Chapter 694: Chapter 692: Then I’ll Chase You_1

Chuanchuan attended the lower kindergarten class, while Jiang Qingchen was in the middle class, so they parted ways in front of the teaching building.

Before leaving, Chuanchuan wrapped his chubby little arms around himself, speaking like a little adult, "Qingchen, take good care of yourself in the kindergarten. Eat well, don’t bully anyone, but of course, don’t let anyone bully you either. If someone does bully you, come find me in the Little Sun class, and I’ll help you beat them up!"

"Thank you, Chuanchuan. I’ll take good care of myself, and you should do the same. Eat well, and if you get bullied, come find me, and I’ll stand up for you," Jiang Qingchen said with equal seriousness.

"Ok!" Chuanchuan nodded gravely.

Both teachers exchanged a look, trying not to cry or laugh.

Perhaps because he had an acquaintance like Jiang Qingchen there, Chuanchuan stopped crying for the sake of his pride.

Once in the classroom, seeing his classmates crying loudly, he couldn’t help but curl his lip in disdain.

"Really, what’s there to cry about? What’s so bad about going to school? Don’t you understand that knowledge changes destiny, ignorance!"

While muttering contemptuously to himself, he found a spot to sit down that was pleasing to his eye, completely forgetting that he himself had also been in a crying mess just moments ago.

Teacher: "..."

Felt like she was going to die of laughter.

After seating himself, Chuanchuan took out a children’s classic book from his bag and began reading with relish.

He had been taught to read and recognize words by Sir Lu since he was two years old, so even though he didn’t know many words now, reading a children’s book with pinyin was no problem for him.

Thud thud thud.

Just as Chuanchuan was engrossed in his reading, someone knocked on the table in front of him.

"Who is it?" he asked, frowning with youthful annoyance and lifting his eyes from the book.

As his gaze slowly moved up, and he saw that it was a strange little girl in front of him, his expression soured further, "Who are you? What do you want?"

So rude, to disturb someone while they’re reading!

"You don’t remember me?" The little girl clearly hadn’t expected him to react that way, and she widened her eyes in disbelief as she looked at him.

That look was as if she were staring at a scumbag who refused to acknowledge his own actions.

Chuanchuan took a closer look but still didn’t remember, "Have I met you somewhere before?"

"Of course!" The little girl puffed up her cheeks, sat down beside him, and then said with a blushing face and in a quiet voice, "Don’t you remember? A few days ago in the mall, you bumped into me and then you kissed me?"

"!!!"

Thump.

The book in Chuanchuan’s hands fell onto the desk.

His round eyes instantly widened enormously as he stared at her in shock.

Upon closer inspection, she really was the little girl from that day!

Chuanchuan’s face and ears instantly turned red, as if they’d been brushed with a layer of tomato sauce, and his eyes darted around, scratching his head awkwardly.

The world really is small, to think they could meet again after all those twists and turns.

"Now do you recognize me?" Seeing his reaction, the little girl tilted her head and fluttered her long, dense eyelashes, asking.

Chuanchuan muttered gruffly, "I recognize you now."

"That’s good," the little girl murmured before she propped her cheeks with her hands and continued to stare at him, "Brother, I’m so, so happy to meet you again!"

Her soft, white, tender face beamed with a smile, her brows and eyes curving like crescents, filled with sheer surprise and happiness.

"You have no idea, ever since that day, I’ve been thinking about you non-stop. Sometimes I miss you so much I can’t even eat or drink, and sometimes, even poop doesn’t come out," she continued.

I thought we’d never meet again in this vast sea of people, but unexpectedly, not only did we reunite, we’re also classmates in the same kindergarten!

This must be what they call fate in TV dramas!

Am I to blame for her emotional constipation?

Chuanchuan responded with a mix of disgust and perfunctoriness, "Oh, and then?"

"And then..." The little girl held her face again, leaning close to him, shyly saying, "Then I saw on TV that if someone has these symptoms, it means they’ve fallen in love with the other person, so I’ve fallen for you, can you please be my boyfriend?"

The confession came so unexpectedly that Chuanchuan almost fell off his chair in shock.

He stared with his big, black, grape-like eyes, looking at her in disbelief.

Was he, was he being love-at-first-sighted?

"Do you know what ’boyfriend’ means?" Fearing he might not understand the meaning of the word, the little girl kindly explained, "A boyfriend is someone who will get married and have children in the future, becoming a husband to a girlfriend!"

While talking, her speech was hesitant and choppy, clearly reciting something she had memorized by rote.

Chuanchuan was speechless, "Of course, I know what a boyfriend means, you don’t need to explain it to me!"

Really, such a simple term, even a two-year-old probably knows it!

Let alone someone who’s three!

The little girl stared at him with eager eyes, waiting for an answer, "Since you understand, will you agree to be my boyfriend?"

"I disagree, I’m not going to have an early romance," Chuanchuan rejected her flatly and even took the opportunity to lecture her, "I suggest you put aside these thoughts and focus all your energy on studies. Once you get into university and become a better person, there will be plenty of outstanding guys chasing you."

"Then will you chase me?" The little girl ignored his previous words and asked expectantly.

"Please wake up, it’s daytime, stop daydreaming!" Chuanchuan retorted sarcastically, "Someone as outstanding as me will definitely not take the initiative to chase after anyone."

It has to be said, his caustic manner was just like that of young Lu Tingli.

Like father, like son!

"Then I’ll chase you!" the little girl said, foolishly.

"You’re probably not worthy," Chuanchuan again looked at her with disdain, sizing her up and then glancing at the math problems on her workbook.

She even got such a simple question as 1+1 wrong.

With that intelligence, she probably wouldn’t even make it to university.

And he, on the other hand, was planning to go for a doctorate. He certainly didn’t want a wife who wasn’t his equal in educational attainment.

"You rejecting me so coldly will break my heart," the repeatedly thwarted little girl finally became despondent, retracting her little head, hanging low with her eyes slightly reddened and glistening tears stirring.

Three years of life, her first confession, and it ended up so miserably.

It was... just too, too sad!

Chuanchuan couldn’t help but frown, staring at the little girl beside him. Just as he was about to speak to console her, he found she suddenly stopped crying. Then, with a loud slap on the table, she said:

"But it’s okay, I’ll keep trying to chase you!"
