Chapter 331: Chapter 320 Master Ye Loves Dragons (Two in One Chapter)_2

He got up, dressed, and Lu Yun followed him into the kitchen. She didn’t help, simply tagging along behind Shitou, keeping him company with chatter. As they talked, they picked up the conversation where they had left off earlier.

"You’ll have to help me build a wooden rack too, a tiered one, each tier only needing to be as wide as a palm, and ten centimeters high is enough, though it can be longer..."

Thinking it over, Lu Yun felt that explaining it to Shitou this way wasn’t very clear, so she added, "Explaining it like this doesn’t make it clear, I’ll draw a diagram for you later."

"What’s that going to be used for?"

Tied with the apron Lu Yun used, Shitou poured oil into the pan and cracked two washed eggs into it. Then he turned the induction cooker to the lowest setting.

The reason for his meticulousness, even remembering to wash the shells of the eggs, was mainly because he was cooking for Lu Yun. Otherwise, if it had been just for him, would he have been so particular?

In his heart, he really enjoyed Lu Yun’s presence, talking to him without lifting a finger to help; he found the warm atmosphere between the two of them extremely pleasant.

"For growing vegetables on the balcony, and strawberries too. It’s best to lay a layer of small stones on top of the soil where the strawberries will grow to prevent the fruit from touching the soil directly."

Lu Yun nodded her head with pride and said, "How convenient is that! When cooking, I can just pick the veggies I need and stir-fry them – it’s both convenient and healthy."

"Don’t we have a vegetable garden already? You said a while back that you wanted to plant corn, sweet potatoes, potatoes, perilla, leeks, spring vegetables, and kidney beans, and didn’t I plant them all for you? Is it still not enough that you need to grow more at home?"

Could they possibly eat all those vegetables? Shitou expressed his deep skepticism.

"If we can’t eat it all, it won’t be wasted; at worst, we can dry the vegetables and save them for winter." Lu Yun had it all figured out.

"Alright, but are you sure you can take care of it all? It seems that the vegetables in the garden outside have been planted for some time, and you’ve hardly watered them, have you? Su Qiaoling and Wen Shan are taking turns caring for them, are you sure you can manage the ones at home?"

Thinking about it, Shitou found it especially amusing. Lu Yun growing vegetables? That was hardly gardening, just moving her lips.

He had someone else turn the soil, and according to her requests, he found the seeds. She did go to the scene when it was time to plant. Fortunately, with him, Su Qiaoling, and Wen Shan there, they did almost ninety-nine percent of the work while she simply stood by giving directions on where to plant which seeds.

That could have been overlooked, but once the seeds were sown, she just ran over the next day to take a look, took the initiative to water everything without discrimination, nearly drowning the seeds, to the point where Su Qiaoling and Wen Shan couldn’t bear to watch, and they coaxed and tricked her into leaving.

After she left, it took her several days to remember that she had planted vegetables that needed watering. If those seeds in the ground had to rely on her to water them again, they’d be better off hoping for a quicker rain from Mother Nature.

Thankfully, Su Qiaoling and Wen Shan were more reliable and remembered to take care of the newly planted vegetable garden by taking turns.

Finally, when it seemed Lu Yun truly had forgotten, Wen Shan couldn’t help but remind her. Only then did Lu Yun rush to the garden to take a look and, deeply disappointed, said, "How come they haven’t sprouted yet?" and then walked away with a disappointed face...

Su Qiaoling and Wen Shan were torn between laughter and tears, completely giving up on the idea of having Lu Yun genuinely tend to the garden.

In the end, Su Qiaoling even complained to Wen Shan, feeling she shouldn’t have reminded Lu Yun, arguing that Lu Yun was meant for bigger things and asking how her hands could be suited for actually holding a hoe.

After spending time with her, the guards who covertly protected Lu Yun’s safety had come to know her true identity as a Pharmacist. Especially those close to her had taken turns taking medicinal baths and had personally experienced the changes in their bodies, making them all understand the heavy responsibility of their protective duties.

The more Shitou thought about it, the funnier he found it. Lu Yun was usually so reliable in other matters, so why was she so exaggeratedly unreliable in this one?

"Don’t underestimate me, I can certainly do it on my own."

Lu Yun’s voice was initially firm, then it became a bit quieter, and in the end, it was almost whining, "Even if it all goes wrong, isn’t there still the ’Elixir’? I have an even bigger vegetable garden in the ’Elixir’. If push comes to shove, we can simply swap them out."
