Chapter 736: Chapter 734 Unrequited Love 6_1

Xu Zeming was taken aback for a moment, apparently not understanding why she would take advantage of her position to help him in such a way.

After all, they weren’t that familiar with each other, were they?

Muxia also felt her motives were too obvious, afraid of exposing them, so she added, "You, you’re Qingchen’s friend, and, ahem, that makes you my friend too. Isn’t it right to go through fire and water for a friend?"

Sorry to my half-brothers, but I can only use you as a shield now.

Muxia silently added this thought in her heart.

That’s the spirit.

Xu Zeming smiled with narrowed eyes, his smile sparkling and extremely charming, "Then thank you, Muxia. You really are a good girl."

Even though the teacher wouldn’t reprimand him just for having his name taken down, it’s certainly better not to have it noted at all.

You really are a good girl...

Good girl...

Girl...

Girl!

In Muxia’s mind, fireworks seemed to burst forth, so excited she felt like jumping up and spinning around twice.

Oh my gosh, the senior actually complimented her!

Ahhh!

Roar!

But, no matter how excited she was inside, Muxia remained very calm on the surface, "You flatter me, senior."

Before leaving, Xu Zeming casually asked, "Muxia, how’s your stomach?"

When reminded of it, Muxia thought of the bloodbath scene in front of him from yesterday, but then recalling the senior’s concern for her, she felt both embarrassed and happy at once, "It’s nothing, all better now."

Xu Zeming nodded and left.

Even after he had walked away, Muxia still gazed longingly at his retreating figure, as if she could turn into a ’waiting for one’s husband’ rock at any moment.

"Wake up, the guy’s gone without a trace, what are you still looking at?" The deskmate came over, exasperated, and nudged her shoulder.

"I wasn’t looking at anything," Muxia hastily snapped out of it and retorted defensively.

After giving her a disdainful look, the deskmate noticed her empty notebook, "Didn’t you say you’d take down his name? Why didn’t you?"

"Well..." Muxia stumbled, pulling her aside and whispering, "Please, he’s my friend, let’s forget it this time."

How could she possibly write down the name of the person she liked and have him criticized!

"You like him, don’t you?" the deskmate asked bluntly.

Muxia’s face turned red again, as she denied, "I, I do not!"

"Yeah right, you won’t admit it!" The deskmate responded with displeasure and rolled her eyes at her again.

Then her tone softened, "Since he is someone you like, I’ll let it go this time."

Muxia playfully pinched her face, "You’re the best. I’ll get you ice cream later!"

"Two!" the deskmate bargained.

"Deal!" Muxia agreed without hesitation.

When the bell rang for class to start, Muxia and her deskmate were able to head back to the classroom.

After class, as promised, Muxia treated her deskmate to ice cream.

Before entering the store, Muxia saw Jiang Qingchen standing there.

"Qingchen, are you here to buy snacks too?" Muxia let go of her deskmate and dashed to his side, staring at him with wide eyes full of curiosity and surprise.

"You always say the stuff they sell here is junk food and unhealthy, so do you now want to taste what junk tastes like?" Muxia asked.

"Not really," Jiang Qingchen said with a hint of disdain as he curled his lip.

He definitely didn’t have the habit of eating trash.

Muxia was bewildered, "Then what are you doing standing here?"

Could it be just to look around or to sniff around?

Jiang Qingchen looked down at her condescendingly, "I’m here to supervise you."

"Supervise me on what?" Muxia was even more confused.

Jiang Qingchen clarified, "Obviously, to see if you’re buying any cold items."

Muxia: "...!"

She looked at him with an indescribable expression, "Jiang Qingchen, you’re seriously like my dad!"

Her dad liked to impose all sorts of restrictions on her.

"Then let’s hear you call me that." Jiang Qingchen said with interest, tilting his chin up a bit.

"Jiang Qingchen! You’re really taking advantage of the situation, aren’t you!" Muxia put her hands on her hips, glaring fiercely at him.

This guy, he’s really pushing it!

Jiang Qingchen snorted, folded his arms, and urged her with his eyes lowered, "Go buy it now, if you dawdle any longer, the bell for class is going to ring soon, and then you won’t be able to make a purchase."

"That’s because you delayed me!" Muxia glared at him again and then hurriedly trotted into the convenience store with her short legs ’thump thump thump.’

When she came out after making her purchase, Jiang Qingchen immediately stepped in front of her to inspect what she had bought.

"Very good, no cold items." After the inspection, Jiang Qingchen curved his lips up, praising her like one would a kindergarten child.

"..."

Suddenly, she got the feeling that she was being treated like an idiot.

And another thing...

"Can you keep your voice down? Are you eager for everyone to find out I’m on my period or what!" Muxia’s face turned red, promptingly pulling him to the side, "I’m not stupid. I know what I can and cannot eat, so stop worrying about me. You’re acting like you’re guarding a prisoner!"

"Alright, as you wish!"

Jiang Qingchen figured she wouldn’t dare to eat recklessly, so he agreed.

"I’m going back to the classroom now." Muxia left with her deskmate.

Her deskmate bit into an ice cream while saying, "In my life, I’ve never seen a guy as considerate as him."

To go to the extent of guarding outside the convenience store to check what Muxia was buying, just to prevent her from eating anything out of line!

"Yeah, whoever becomes his girlfriend in the future is going to be incredibly lucky!" Muxia chuckled impishly.

On their way back, the high-school section’s broadcast system began to play.

It was about the election for the student council president of the high-school section.

One of the names mentioned was Xu Zeming.

"Xu is running for student council president?" Hearing this news, Muxia’s eyes widened with joy.

"I have to help him campaign!" Muxia vowed adamantly.

She couldn’t continue to harbor an unspoken crush; she had to help him as much as possible, like just now with signing his name, to gradually make him aware of her presence, and even her feelings...

Her deskmate, who was also her close girlfriend, seeing how much Muxia truly liked Xu Zeming, offered to help, "I heard Xu’s Chinese essays aren’t great, but aren’t you really good at writing? Why don’t you help him write a speech?"

"If he has a good speech, his chances of getting elected would be higher, and he’ll remember you for it," she said.

Muxia’s writing skills were indeed excellent; she had won many essay awards since elementary school, and during the junior high entrance exams, her essay scored full marks and was even included in the selected works, becoming like a textbook example.

"Right, I can also help him write his campaign speech!" Muxia’s eyes lit up, and she couldn’t help but pat her friend on the shoulder, "You really are my good girlfriend, always coming up with constructive ideas!"

Though Muxia seemed soft and gentle, inside she inherited Xia Ningxing’s stubbornness and decisiveness; when she said she would do something, she did it right away.

When she got home from school that day, she didn’t even bother with homework and immediately took out writing paper to start drafting Xu Zeming’s speech.
