Chapter 377: Chapter 363 Disassociate

"Don’t be fooled by the water leaking into the submarine; the inside actually hasn’t been soaked at all. Probably because protective suits are available for such emergencies, the designers thought things through very thoroughly and used double doors, just like the emergency passages on spaceships and the ones at the Dá’ěr tribe residence."

To ensure there was nothing else amiss, Lu Yun thoroughly checked inside and outside of the submarine again in her space. Only when she felt satisfied did she turn to Shitou with a smile.

"That’s good. I’ll try to see if the submarine can be started. If it can, we’ll go straight from here and first gather those members of the Da’er Clan into my space before coming back here and going ashore."

After some thought, Shitou said, "Once we get back, we’ll just hand over both the submarine and the spaceship."

"Not going on an adventure?" Lu Yun pouted, clearly not pleased.

"The mission was originally to find ores. Now that we’ve got the ores, do you think the leaders and grandpa will easily agree to let us go out and take risks again?"

Shitou’s gaze flickered, and he gently patted Lu Yun’s head, but his thoughts were on how even that woman from outer space had capsized in the ditch. This made him realize the danger level was still pretty high.

It’s inappropriate to overexert oneself when not strong enough. It was different when it was just him before Xiaoyun came along, but now...

He admitted that once someone had connections, it became much harder to surge ahead fearlessly. Seeing what happened to that woman, he felt a strong sense of crisis and an urgent desire to enhance his strength.

Whether it’s his own or the strength of humanity on Earth, it’s still too weak.

"Adventure" isn’t off the table, and he never intended to go back on the promise he made to Xiaoyun. But there’s a prerequisite; he needs to be strong enough to protect both Xiaoyun and himself.

Moreover, it seems like Xiaoyun’s space isn’t very reliable; it might fail when it’s needed most. So, in the future, he’d have to push Xiaoyun to practice her spiritual power more, to prevent her Space Stone from pulling another silly stunt and losing connection again.

Having made up his mind, Shitou cautiously said to Lu Yun, "A wise man does not stand beneath a dangerous wall. Be good, we’re not in a hurry at this moment. Adventure can wait until we’re strong enough. For now, we should focus on training and advancing our Physical Art. Besides, what’s the fun in only exploring on Earth? There might be plenty of opportunities for interstellar exploration later on..."

"Shitou, you’re lying, hmph, you’re just dangling a carrot in front of me."

Lu Yun angrily pounded Shitou with her fist a few times and turned away, huffing with annoyance.

"No, I’m serious," Shitou said, embarrassed.

"Right, you’re seriously dangling a carrot in front of me." Lu Yun deliberately grimaced and pouted, pretending to be angry. She sneakily observed Shitou’s bewildered look, found it extremely amusing, and couldn’t help but allow the corners of her mouth to curl up. She quickly resumed her annoyed expression.

"You heartless, naughty girl."

Lu Yun’s subtle facial expressions couldn’t be hidden from Shitou’s discerning eyes. He instantly knew that his silly girl was just pretending, so he chuckled and reached out to tickle her.

Seeing the situation turning unfavorable, Lu Yun quickly chuckled and leaped to escape, but how could she evade Shitou’s "devil’s claw"? The two laughed and frolicked for a while, until it finally ended with Lu Yun gasping for breath and laughingly begging for mercy—

"How come I didn’t know that your space was a ring?" After the laughter, Shitou, with his arms around Lu Yun, asked with curiosity.

"I have no idea either. Look, do I have any ring on my hand? The space just appeared out of nowhere..." Lu Yun paused, then realizing what Shitou was talking about, she also started to frown, and after thinking hard for a long time they still had no clue. They could only put it aside for now.

"It seems your space isn’t too reliable either. What if one day you lose contact with it or something, what will you do?" Shitou finally said.

"Exactly, so a Space Stone is also something to be equipped with as a contingency, otherwise it would be disastrous if it failed at a critical moment." Lu Yun decided after pondering with her chin propped on her hands.

"The key is still one’s own strength is more important; all these are but external means. They can be used to assist, but one shouldn’t completely depend on them." Shitou reiterated, "I will be supervising your cultivation from now on."

"Alright, I guess you make a good point—Butler." Lu Yun agreed with Shitou’s words, chuckling, with her tone deliberately heavy on the last three words.

Shitou laughed, pulling Lu Yun along, "Let’s go to the study first; there’s something else we need to take care of."

"What else do we need to take care of?"

While asking, Lu Yun instantly transported herself together with Shitou to the study. She watched Shitou take out paper and pen and ask her for the notebook of that extraterrestrial woman named Helen. He opened it and carefully pondered over it, then started to try and mimic the writing. That’s when she had her realization, "You’re going to forge her testament?"

"Exactly. The things we discussed earlier could make the Chairman and Grandpa misunderstand that this woman was your mentor, which naturally would lead to them having a favorable impression because of the things you acquired from her, treating her as someone worthy of gratitude."

Shitou patiently explained, "That’s us, if we hadn’t seen that video, if we hadn’t realized her malice towards Earth, we might also have imagined her as a good person."

"It’s precisely because that video isn’t suitable for exposure, and yet we need to turn around everyone’s favorable impression of her, so we have to forge a testament."

Lu Yun caught on immediately and felt relieved that Shitou had thought of this in time. Otherwise, she would have had to show "respect" for that woman in front of the leaders, Grandpa, and her own grandparents and parents, or she would appear ungrateful, which really would make her spew blood.

"Right, if she hadn’t had such malicious intentions, our respect for her, and even allowing history books to glorify her in the future, would not be a problem. After all, your space, spiritual power, and Physical Art all originated from her disastrous experiences..."

"And the spaceship and submarine we obtained will greatly accelerate the advancement of our civilization. Remembering the source of our water when drinking from it; our gratitude towards her is not misplaced.

But she absolutely shouldn’t have had such thoughts. If she had succeeded, I can’t even begin to imagine what Earth would face in the future, nor do I know if humans would ever have a chance to turn things around. And even if they did, the price paid would probably be extremely gruesome.

You tell me, knowing what kind of person she is, can there be even a tiny bit of her that deserves our respect?"

Shitou snorted coldly, "That’s why I have to concoct something to clear your relationship with her and then expose her nefarious schemes to the Chairman and Grandpa. Only by doing so can we arouse their sufficient vigilance."
