Chapter 62: Chapter 62 This is Very Serious_1

Upon arriving at the grand platform again, there hardly remained anyone there.

However, those two familiar heavenly officials were still present. As soon as they saw Qin Shou and Dog Xiaotian, they immediately approached, but before they could open their mouths—

Yang Jian spoke indifferently, "I’m taking them to the main venue."

There was no room for discussion, just a straightforward notification!

The two officials looked at each other, then back at themselves, and ultimately shrank their necks, swallowing back the words that had reached their lips, not daring to make a sound.

Seeing this, Qin Shou silently gave a thumbs up, muttering, "Badass!"

Upon hearing this, Dog Xiaotian looked up and said, "Of course, badass!"

"I wasn’t even talking about you. What are you getting all smug about?" Qin Shou gave him a disdainful look.

Dog Xiaotian responded, "If my master is badass, of course I have the right to be smug! What do you know?"

Qin Shou curled his lips; he just couldn’t understand the Dog Xiaotian’s way of thinking.

Yang Jian, leading the two, stepped through a light gate, and in the next moment, Qin Shou only felt a fragrant aroma hit his nose as brilliant divine lights flashed, causing him to instinctively shut his eyes.

After a short while, when Qin Shou reopened his eyes, he was utterly dumbfounded!

Before him, everyone was amidst the void, with the vast sun, moon, and stars slowly moving in the sky!

Underfoot were chunks of floating mini mountain peaks, scattered across the starry sky like chess pieces. Between the mountains, flying rainbows spanned, clouds connected, colored ribbons by the thousands, and an exuberance of sharp vital energies...

A golden river meandered between the mountains, sending faint scents of liquor wafting through the air...

Qin Shou involuntarily swallowed his saliva...

The Dog Xiaotian hurriedly reminded him, "Rabbit, this place isn’t like the sub-venues. Our Heavenly Court has thousands of such sub-venues! Those are more laid-back and informal. But here is different, this is where top beings like the Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother gather, and even though we are far away from them, barely visible, remember to keep it together later, and don’t mess around... especially don’t pee anywhere."

While saying this, Dog Xiaotian approached a bamboo, lifted his hind leg, squinted his eyes, looking utterly relaxed...

Seeing this, Qin Shou’s forehead was lined with black streaks.

Although what Dog Xiaotian said was serious, Qin Shou quickly realized that this place wasn’t all that solemn.

Qin Shou saw many immortals gathering in small groups, clinking cups and thoroughly enjoying themselves, without much fuss or formality. The overall atmosphere lacked the stiff air of a court, instead, there was a sense of freedom and carefree enjoyment.

Looking at Dog Xiaotian’s action, Qin Shou understood that this... was perhaps the atmosphere the immortals preferred.

Between the mountains lay a mist-enshrouded lake, on top of which was a crystal-like ice cap, large as a football field, translucent and incredibly beautiful. There wasn’t a soul on it, and Qin Shou guessed that it must be the venue for the upcoming performance.

And the best places to watch the show were the Cloud Altars, rising layer upon layer with a row of tables and chairs on each level, ten in total!

The mountains were arrayed on both sides of the Cloud Altar, dwarfed in height by the altar itself.

Dog Xiaotian said, "Stop gawking; those on Fu Mountain are just rogue immortals without much strength. It’s those on the Cloud Altar who are the real big shots! Up there are powerful rogue immortals, as well as high-ranking immortals..."

At that moment, Qin Shou noticed that Erlang God Yang Jian did not ascend to the Cloud Altar but instead sat down on a small, standalone peak beside it.

Qin Shou asked in surprise, "Even your second master doesn’t have the qualifications to sit on that Cloud Altar?"

Dog Xiaotian curled his lip and snorted coldly, "It’s because our second master disdains it! That Cloud Altar might not look like much, but there’s a trick to it. Ultimately, this world belongs to the Heavenly Court, and under the vast skies, all lands are the Emperor’s dominion, and all stars, under the Overlord.

Therefore, the Heavenly Court has named the ten tiers of the Cloud Altar after different levels of their hierarchy and then ranked the powerful rogue immortals accordingly. Isn’t the implication clear?"

Qin Shou had an epiphany, "So this indirectly tells them, ’You are under my leadership, my control...’."

Dog Xiaotian nodded and said, "Smart... Although the Heavenly Court seldom interferes with the actions of rogue immortals, they are ultimately the rulers of this world. Often, they’ll use various methods to tell you that you’re still under their jurisdiction. But our second master is different; he doesn’t give a fig about them..."

As he said this, Dog Xiaotian lifted his head with a smug look.

Qin Shou couldn’t help but admire Yang Jian. One man against the Heavenly Court? Even though it was a soft defiance, it was still not something just anyone could muster the courage to do.

Following Dog Xiaotian, Qin Shou headed in that direction. As they walked, Dog Xiaotian began introducing, "The top tier of those ten Cloud Altars is reserved for Hongjun Patriarch, who represents the Heavenly Dao, but the Patriarch has never come. The second tier is reserved for Saints, who also have never come. The third tier is where the Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother sit. The fourth tier is for the other Overlords, so it’s only a tad shorter than the third... The fifth tier is where beings like the Keepers of Five Directions sit; the sixth tier is for the Six Star Monarchs of the Southern Dipper, the seventh tier for the Seven Stars of the Far North, the eighth tier for the Keepers of Eight Directions, the ninth tier for the Star Monarchs of Nine Luminaries, and the tenth tier is for the Yama Kings of Ten Halls.

Of course, those are official positions. Rogue immortals are arranged to sit according to their strength and influence... So, if you see a rogue immortal sitting in a position meant for Overlords, don’t be surprised."

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou was taken aback, "There are people who rank above Overlords?"

Dog Xiaotian chuckled, "The world is so big; what kind of people don’t exist? But once one’s power truly reaches that level, they’re most likely in the Purple Sky Palace, not coming out, listening to lectures every day, polishing their own being, seeking breakthroughs."

Even so, Qin Shou marveled. He had thought there were only a few Overlord-level powerhouses, but it seemed that was not quite the case.

Dog Xiaotian casually picked a mountain peak with no one on it and sat down, nonchalantly pushing a plate of fruit to Qin Shou and saying, "Don’t be surprised, there are no fixed seats here; it’s first-come, first-served."

Qin Shou nodded, grabbed a peach and began to munch on it, while his eyes sneakily scanned the area, hoping to spot Chang’e among the mountains. Unfortunately, even after a long look, he found nothing.

"What are you looking for?" Dog Xiaotian asked.

Qin Shou replied, "Looking for our fairy, Chang’e."

Then Qin Shou explained their purpose in coming, and after some thought, Dog Xiaotian said, "Then there’s no need to look. They’re definitely not here. They’re probably down at the lake, preparing for the performance. Just wait..."

Qin Shou nodded...

Just at that moment, the sound of a bell tolled, ringing out eight times!

Dog Xiaotian said, "It’s nearly time now, and all the big shots should be arriving. Little rabbit, it’s time to broaden your horizons. Watch closely."

As he spoke, Dog Xiaotian looked up at the sky, and Qin Shou followed his gaze.
