Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything!
Chapter 159: The Battle of Stargaze City

Chapter 159: The Battle of Stargaze City

The enemy forces had intended to wait for House Brown before launching their assault. But Igaris had no interest in allowing their presence to linger on his borders a moment longer.

[ Earth Manipulation ]

Standing atop the city wall, he raised his hand high into the air.

BUZZZ!

The very earth trembled.

With a surge of raw power, a massive earth boulder equal in size to an enemy warship formed above him. Then, with a swift motion, he hurled it like a meteor toward the enemy fleet.

"BOOOOM!"

The enemy commanders had assumed he would not dare to make the first move. That assumption cost them dearly.

The boulder slammed into one of the ships stationed at the edge of their formation. A fiery explosion erupted, engulfing the vessel in a cloud of rock and flame. The ship was obliterated instantly.

Nearby warships rocked violently from the residual force, their hulls cracked, sails torn, and decks thrown into chaos.

Panic erupted across the fleet.

"What the hell is that? A single strike destroyed one of our ships!" a young officer screamed.

On the deck of the flagship, Dominic’s face contorted with shock and rage.

"That little bastard has a Manipulation-type ability! Quick, prepare the defensive shields!" he barked, his voice sharp with urgency.

The bald Mythical Rank commander stepped forward, his expression grim. He slammed his palms together, summoning his core essence.

"Divine Dome: Absolute Protection!"

A radiant barrier of golden light erupted around the entire fleet, forming a perfect 360-degree dome. It shimmered like a celestial fortress, rippling with power. Within moments, it enclosed the warships in a seemingly indestructible shield.

The soldiers inside breathed a sigh of relief.

"Nothing can penetrate this! We’re safe!" one of them shouted.

But they celebrated too soon.

He raised his index finger, and an eerie silence fell upon the coast.

His eyes gleamed like a storm about to erupt.

"Let this be your first taste of despair."

[ World Destroying Finger ]

A single finger thrust forward, and reality itself cracked.

"ROARRRR..."

A concentrated silhouette of a annihilative serpentine dragon tore through the air, its power so dense it distorted very space around it. The moment it struck the golden barrier, a thunderous shatter exploded across the sky.

KRAAAK!

The so-called indestructible shield crumbled like glass struck by a divine hammer. The dome splintered in every direction, shards of golden energy raining over the stunned soldiers like falling stars.

The bald Mythical commander’s eyes widened in horror.

"Impossible...!"

But before he could finish his words, the shockwave from the broken dome flung him backward across the deck like a leaf in a storm.

The soldiers inside the fleet panicked, chaos breaking out once again.

"Prepare for combat!" shouted Zeref, voice cracking.

Adrian and Lucius stared up at the coastal wall in disbelief, their arrogance now tainted with dread.

"This... this isn’t the power of a mortal," Lucius muttered, gulping hard.

"That was a Mythical-ranked defensive ability... And yet Igaris broke it with just a finger. You know what this mean, right Adrian?"

Adrian clenched his fist, knuckles turning white. His face turned red with humiliation.

On the wall, Igaris lowered his hand slowly, his expression calm.

But his domineering voice echoed through the battlefield:

"You came to take my city. Now you will leave your life behind."

---

The shattered dome was the final warning.

The skies trembled as the enemy fleet responded with fury.

"FIRE!"

Dominic Ecrox’s voice thundered across the command decks. A thousand artillery turrets mounted on the iron-clad warships glowed red as they surged with mana. In synchronized unison, they fired explosive shells infused with elemental magic.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Fireballs the size of boulders, storm-infused shells, and acid-filled blasts rained toward the coast like a divine calamity. The sky itself darkened, swallowed by the sheer volume of destructive force.

The explosions hit the shoreline with devastating impact, blowing apart chunks of land, charring the sand into glass. The air was ripped apart by concussive force.

And yet...

Igaris’ army did not faltered.

Thousands of monsters and undeads stood motionless under the whistling rain of death. Their bodies glowed with the runic tattoos of submission. Some were covered in crude armor, others wielded primitive weapons or none at all.

Beasts with tusks. Giants stitched with chains. Mechas standing like silent titans. Corpses reanimated with eerie green light.

But none of them ran.

None of them screamed.

None of them flinched.

The artillery fire struck them, but instead of chaos, there was resolve.

The monstrous army, forged through torment and bound by absolute loyalty, absorbed the blow.

Burning. Bruised. Cracked open. And yet, they stood.

From above, Shirley’s lips trembled as she watched it unfold. "They... they didn’t even raise a shield."

"They don’t need one," Evernight said softly. "They fear failing Igaris more than they fear death."

Then came the second wave.

A 100,000 world divers of different paths, positioned behind the fleet, raised their staffs, scrolls, or bare hands.

Arcane Symbols shimmered into the skies like a field of stars.

"Chain of Lightning Volley!"

"Frost Spear Rain!"

"Skyfire Cataclysm!"

"Ten Thousand Blades!"

"Death March!"

The coordinated spellwork of 100,000 world divers unleashed a catastrophic barrage that lit up the sky like a second sun.

Torrents of elemental destruction hurtled toward the coast, distorting the very fabric of the atmosphere.

But this time, the monsters moved.

Not with panic. But as a single, trained wave.

"Roar!"

The front lines surged forward, absorbing lightning with their bodies, freezing in place only to shatter their own restraints with roars.

They fell. Then more rose behind them.

Death was not enough to stop them.

Through the chaos, Commander Malthius marched at the front. His charred bones exposed beneath broken armor. His greatsword dragged along the sand, humming with necrotic energy.

"Advance," he growled, voice like stone grinding against bone.

"Make the invaders feel our pain."

Behind him, Quirky, Irons, Granitus, Serynthia, Moutain King, Alpha, Dred, amd Shadow Reaper followed suit leading their specific battalions into battle.

The 30,000 prisoners, the very same ones once locked in hellish cells, charged with animalistic cries.

"FOR THE OVERLORD!"

"FOR FREEDOM!"

"NO MERCY!"

"WE WILL NEVER BE CHAINED AGAIN!"

Their overwhelming will collided with the enemy lines.

Boom, boom, booom...

Explosions erupted as beast and soldier clashed. Ships tried to retreat but found the shoreline swallowed by earthen spikes. Others tried to fly, only to be ripped down by storm eagles summoned by Igaris’ mages.

Amid it all, Igaris calmly stood atop the wall, cloak dancing in the wind, arms crossed.

He did not need to lift a finger again.

He knew his army of monsters, undead, machines, and prisoners were not enough to defeat the enemies.

But he wanted the Victory to be his. For that he would go through hell if he had to.
