Chapter 154: Chapter 154 Xia Ningxing Skips a Grade 5_1

The town high school principal wasn’t about to be outdone, slapping his chest in assurance, "Xia Ningxing, don’t listen to him, if you’re willing to stay at our school, I’ll waive your tuition fee!"

"Pah, what’s a waived tuition fee!" The bald man scoffed coldly, but when he looked at Xia Ningxing again, he wore a gentler expression, and his tone became even more affectionate, "Xia, as long as you’re willing to come to our school, I won’t just waive your tuition fees, but also your boarding fees, and even your meal fees. Plus, I’ll give you an allowance of ten bucks a month!"

He couldn’t believe she would refuse such an enticing offer.

"I’ll give fifteen!" The town high school principal, fearing Xia Ningxing would agree, immediately raised the bid.

"Then I’ll give twenty!"

"Twenty-five from me!"

"Thirty-five!"

"Forty!!!!!"

Seeing that the two men were about to come to blows, Xia Ningxing and Mrs. Xia: "..."

What exactly is going on here?

It’s not plotting something foul?

"Uh, can you guys calm down for a moment?" Seeing that the two were actually starting to duke it out, Xia Ningxing couldn’t help but wipe the sweat from her forehead.

The two in the midst of the fight, suddenly acting like kids chastised by a parent, sheepishly let go of each other, hanging their heads low and eagerly asking:

"Xia, have you decided which school you want to attend yet?"

The two grown men gazed at her non-stop, their eyes filled with anticipation.

Xia Ningxing’s lips twitched as she began, "The town high school."

"Yay!" The town high school principal leapt up, laughing so hard his eyes were nearly falling out, "I knew it, Xia definitely prefers our school!"

"How is this possible!" The stout bald man was dumbfounded, in disbelief.

In this world, there were actually people who would voluntarily choose the lower option; they must be crazy!

How could their city middle school be inferior to this crummy little town high school?

"Mrs. Xia, what do you think?" The bald man looked to Mrs. Xia with his last hope, thinking that while the child might be whimsical, surely the parent wouldn’t be unreasonable, too?

With her head lowered, looking at Xia Ningxing with gentle eyes, Mrs. Xia softly said, "I’ll follow our Bao’er; wherever Bao’er wants to study, that’s where she’ll study."

"Absurd! Absurd!" The stout bald man stamped his feet repeatedly, his face turning the color of liver as he shook with anger, "Xia, why would you choose the town high school!"

In the end, he directed the question back to Xia Ningxing.

He was determined to understand the reason, even if it killed him!

"No reason, I just think the town high school is pretty good," said Xia Ningxing, blinking.

Of course, she wasn’t going to tell them she wanted to stay with Lu Tingli, her childhood friend and the local big shot!

"Ah! This really pisses me off!" Seeing that she had made up her mind, the bald man knew there was no turning back, and began hopping with frustration, "I just don’t get what’s so good about your little broken town, one by one, people are choosing to study here!"

A while back, there was a student named Lu Tingli—they had seen his perfect grades from elementary school and so they tried to recruit him.

They even went to his house personally, waived all sorts of fees for him, then offered him a handsome scholarship annually, practically begging on their knees.

But he refused without a second word.

Just like today!

Damn it!

At this point, he was starting to hate the damn town high school!

What was so good about it that it could compare to their city middle school!

But what the bald leader didn’t know was that these two academic elites once were, one a gifted graduate from the Film Academy, and the other had a Ph.D. from a top international university.

They simply didn’t care about which school they attended; what mattered to them was...

Where he/she would be.

They only wanted to be where the other was.

After all, they were the best of childhood friends.
