Rebirth: He Decides to Lie Flat
Chapter 432 - 432 427 Early Preparations

Chapter 432: Chapter 427 Early Preparations Chapter 432: Chapter 427 Early Preparations Dai Lei had just finished his shower and climbed into bed when he heard the buzzing of his phone next to him, signaling a new text message.

But when he saw the message from Gao Jie, he was dumbfounded. How could it still be insulting him?

Feeling gloomy, he set down his phone, closed his eyes, and tried to sleep.

Yet, after a short while, he opened his eyes again, picked up the phone, and replied with three words: “I’m not!!!”

He used three emphatic exclamation marks at the end.

On July 1st, school had officially ended for summer vacation, and most of the students had already left the campus to return home. A few who had summer jobs didn’t leave, and a handful were planning to have some fun before departing.

Liang Yujun and Sha Yali, to avoid the peak period at the train station, had purposely bought tickets for three days later.

Coincidentally, it worked out perfectly to keep Ding Yuanyuan, who was waiting for Jin Dapang, company.

The three of them went into a store after breakfast to enjoy the air conditioning and waited for Mu Jiawen to bring her little nephew over to play.

Little Yu Ang, at four months old, was adorable and chiseled like a delicate porcelain doll. Carried by Mu Jiawen, the two of them caught the eye of many.

Jiang Yan followed beside the aunt and nephew duo, feeling as if the three of them walking together resembled a family of three.

He walked beside them, holding Little Yu Ang’s hand and teasing him, “Say daddy.”

Mu Jiawen stopped in her tracks, whipped her head around with narrowed eyes, “What did you say?”

Jiang Yan pinched her cheek and teased her, “At this moment, you should be telling him to say mommy.”

Mu Jiawen glared at him, then turned her head and whispered to Little Yu Ang, “Say mommy.”

She had barely finished speaking when her face turned red all of a sudden, and she quickly added, “Say auntie, and that one’s the bad guy!”

Seeing her like this, Jiang Yan couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

“Look over here!”

The trio was standing on the sidewalk; Mu Jiawen was holding Little Yu Ang, Jiang Yan was against the curb, one arm around Mu Jiawen’s shoulders, head bowed close to her, and the other hand holding the plump little hand of Yu Ang.

In that moment they paused by the roadside, Yu Hang, who was emerging from a nearby breakfast shop with a camera slung around his neck, quickly lifted it and pressed the shutter.

And as he called out, Jiang Yan and Mu Jiawen looked up simultaneously, even four-month-old Little Yu Ang turned his wide, curious eyes their way, drool and all.

Yu Hang managed to snap two more pictures.

“Hey, you really do look like a family of three,” he remarked.

He hadn’t gone home last night, and when Jiang Yan saw Zhu Jin coming out of the breakfast shop with him, his gaze flickered. Could it be that these two had spent the night in a hotel?

Tsk, young people nowadays, they really don’t care about propriety.

“Buddy, in two, no, three years, I’ll surely make your wish come true by letting you photograph our family of three.”

Jiang Yan patted him on the shoulder and leaned in to whisper in his ear, “Want to make a bet?”

A bet?

Yu Hang wasn’t falling for his trick. “Although I have an inheritance to rely on and don’t have to worry about food or drink, after finally being free from school, isn’t it better to enjoy a world of just two people? How desperate would I have to be to rush into the hassle of such a troublesome little creature?”

He said this while tilting his chin toward Little Yu Ang.

Seeing the little guy, Zhu Jin also couldn’t help but dote on him. After all, who doesn’t like beautiful things?

But what does that matter?

He knew all too well the turmoil his cousin had gone through after having her baby… Describing it as a complete upheaval was no exaggeration at all—with the whole family taking care of one child, even the elderly had moved in, leaving the couple with absolutely no private space.

Just thinking about it sent shivers down his spine; he certainly didn’t want kids that early.

Was it troublesome?

Jiang Yan turned his head to look at Little Yu Ang, who leaned against his aunt’s chest, his bright eyes curiously watching Zhu Jin, with drool occasionally dribbling from the corner of his mouth—adorable and soft.

Suddenly, Mu Jiawen’s nose twitched. She then turned Little Yu Ang over and sniffed his bottom, her face changing color.

“Jiang Yan, he pooped.”

Jiang Yan hurriedly took a few steps over, skillfully taking Yu Ang from Mu Jiawen’s arms, “Let’s go to the shop to change his diaper.”

Yu Hang and Zhu Jin watched the two stride toward the boutique, their footsteps unconsciously following.

In an empty room on the first floor, Jiang Yan laid Yu Ang on the sofa, swiftly removed his outer pants, then took a diaper from the backpack that Mu Jiawen was carrying. He spread it under Yu Ang’s bottom, tore open the dirty diaper he was wearing, and was instantly assaulted by the stench of poop.

But Yu Hang and Zhu Jin didn’t back away an inch. They watched, eyes wide and mouths agape, as Jiang Yan held Yu Ang’s two little feet with one hand and lifted them, pulling out the soiled diaper and tidily rolling it to one side. He then took two wet wipes from Mu Jiawen’s hand and carefully cleaned the little guy’s butt, before finally sliding the new diaper under him and fastening it.

The entire process was smooth as flowing water—clearly, he had done this many times.

After putting the pants back on and seeing that Little Yu Ang was no longer fussing like before, Jiang Yan patted his little bottom, “Feeling better now, aren’t you?”

Yu Ang flashed him a toothless grin, drool streaming down.

“Ew…”

Jiang Yan handed him back to Mu Jiawen with a look of disgust.

Yu Hang was somewhat dumbfounded, watching Mu Jiawen carry Yu Ang out alongside Zhu Jin, and thought, is this sister just responsible for playing with her nephew?

No wonder she always brought Jiang Yan along. Today, he finally understood Jiang Yan’s true purpose.

“No wonder you want to be a dad. You’ve got all the prep work down already,” he remarked.

To be honest, Yu Hang couldn’t quite understand Jiang Yan. This guy started his own business the moment he got into college, and the scale and success he’d achieved among his peers was definitely top-notch, with some who had graduated from Beijing University for years still unable to match him. He had thought that after graduating, Jiang Yan would aggressively expand his business to new heights.

But who would have thought this guy would be all about getting married and having children.

And he had even learned how to care for a child…

Damn it, he could already imagine—if one day he and Zhu Jin got married and had a child, and he didn’t know how to change a diaper, he would definitely be scorned by her.

You’re setting a bad example, man!

With this thought, he cast a somewhat resentful glance at Jiang Yan.

Jiang Yan, puzzled, asked, “How does my wanting to be a dad get in your way?”

What he didn’t say was, it was not that he was eager to be a dad; he just wanted a home!

On July 5th, the second brother returned to Jianghai Town.

Before coming back, he had contacted Liu Sanshu, Erdan’s dad, to ask for help in getting a few people to renovate their house and yard. Upon his arrival, everyone was busily engaged in the work.

He looked in surprise at the seven or eight strong men working in his own home and asked, “Uncle Liu, didn’t you say that because of Sun Laizi’s scheming behind the scenes, no one was willing to come and help out at my house? How did you find so many people all of a sudden?”

“It wasn’t me who found them,” Liu Sanshu said cheerfully, “Principal Xie helped to find them. You see, youngster, why didn’t you tell me you knew Principal Xie? He’s now a local celebrity here in Jianghai Town, having been featured in the newspaper and even nominated for recognition by the county education department.”
