The sun was still high in the sky, with red "double happiness" characters pasted on the windows.

The bridal chamber was decorated with balloons, ribbons, and bright red roses.

Their wedding photo hung between the headboards.

The sheets and quilt covers were all bright red.

Especially the neatly folded quilt, sewn with red dates, peanuts, longans, and lotus seeds, symbolizing "may you have children soon."

These were all up for grabs, especially as the children swarmed in, scrambling and tugging at the items. The quilt’s threads even broke in several places due to the frantic pulling, but no one minded on such a joyous occasion.

"You girl, aren’t you embarrassed saying that!" Mrs. Xia’s face turned crimson, almost dripping blood from embarrassment at the second half of the sentence, but she handed over a handful of candy without good grace.

"What’s wrong with talking about having children after getting married?" Xia Ningxing touched her nose, her innocent look both infuriating and endearing.

That caused a good round of laughter among the guests who had come to see the bride.

"Right, isn’t marriage all about planning for children, where’s the shame in that?"
