Chamber of Commerce and sent it out.

.....

At this moment, the Last Dragon Descendant, whom Anvis had just remembered, was standing on a small plain on the western side of Manerqin Castle, beside the snow-covered mountains, gazing into the distance.

This time, he was not alone.

A Human male dressed in a black Magic Robe with a Spellbook hanging at his waist; a half-cat girl playing with an oddly shaped dagger restlessly; a Dwarf squatting on a rock, seemingly observing its composition;

A Half-Elf beauty in light armor and wielding a longbow, with an enticing posture; and a Natural Elf carrying a lute, wearing a charming smile, five players of different races gathered around him.

However, although they were of different races and professions, there was one consistent prefix in front of their game IDs.
