Chapter 755: Chapter 753 Agreement 2_1

The next day, Muxia did not know when the power had returned, but by the time she awoke, it was already light outside, and he was no longer by her side.

With sleepy eyes, Muxia’s mind was filled with the promises they had made to each other last night!

Just thinking about being together once they got to college...

Muxia couldn’t help reaching out to rub her face, followed by a lovestruck smile.

You wouldn’t know unless you’ve been in love, when just the thought of that person makes your heart bloom uncontrollably.

After her moment of infatuation, Muxia charged her phone.

As soon as it began charging, she saw that there were over a dozen missed calls and messages on it.

All from Xu Zeming.

Xu Zeming: [Muxia, we’ve had a power outage here. It didn’t come back on until three in the morning. Don’t be afraid, it’s nothing serious.]

Seeing messages like that made Muxia feel even more that Jiang Qingchen was so wonderful.

He braved the rain to accompany her, which was far better than this kind of bland, ineffective nonsense.

And with his personality, he must have waited until the power was back before he went home. Otherwise, he would never leave her alone in the darkness.

Ignoring Xu Zeming’s caring messages, Muxia went straight to the Jiang family’s place.

Jiang Miaomiao and Jiang Bai, the couple, were out for some reason, and definitely were not at home.

Muxia made her way to Jiang Qingchen’s room.

Knock, knock, knock.

She stood outside and knocked on the door, but there was no response from inside.

"Qingchen?" Muxia furrowed her brows and decided to use the spare key she found to open his door.

The moment she entered, Muxia was startled to see him drenched in sweat, his handsome face flushed but his lips pale, and when she touched his hand, it was cold.

He had a fever!

It must have been from getting caught in the cold rain last night!

It’s all her fault!

It’s all her fault!

"Qingchen!" Muxia’s eyes reddened, and she almost fell to the ground as she pounced over, hurriedly pulling out her phone to make a call.

After she was done, the feverish and groggy Jiang Qingchen furrowed his brows, trying his best to open his eyes. His eyes, red from the fever, tenderly looked at her as he comforted, "Muxia, don’t worry about me, I’m fine. Go to the living room drawer, get me a fever-reducing pill, and I’ll be okay."

"I’m going to get it right now!" With tears in her eyes, Muxia scrambled out, fearing even a second’s delay.

Jiang Qingchen couldn’t help but smile at his pale lips, thinking if she really needed to be so exaggerated—it made him feel as if he were on his deathbed.

"Here’s the medicine, and water too, not too cold or too hot, take it quickly!" Muxia, with a worried expression, brought the pill and water to his lips.

Jiang Qingchen obediently took the medicine.

About ten minutes later, once the medicine took effect, Jiang Qingchen felt his head clear considerably.

The Lu Family’s driver arrived and took Jiang Qingchen to the hospital.

The nurse set up an IV for him: "This medicine might taste bitter as it goes in, try to bear with it, or have some water or candy."

"Okay, thank you, Nurse," Muxia replied hastily before Jiang Qingchen could say a word.

Once the nurse left, Muxia turned to him, "Qingchen, I’m going to buy some candy for you; wait here for a moment, I’ll be right back."

Muxia was worried that the medicine might be too bitter for him.

However, Jiang Qingchen’s other hand grabbed hers, "No need, I don’t need any candy, having you by my side is sweet enough for me."

He wanted to keep her in sight at all times, not allowing her to leave.

Muxia furrowed her brows, "Stop joking around."

"I’m not joking, I’m serious!" Jiang Qingchen insisted solemnly.

With a mix of resignation and amusement, Muxia resigned herself to sit beside him, "Alright then, I won’t go buy candy. I’ll just sit by your side and be your candy, how about that?"

"That’s good, very good boy," he said as he stroked her head.

Looking at his pale face, Muxia sighed with guilt, "I’m really sorry for making you sick."

"What are you apologizing for? You’re my girlfriend!" Jiang Qingchen gently tapped her head, "Don’t apologize anymore. Everything I do for you is sweet to me."

Even if it means enduring the bitter consequences.

Muxia nodded her head, but her eyes still brimmed with guilt.

Seeing this, Jiang Qingchen stared at her and said with an exasperated smile, "Silly girl, don’t feel guilty anymore."
