The quiet of the old quadrangle courtyard was restored once the Wei Family and the imposter Lu Lao’er were gone.

"Finally, some peace and quiet." Sir Lu stretched leisurely before immediately leading Xia Ningxing and the others into the hall.

He kindly beckoned, "Please, everyone, take a seat wherever you like."

Then, he instructed, "Fan, remember to notify the other members of the Lu Family to come to the old mansion tomorrow. I want to formally introduce Jianren’s family to everyone."

After exchanging some family news, Nanny Wu had already prepared dinner and cheerfully called everyone, "Come and eat, everyone. The food will get cold soon, and it won’t taste as good."

Seeing his stubbornness, Mr. Lu and Mrs. Lu said no more, simply replying, "We’ll leave it all to your decision, Dad."

"That’s more like it!" Sir Lu nodded with satisfaction. Then, looking at Lu Tingli, he added, "Tingli and Xingxing will each take a bedroom on the south side."

Although he wished the two could stay together, they weren’t married yet, which wouldn’t be appropriate.

"Thank you, Grandpa," Xia Ningxing smiled and replied.

"What’s there to thank? Aren’t we all family?"

Laughing together in agreement, everyone dispersed to their respective rooms.

"It’s late, time for rest. Do you want to shower first, or should I?" Lu Tingli gently stroked her soft hair, his eyes warm as he asked.

Despite the ancient charm of the quadrangle’s exterior, the interior had been modernized for convenience. The facade remained unchanged, but the inside was updated with modern fixtures, including en-suite bathrooms in the main bedrooms.

However, since they were not staying in the main bedroom, there was only one bathroom between their two rooms.

"You go ahead. I take long showers, and by the time I’m done, you’ll probably be asleep," Xia Ningxing nudged him and then pushed him towards the bathroom.

"Alright, then I’ll go first," Lu Tingli nodded and entered the bathroom with his clothes.

They had gone home to pick up some clothes before arriving at the old mansion.
