Chapter 735: Chapter 733 Unrequited Love 5_1

Jiang Qingchen frowned more and more at the sight, "How can your room become such a mess?"

This is a pigsty!?

Muxia felt very embarrassed. Although she didn’t think her room was that cluttered, being disliked to such an extent really hurt her pride, "I’ll clean it up right now."

She was about to start, but Jiang Qingchen stopped her.

"Aren’t you feeling unwell? Don’t bother cleaning up, I’ll help you."

She was in a special period, and Jiang Qingchen couldn’t bear to let her do it herself.

Muxia said awkwardly, "No, no, no, it’s too much trouble for you."

"What’s the trouble? We’ve been friends for so many years!" Jiang Qingchen said with lowered eyes.

If Muxia had listened carefully, she would have noticed that he never treated her like a sister, always using the word "friend."

While Jiang Qingchen was tidying the room, Muxia started to feel drowsy.

By the time Jiang Qingchen had finished cleaning the room and had washed the dirty clothes she had changed out of, he found that Muxia had already curled up on the bed and fallen asleep at some point.

Jiang Qingchen slightly knit his brows and went to tuck her in with the blanket.

He also turned up the temperature of the air conditioner.

Even though the heat of summer lingered, she was in a special period and needed to be careful.

When Muxia woke up, Jiang Qingchen had already left.

She yawned, climbed out of bed, and walked straight into the en-suite bathroom.

She wanted to wash the blood-stained clothes.

Even though there was a maid at home, she had taken a leave a couple of days ago to care for her daughter-in-law and hadn’t returned yet.

If the blood-stained clothes weren’t washed promptly, the stains might not come out later.

It was her favorite pair of jeans, after all.

But, when Muxia entered the bathroom, she found the basin empty, not even a thread in sight, let alone clothes.

And the basin had been moved from the floor to the rack.

"That’s strange, where are my clothes?" Muxia said, bewildered, as she walked out and called out, "Sis, where are the clothes from my bathroom? Did you wash them for me?"

No sooner had she spoken than Muxia saw her underwear being aired out on the small balcony of her room.

It really was her sister who washed them.

That’s what Muxia instinctively thought.

After all, it was only her and her sister at home. If it wasn’t her who had helped wash them, who else could it be?

"You wish. Do I look like someone who would wash your clothes? Please, I’m too lazy to wash my own clothes; they’re still piled up there!" Nianxia blurted out, munching on an apple leisurely.

Then she took another bite of her apple.

Muxia: "..."

Definitely her real sister.

With the apple still in her mouth, Nianxia said somewhat indistinctly, "It was Jiang Qingchen who washed your clothes for you."

"What?" Muxia was stunned, even frightened.

It was him who washed them?

The thought of a grown man handling her clothes, especially washing them... Muxia felt her face burning with embarrassment and didn’t dare to think any further.

She bit her lip and looked up at the clothes hanging on the drying rack.

The jeans and underwear had been washed so clean, not a single trace of blood remained.

She knew how hard it was to clean clothes stained with blood, yet he had managed to make them spotless, which must have taken quite an effort.

Muxia was a child who believed in gratitude and paying it forward; she immediately ran to the balcony, tiptoed, and shouted towards Jiang’s house, "Jiang Qingchen, thank you for washing my clothes. I’ll treat you to breakfast tomorrow morning, buy whatever you like!"

The girl shouted, her hands cupped around her mouth.

Hearing this, Jiang Qingchen came to the window and gave her an ’ok’ gesture, "Sure, now get back inside quick, it’s too sunny outside."

Muxia returned, and as Nianxia bit into her apple, she voiced her opinion, "Jiang Qingchen is really good to you. Why bother pining over Xu Zeming? Why not just date Jiang Qingchen instead?"

From her perspective, Jiang Qingchen was n times better than Xu Zeming. She couldn’t understand what her sister saw in others, ignoring such an excellent guy and choosing to chase after someone else instead.

If it weren’t for the fact that she really wasn’t attracted to Jiang Qingchen, she would have wanted such a considerate guy for a boyfriend.

"And you two grew up together, knowing each other inside and out—how great is that!" Nianxia truly didn’t want her sister to miss out on such a good guy.

Muxia felt helpless and spread her hands out to her sister, "Sis, please, Jiang Qingchen is almost like a real brother to me!"

How could she possibly date him?

"But can’t you just not treat him like your real brother? After all, he isn’t actually your real brother."

"I probably can’t..."

Okay.

It’s like playing the lute to a cow.

Nianxia rolled her eyes and tossed away the apple core.

Before leaving, she added, "Never mind, you’re young now, but in the future, you’ll understand who truly suits you."

She spoke with such earnestness as if she were twenty years her senior.

Muxia: "..." Even though they’re about the same age, she always acts so mature!

As for her words, Muxia didn’t take them seriously. At this age, when girls fall in love, do they consider whether the other person is suitable for them, or is it all about the feelings?

...

Muxia was a member of the student council and had to arrive early every Monday and Wednesday. Then she stood by the school gate to check the students coming in, calling over anyone without their student ID to record their name and class.

She had a student council badge hanging on her chest and wore a pink visor cap on her forehead, her clear, sparkling eyes scanning the incoming students to see if they were wearing their student IDs.

And her duty partner was her deskmate.

"Hey, you over there, aren’t you missing your student ID? Please come over here!" her deskmate suddenly called out with righteous indignation, pointing at the person.

Muxia stood beside her, and at the sound of her deskmate’s voice, instinctively looked up at the person in question.

And with that one look...

It was Xu Zeming!

He was walking over with furrowed brows.

He had intended to slip in unnoticed, but he got caught anyway!

Damn it!

"Xu... Xu?" Muxia, upon seeing him, seemed both incredulous and pleasantly surprised, her heart immediately racing, and her cheeks flushed with a rosy tint.

"Oh, so today’s duty is Muxia." Xu Zeming paused, as if just realizing who it was. He raised an eyebrow and the corners of his lips curled into a smile.

"Yes, yes, I... " In front of him, Muxia turned into a stammerer again.

She was frustrated with herself for being so pathetic.

Every time she saw him, she acted like she was shy to death.

Her deskmate had already picked up the record book, looking stern and asked, "Why didn’t you bring your student ID? What’s your name? What year and class?"

"Xu..." Now that he had been spotted, Xu Zeming was quite indifferent about it. After all, no teacher would dare do much about it. He was just about to share his details when Muxia interrupted him.

"I know his name and class, so I’ll record it," Muxia told her deskmate.

Her deskmate nodded.

Once her gaze shifted away, Muxia cradled her flushed face and approached Xu Zeming cautiously, even timidly.

Close enough that she could smell a unique and pleasant scent emanating from him, something like fresh grass or perhaps the smell of sunlight.

Xu Zeming looked at her, puzzled.

Muxia glanced around to make sure no one was paying attention, then whispered in a low voice, "Xu, you better get in quick. Don’t worry, I won’t write down your name."

She always wanted to do something for him, and as the saying goes, ’when you want to sleep, someone brings you a pillow.’
