Chapter 566: Chapter 564 The Child’s First Full Moon Celebration 5_1

"Don’t worry, it’s dried properly, I assure you she won’t catch cold," Lu Tingli responded.

The little guy was indeed his offspring—no matter how much he outwardly showed disdain, deep down he loved him and would of course take good care of him.

Xia Ningxing looked over at the little one and, seeing that he was as Lu Tingli had said, she was immediately reassured.

"As long as it’s dry, that’s good."

"Your hair isn’t dry yet, come here, I’ll help you dry it too," Lu Tingli gestured to Xia Ningxing.

While speaking, his eyes and brows were filled with tenderness, a stark contrast to his earlier attitude toward the child.

"Coming," Xia Ningxing said with a smile, walking towards him.

As he helped her dry her hair, Xia Ningxing unbuttoned her shirt to feed the little one.

The little guy was sucking so fiercely that Xia Ningxing inhaled sharply from the pain, her eyebrows involuntarily knitting together.

She gave the little one a helpless stare but couldn’t bring herself to scold him.

However, Lu Tingli didn’t have such reservations and directly chided in a low voice, narrowing his eyes at the little one: "Can’t you slow down a bit! Don’t you know it hurts your mom?"

The little one shuddered and immediately slowed down his movements.

Seeing this, Xia Ningxing was stunned, obviously not expecting the little one to understand, let alone listen to Lu Tingli.

"Lu, what did you do to the baby? How come he suddenly listens to you so well?" she couldn’t help but ask.

Before this, the baby liked to be contrarian with Lu Tingli, even occasionally pooping and peeing on him.

"I didn’t do anything." How could Lu Tingli let her know about his intimidation parenting style, smoothly changing the subject: "What time is your postnatal check-up at the hospital tomorrow? Shall I accompany you?"

Although the baby had been born and she had completed her confinement, adults still needed to go to the hospital for regular check-ups to see how the postnatal recovery was going.

Xia Ningxing didn’t dwell on the earlier topic and followed his lead, replying: "Around nine o’clock, aren’t you busy with work tomorrow? There’s no need for you to accompany me, I can go by myself."

"All right then," Lu Tingli, thinking about the pile of work at the office, couldn’t help but press his temples, then added: "Just remember to bring a bodyguard and be careful."

Otherwise, if the media or fans found out, they would definitely be besieged from all over the city.

"Don’t worry, Lu, I’ll be careful," Xia Ningxing kissed his handsome cheek, happy with his attentive care.

Because the child was still there, Xia Ningxing’s kiss was like a dragonfly skimming the water, brief and light.

Just as she was about to let go, he suddenly pulled her in by the nape of her neck and planted a deep French kiss on her.

As if Lu Tingli would let go of meat that had delivered itself to his mouth!

Xia Ningxing accepted it, soft and pliant.

Meanwhile, the little one, seeing the two of them actually kissing, stared with wide, clear, innocent eyes, watching them intently.

What were they doing?

The one-month-old had no idea about kissing and was incredibly curious.

Not until both had parted did he keep staring at them intently.

Then, when Xia Ningxing held him, he imitated Lu Tingli, pressing his little hand against her head and his rosy little mouth against his mother’s lips.

"What are you doing? Little rascal!"

Fortunately, Lu Tingli noticed his intention and promptly stopped him.

"Save your mischief for your woman in the future, not my woman," Lu Tingli warned him with a stern face.

The little one was most apprehensive of his stern face and immediately cowed, no longer daring to kiss.

Xia Ningxing was embarrassed, "Lu, you’re really too much!"

He’s even jealous of his own child.

"I was just joking with him," Lu Tingli spoke half in truth and half in jest, not wanting to earn the reputation of being a green-eyed monster.

Xia Ningxing snorted, not buying it for a second.

"It’s getting late, baby. Time for us to sleep," her voice was as tender as dripping water, as she carried the little one to the bed.

Xia Ningxing had originally intended for the little one to sleep between her and Lu Tingli.

But Lu Tingli frowned with distaste, "Put him in the crib, or on your side. I don’t want to sleep with him."

He only wanted to cuddle with his wife in his sleep, certainly not with the stinky little boy!

"Aww aww!" The little one immediately let out a dissatisfied baby cry, seeming to not want to sleep with him either, and actively moved his little body as far away from him as possible.

Seeing the father and son duo acting like sworn enemies, Xia Ningxing was truly at a loss for words.

"Alright, alright, if we’re not sleeping together, then we’re not," Xia Ningxing, helpless, picked up the little one from the middle and placed him on her side instead.

Only then did the two males, big and small, settle down.

Lights out, sleep.

Xia Ningxing hugged the little one, and Lu Tingli hugged Xia Ningxing.

A family of three, all nice and snug.

The little one was really well-behaved, never crying at night. When hungry, he would just stretch out his small hand to find food and put it into his mouth.

If he needed to poop or pee, he would just make a noise or two. As soon as Xia Ningxing or Lu Tingli changed his diaper, he wouldn’t fuss anymore. After chuckling happily, he would continue to sleep with his fingers in his mouth.

He couldn’t be any better behaved!

That was the main reason why Lu Tingli agreed to let Xia Ningxing take the baby with them at night.

Otherwise, no matter how much Xia Ningxing pleaded, he wouldn’t allow this little troublemaker to sleep with them.

The next day, Xia Ningxing went to the hospital on time.

Since she had an appointment for a check-up, she could go straight in upon arrival.

Without the need to queue up, the check-up went very quickly. There weren’t many postnatal checks to be done, so it didn’t take half an hour for Xia Ningxing to finish.

The results would be out in about half an hour.

Xia Ningxing was currently sitting in Uncle Lu’s office, drinking tea.

"Uncle Lu, has the hospital encountered any difficult diseases lately?" Xia Ningxing asked while sipping her tea.

She was now the special consultant for Lu Hospital and Uncle Lu would usually consult with Xia Ningxing on diseases he was unsure of.

Uncle Lu shook his head, taking a sip of his tea, "Not recently."

"That’s good," Xia Ningxing felt relieved.

She’d rather have all the doctors in the world unemployed than to see people getting sick.

"Exactly, best if there’s none!" Uncle Lu said as well.

As they were chatting, a doctor ran in sweating profusely and anxiously reported, "Dean, the patient with a severe cold who was admitted this morning has suddenly worsened. He has now fallen into a coma and has a persistent high fever, began vomiting blood, and is close to dying. The family is causing a disturbance, claiming there was malpractice in our treatment. Please come quickly!"

"Wasn’t it just a common cold? All the tests came back normal; how can it suddenly become so serious?" Uncle Lu slammed his hand on the desk in shock as soon as he heard this.

With all other tests being normal, it logically shouldn’t have escalated to this severe a condition.
