Xia Jiehao stayed here for dinner tonight and didn’t leave until after the meal.

Before he left, he smiled at Mrs. Xia and said, "Lanzi, I’ll pick you up at eight in the morning tomorrow to take you home to meet mom and dad."

"Got it," Mrs. Xia replied with a blush, then quickly ran inside, like a shy young girl.

The night flew by in a flash.

It was still dark outside when Mrs. Xia got up from bed and then stood in front of her wardrobe, changing outfits back and forth, trying on dozens.

"Mom, Uncle Xia is almost here!" Xia Ningxing, after brushing her teeth, walked out of the bathroom and saw from the balcony that Xia Jiehao’s car was already driving towards the house.

"Are you ready?" She asked when her mother still hadn’t emerged from the room, so she couldn’t help but push open the door to check.

It would have been better not to look, for upon looking...

The floor, the bed, the chairs, all were covered with clothes tossed everywhere, leaving almost no space to step.

"Mom, what is this!?" Upon seeing Mrs. Xia still bent over sorting through clothes, Xia Ningxing couldn’t help but feel embarrassed.

"Bao’er, what should I wear? Which one is the best?" Mrs. Xia quickly pulled her over for assistance as soon as she arrived, "Please, help me decide quickly!"

"Wear this blue cardigan with a white sweater underneath, black pants, and a pair of short boots," Xia Ningxing suggested, picking up a few pieces and placing them in her hands.

Mrs. Xia quickly changed into the outfit.

Looking at her chic and feminine reflection in the mirror, Mrs. Xia finally felt satisfied.

Actually, despite having six children, Mrs. Xia married young, and was only just over thirty at this point, looking no more than twenty-six or seven due to good self-care these past two years.

If it weren’t for her belly, marked with stretch marks, no one would guess she was a mother and might mistake her for a maiden.

Mrs. Xia then combed her recently permed curly hair, feeling incredibly nervous, "Bao’er, come with me today, I’m scared to go alone."

"Mom, what’s there to be afraid of? Jiehao’s grandparents are not monsters or wild beasts," Xia Ningxing said, half laughing and crying. She had never been in love and really couldn’t understand what it was like to meet the parents of a significant other.

But seeing Mrs. Xia breaking out in nervous sweat, she still nodded her head and took her mother’s large hand in her small one, "Okay, I’ll go with you."

At that moment, five curious little heads peeked in, "Mom, shall we go with you too, to boost your courage?"

"Forget about it, you five will only scare them with your antics," Mrs. Xia responded with an annoyed roll of her eyes before pulling Xia Ningxing out of the room.

Even though Mrs. Xia was trying hard to change her traditional preference for girls over boys, deep down she still felt that boys were just baggage, especially when you had five of them!

So frustrating!!

"Oh come on, don’t take it to heart, mom is just joking with you guys," Xia Ningxing turned back to see her brothers looking disappointed and quickly comforted them, waving her hand, "Brothers, we’ll get going now."

"Okay, little sister, we’ll be waiting at home for the good news," the five brothers quickly replied.

Xia Jiehao was waiting outside, and the moment he saw Mrs. Xia emerge, his eyes went wide.

"Lanzi, you look so beautiful."

He exclaimed.

"Stop it, you’re going to make me faint from embarrassment," Mrs. Xia felt like she was about to pass out and quickly covered her face as she dove into the car.

Xia Jiehao and Xia Ningxing also entered the car with smiles.
