Chapter 353 - 341: Any Harvest?

Chapter 353: Chapter 341: Any Harvest?

"No rush, everything isn’t ready yet, and even if we turned it on now there would be nowhere to put it," Shitou shook his head.

"That’s true, such a huge spaceship and the small island we’re currently on probably doesn’t have an area flat and large enough to accommodate it. We should indeed find a place to park it first, then construct a research facility or something there, right?"

After a moment of thought, Lu Yun suddenly realized, "So we really should take the spaceship’s dimensional data back with us, shouldn’t we?"

"Exactly."

Shitou smiled, fondly touched Lu Yun’s hair, and chuckled, "I hadn’t thought things through before. Let’s stay for another day and collect more data. We can use the equipment here to create three-dimensional projections of these things to take back, including the spacesuits, weapons, energy blocks... and use the Space Stone to bring back a small sample of each."

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that. If we just went back empty-handed, how could it compare to showing them these detailed 3D projections?" Lu Yun nodded in total agreement.

"Don’t forget that we also need to make two extra copies of all the data from this spaceship and save them in your space. Especially the blueprints for the spaceship’s construction; if we don’t save them now, once we hand over the spaceship later, it might not be so easy to keep a copy for ourselves."

Shitou pondered, these items were originally discovered by Xiaoyun after all. Keeping a copy for oneself wasn’t unreasonable. Who could claim to be completely selfless in such matters?

Lu Yun quickly caught on and nodded repeatedly, realizing they had almost overlooked this point, "Alright, I’ll do that first thing. I’ll try not to miss anything useful."

The two of them spent another day and a half "filling in the gaps". Only after confirming that nothing was missed did they leave the spaceship. The people on the island had been waiting anxiously and were at their wits’ end.

As soon as the two emerged, Shitou motioned for Zhan Hongtao, who was in charge of communications, to contact the helicopter and ordered everyone else to pack up immediately.

The helicopter arrived quickly, and everyone packed even faster. In less than an hour, they were all on the helicopter, leaving the small island behind.

Capital City.

Shitou and Lu Yun met with Elder Pei as soon as they arrived.

"Did you find anything?"

Seeing them return so soon, Pei Qingyuan’s first thought was that they had come back empty-handed again. It made sense; after all, so many people went before, trying almost everything possible, and if they had found nothing over such a long time, how could these two kids have succeeded in such a short period?

The disappointment on Pei Qingyuan’s face was all too apparent, even the tone of his voice carried a hint of dejection. Lu Yun and Shitou couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.

Pei Qingyuan bristled, but since Lu Yun was among those laughing, he held back his anger.

"Grandpa, look at this first."

Shitou stopped smiling, adopting a calm demeanor, took out something, and flipped the switch.

Pei Qingyuan looked over, his eyes widening in surprise, "This, this?"

He stared at the suddenly appearing spaceship, stood up with a whoosh, and moved his eyes close, examining the projection up and down, back and forth, circling it a few times without touching.

Watching him, Lu Yun couldn’t help but laugh, reached out to touch it, her hand passing through the image and then pulled back, saying, "Grandpa, go ahead and touch it, it’s fine."

Pei Qingyuan then reached out his hand, drew it back, and like a child absorbed in a new game, he repeated the motion several times before he inquired of the two, "Did you go inside?"

"Yes, this is the complete exterior of the spaceship, and there’s also the interior."

Shitou pressed another button, and the image switched to the interior of the spaceship: the control room, the armory, the energy room, the entertainment area... They were all just fleeting glimpses, and Pei Qingyuan watched without even blinking.

"Hahaha, well done, lad."

After finishing, Pei Qingyuan couldn’t help but burst into laughter and forcefully patted Shitou’s shoulder.

"Grandpa has more."

Feeling quite pleased with presenting his treasure, Lu Yun pulled out another 3D projector. This time, it was all substantial stuff—it contained maps of the universe and global mineral distribution charts.

Once Pei Qingyuan realized what they were, he became so excited he was at a loss for words, smiling so broadly that he couldn’t close his mouth, "Very good, very good! Wait here; I need to make a call right away."

"We should step out," Shitou suggested, seeing Pei Qingyuan pick up the secure phone to dial. Knowing whom he was calling, he grabbed Lu Yun’s hand and stepped out before Pei Qingyuan could say a word.

Pei Qingyuan was too preoccupied to mind them. By the time he dialed and started talking, he glanced around and realized the two had left. He couldn’t help but chuckle, looking at the projections on the table, his confidence in his speech suddenly bolstered...

Outside the door, Lu Yun snickered to Shitou, "What do you think, will grandpa be so miffed about his impatience making him miss the chance to see the real thing first that he’ll flip his whiskers?"

"He won’t."

Suppressing a laugh, Shitou coolly shook his head, "Grandpa doesn’t have a beard."

"Hahaha--" Lu Yun doubled over with laughter, attracting the attention of the guards by the door.

"Come inside for a moment," Pei Qingyuan called out from the office, gesturing towards the inside.

Lu Yun and Shitou understood immediately and went in to pack up the items.

"Xiaoyun, what were you two laughing about just now that was so funny?" As they were all sitting in the family’s red-flag sedan traveling along the road, Pei Qingyuan curiously asked Lu Yun.

"We were talking about... Grandpa, you’ll know soon enough." I’m afraid if I tell you now, you might lose control.

Lu Yun secretly stuck out her tongue inside her mind.

"How come you’re keeping secrets from Grandpa? Is there something else you haven’t told me?" Pei Qingyuan laughed heartily, clearly in a good mood.

"Grandpa, you won’t get angry when you find out later, right?" Lu Yun’s eyes darted around, seeking Pei Qingyuan’s assurance.

"I won’t get angry, I won’t. With such a great achievement you two have made, it’d be wrong for Grandpa to be upset. Eh, you haven’t really kept anything else from me, have you?" Pei Qingyuan narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

"It’s all because you were in such a hurry to make that call just now..." Lu Yun giggled softly, murmuring, "But it’s not bad news, though."

"Hmm--"

Pei Qingyuan glared sharply at Shitou, holding back, knowing this wasn’t the place to discuss it, and self-deprecatingly chuckled with feigned pity, "I guess I have only myself to blame?"

"We wouldn’t dare blame you." Pouting, Lu Yun couldn’t help but use a whiny tone, "Grandpa, didn’t we agree you wouldn’t get mad?"

"Grandpa is not mad, really not mad. Even if I were, I wouldn’t be mad at you, I’d go after Shitou. It must be his fault." Pei Qingyuan was completely charmed by Lu Yun’s coquetry and broke into laughter at once.

Lu Yun’s face turned red all of a sudden, utterly embarrassed.
