Chapter 373: Chapter 359: Found (Two-in-One Chapter)_3
"Earthquakes, tsunamis, gales, storm surges—encountering any of these without the ability to avoid them in time can be deadly, not to mention the various known and unknown dangerous creatures that live in the depths of the sea, such as the box jellyfish, giant octopuses, Chironex fleckeri..." Shitou meticulously listed.
Lu Yun nodded, carefully observing Shitou’s face which now showed a trace of weariness. Glancing at her watch, she realized it was already 2:40 in the morning, her heart ached with pity as she reached out to drag him into their shared space, "It’s already the middle of the night, time to sleep. Do you want to have some late-night snacks before we sleep?"
"Not hungry, eating too much will only keep me awake." Shitou shook his head, stretching out his hand to pull Lu Yun down to lie beside him and enveloping her in his arms, he closed his eyes, breathing in the fresh scent of her body.
Shitou quickly fell asleep, while Lu Yun couldn’t sleep at all due to being overly alert.
With her eyes closed as she lay there, her mind was a kaleidoscope of strange and erratic thoughts that surged uncontrollably, and though she couldn’t pinpoint exactly what she was thinking, she felt increasingly awake...
She tried not to think, but the ideas acted as if they had minds of their own, and her will to suppress them wasn’t strong enough—it seemed that she didn’t really want to sleep after all. So she gave up and let her imagination run wild, until at some point, she finally drifted off into a deep sleep—
"Morning."
Lu Yun slowly came to, her eyes not fully opened yet, when she felt her lips covered by a familiar scent and soon pried apart. She instinctively wrapped her arms around him, igniting a firestorm of passion.
"Stop it, I haven’t even brushed my teeth yet..."
Lu Yun whined in a soft voice, her alluring eyes forming a glare as she weakly pushed at the Rake in front of her. To her dismay, he barely moved upon being pushed, and just as she fell back onto the large bed, pulling him with her.
She glared furiously at Shitou, who was now showing an unabashed and smiling face, and, failing to restrain her anger, she bit down on his pectoral muscles, nearly gritting her own teeth in the process.
"Stop it, my teeth hurt..."
"How can this be my fault?"
Shitou looked up at Lu Yun’s frustrated face and couldn’t help but chuckle.
"Hmph, if not you, then who? Blame me? Lu Yun snapped.
"Blame me, blame me. Happy now?" Shitou said, laughing heartily, then affectionately rubbed his forehead against hers and cooed, "You little lazy pig, you sure can sleep. Do you know what time it is? The sun’s already shining on your butt."
"Ah, it’s already half past ten. Why didn’t you wake me up earlier? And then... wasting time..." Lu Yun looked at the time and almost jumped up in alarm, accusingly staring at him.
"Before, I saw you were sleeping soundly and didn’t have the heart to wake you. And after? That was my treat; how is that a waste of time?" Shitou defended himself with a peck and then pulled her up, "Anyway, we couldn’t have made it in time today no matter what. We will have to wait until daylight tomorrow, so why the rush? But now that we’re up, we should get ready to go up."
Lu Yun rolled her eyes nonstop at his words.
Though Shitou talked like that, he didn’t actually rush Lu Yun at all.
The two of them got up leisurely and enjoyed a lavish meal that they weren’t sure whether to call breakfast or lunch. Finally, they exited their space, dressed in protective gear, and left the spaceship to head upwards.
...
The next day.
Lu Yun and Shitou stood side by side on the deck of the cruise ship, watching a red sun rise from the sea.
Suddenly, Lu Yun recited, "The sun’s initial rise is fiercely bright, as millions of mountains burst out like fire. In an instant, it climbs the sky, chasing stars and the waning moon away."
"This ’First Sunrise’ poem was written by Zhao Kuangyin before his rise to power. Later, someone commented that it somewhat foretold his destiny. But in fact, wasn’t it also that he had ambitions from that day on, to spontaneously compose such verses? Zhao Kuangyin’s dreams eventually came true, and I believe our chances of success today will undoubtedly be very high," Shitou laughed upon hearing her recite the poem.
"I was just moved by seeing the sunrise and recited a verse, and you made a whole story out of it. You really overthink things," Lu Yun said, rolling her eyes at him.
"..." Women are as unfathomable as the sea.
Shitou felt unjustly targeted and couldn’t help but give a wry laugh, muttering a tiny grievance to himself.
"Are you sure this is the right direction?" Lu Yun looked around, still admiring Shitou’s abilities—her impression of him from two lifetimes was that he was almost omnipotent.
"More or less," Shitou replied, his demeanor instantly turning serious as he addressed the matter at hand.
