Chapter 137: Chapter 134 Fake Goods Chapter 137: Chapter 134 Fake Goods “Didn’t you call his cell phone?”
Yu Zekun didn’t care much; he came to the hospital nearly every day, but it wasn’t every day that he could see him.
The inpatient department of the Respiratory Medicine and Neurology weren’t in the same building, so it was normal not to run into each other.
“I did, but he didn’t answer.”
“Then he probably has surgery today.”
As Yu Zekun spoke, he placed a bowl of chicken soup he had poured out on Yu Zexiao’s bedside table and then covered the thermos again.
“I’ll go take a look in his office.”
“Go quickly, tell him to come and check my surgical wound ASAP. Those young nurses are only focused on my face and aren’t thorough at all in their checks.”
Yu Zekun didn’t really want to deal with his foolish younger brother; recalling Yu Feng’s comment that their second uncle’s entire the wisdom had grown on his face, he felt it was quite… apt.
“By the way, big brother, have you seen Xiaosi?”
Just as he was about to leave the sickroom, Yu Zexiao suddenly asked from behind.
Yu Zekun paused in his tracks, shook his head, “Not yet, your sister-in-law didn’t tell me where she is.”
She didn’t tell you, but can’t you look for her on your own?
Yu Zexiao felt that his big brother wasn’t much better than him.
Yu Zekun made his way to Yu Feng’s office, a route he knew well, and upon pushing the door open, he found it empty.
Yu Zekun didn’t think of asking the nurses and instead sat down behind Yu Feng’s desk, intending to leave a note.
He was halfway through writing when the pen ran out of ink; he threw it down, intending to grab another, but the discarded pen rolled off the desk.
As Yu Zekun bent down to pick it up, he accidentally knocked open the bottom left drawer slightly, revealing a pink corner inside.
His gaze lingered there for a moment before he pulled open the drawer and, sure enough, saw two pink envelopes sealed with red heart-shaped stickers inside.
He had long become accustomed to his son receiving love letters.
What frustrated him was that to date, not one of the three brothers had a proper girlfriend.
He rummaged through the drawer a bit more and found, aside from the love letters, a brown paper bag with its contents unknown.
At the very bottom, there was a long, flat blue tin box.
Looking at the tin box, Yu Zekun felt a strong sense of familiarity, as if he had seen it somewhere before.
He reached to pull it out to take a closer look but accidentally brought out the brown paper bag as well; the top wasn’t sealed, and several sheets of paper half-slipped out, with the words “Paternity Test” especially prominent on the top sheet.
A flash of surprise crossed Yu Zekun’s eyes. He set the tin box aside and picked up the paper bag, pulling out the sheets of paper to carefully examine them.
The paternity test didn’t list the names of the persons tested, but the final result read “Paternity not established.”
Paternity not established?
Was this the test between Chen Yan and the Xiaosi they found?
Apart from this, Yu Zekun could not think of any other reason why such a test would be kept in Yu Feng’s office drawer.
So all this time, Chen Yan and Yu Heng didn’t let him see Xiaosi because they weren’t sure she was the real one?
Did Chen Yan and Yu Heng know the result?
Yu Zekun looked again at the date of the test; it was last week. The results had been out for ten days now.
Knowing Yu Feng as he did, if he had already told his mother and his older brother, he would have destroyed the test and thrown it away by now; it wouldn’t still be lying intact in the drawer.
Yu Zekun pulled out his cell phone and called Chen Yan, but as expected, she didn’t answer.
She was really starting to care less and less about him.
He had no choice but to call Yu Heng–
“Xiaoheng, is your mom with you?”
“I don’t know, I haven’t gone back yet.”
Yu Zekun thought for a moment and said, “I’m heading over to your place now, go home in half an hour, I have something important to discuss.”
After he finished speaking, he hung up the phone, then picked up the leather bag and stood up to leave.
After hanging up the phone on the other end, Yu Heng turned to Yu Feng and Yu Ci and said, “Stop waiting, she probably went shopping, who knows when she’ll be back.”
Yu Ci looked gloomy. He had sneaked over during the day for a quick glimpse and felt like his little sister had changed since childhood and yet simultaneously hadn’t, which made him itch with curiosity to take a closer look, to talk to her.
But how could she have left in the blink of an eye after dinner.
He complained to the two, “Don’t you two have any sense? You come every day and still haven’t bought everything she needs? You’re not acting like brothers at all.”
The two stared back expressionlessly.
Yu Feng stood up from the steps, patting his behind, “Let’s go, boss, we see our little sis every day, we’re already familiar with her, missing one day is nothing. Unlike some people, who have known for over twenty days and only just got back…”
Yu Ci glared, “Scram, scram, scram! Both of you scram. I’ll wait here alone.”
Yu Feng snickered, “Does Xiaosi know who you are?”
Yu Ci: …
That hurt like hell!
Yu Heng said impatiently, “Stop arguing, dad said he’s coming over, let’s go back and see.”
Reluctantly, the three left the girls’ dormitory No. 4 and had barely returned to the apartment when Yu Zekun arrived with the leather bag in hand.
Yu Feng stared at the bag in his hand, frowning slightly, “Dad, what are you holding there?”
“What is this?”
Yu Zekun snorted coldly and slapped the bag onto the coffee table, “Looks familiar, doesn’t it? I’m asking you, did you get the results and not tell your mom?”
Yu Feng looked at his father for at least ten seconds, not answering his question, but instead asked, “Why did you go through my drawers?”
At this point, Yu Zekun actually felt a bit guilty, but with the test results in front of him, he was fiercely self-assured.
“At a time like this, you’re dwelling on such trivial matters? I called you guys so many times before, asking where Xiaosi was, demanding to see her, and you stubbornly refused, turns out you found an imposter, she isn’t Xiaosi, right?”
The room suddenly went quiet, with Yu Heng and Yu Ci both looking at him in shock.
Finally, Yu Ci reacted first, he grabbed the leather bag from the table, swiftly pulled out several pages, and flipped directly to the last page—the bottom right corner starkly showing “Parent-child relationship not established”!
Yu Heng glanced over without concern.
He asked Yu Feng, “Whose test is it?”
Yu Ci turned his head to look at him and understood in a second; this DNA test wasn’t between mom and Xiaosi at all.
Just then Mu Chenyan walked in the door, and, upon seeing Yu Zekun standing in the living room, raised an eyebrow, continuing to take off her shoes indifferently, she asked, “What are you doing here?”
“What am I doing here? I’m not supposed to come, is that it?”
Thinking about how they were all living together happily, while he was alone in the empty villa, he felt astonishingly angry.
“Mu Chenyan…”
Mu Chenyan was really impatient to deal with him. After changing her shoes, she didn’t even glance at him and turned to go to her room to change clothes.
“You… The daughter you found is a fake, Yu Feng did a DNA test, she’s just an imposter!”
Mu Chenyan stopped, turned her head to look over, not at Yu Zekun, but at Yu Feng.
“It’s not, Mom, this test isn’t between you and Xiaosi, it’s between Uncle Er and Yu Xin.”
