Rabbit Must Die -

Chapter 44: Chapter 44 Stop! Stay! Shut up!_1
Mo Lishou suddenly had a bad premonition.
But before he could react, he saw the rabbit, as if on drugs, voraciously biting down like a chicken with a speed hack, rapidly munching away!
At the same time, its two little front paws were swiftly shoveling the Demon Subduing Whip into its mouth, and the meter-long whip disappeared as quickly as straw being fed into a chaff cutter!
Finally coming back to his senses, Mo Lishou bellowed, "Stop!"
Indeed, the rabbit stopped, hands down, not moving. However, its little short legs were busy pulling the whip into its mouth at breakneck speed, with its mouth working noisily non-stop!
Mo Lishou yelled again, "I told you to stop!"
At this moment, Chang’e stepped forward and said, "Heavenly Lord, Yu’er is very obedient. You said ’stop’, and he stopped. Look, he isn’t using his hands at all!"
Mo Lishou hastily cried out, "Stop your legs!"
Qin Shou obediently put down his legs, but his mouth kept on going, pecking away like a chicken, rapidly devouring the large whip!
Only then did Mo Lishou realize that he had been led astray by Chang’e. He shouldn’t have shouted ’stop hands’ or ’stop legs’, but rather, "Stop your mouth!"
Crack!
Qin Shou stopped, then wiped his mouth, puffed out his cheeks, raised his head, and looked at Mo Lishou quizzically, as if asking, "What’s up?"
Mo Lishou, watching the Demon Subduing Whip being devoured without even a hair left, was nearly in tears, his eyes bloodshot as he shouted, "You damn rabbit, you ate my Demon Subduing Whip, do you realize your crime?"
Qin Shou, however, seemed nonchalant, unhurriedly crunching the pieces of the whip in his mouth and swallowing them, then smacked his lips and said, "Heavenly Lord, have you forgotten the oath you made? Or is it that you, as a Heavenly God, can freely make oaths without keeping them?"
"Impossible, the Heavenly Dao supervises the earth and heavens; if an oath is made, it is recorded by the Heavenly Dao. If one goes back on their word, the clear and visible Heavenly Dao will deliver punishment. During the Divine Enthronement War, many died because of this," the old Immortal murmured.
Mo Lishou’s face couldn’t be uglier: trouble Qin Shou? He genuinely feared being struck by lightning, utterly destroyed in both body and spirit.
Not trouble Qin Shou? He couldn’t stand the thought! The Flower Mink had been bitten, losing a leg, and now he had lost a Demon Subduing Whip. If word got out, his dignity would be beyond salvage... he would have lost all face.
Just as Mo Lishou was torn in his celestial conflict, he suddenly felt someone tugging at his other whip. Looking down, he saw the chubby rabbit dangling his remaining whip in midair! And when Mo Lishou looked its way, the hateful rabbit even had the audacity to smile at him!
Smile? Smile? Smile at your mother!
Mo Lishou really wanted to curse someone out! Unfortunately, as one of the Four Heavenly Lords, in front of so many rogue immortals, he couldn’t curse! Otherwise, he would be the one losing face!
He, one of the great Four Heavenly Lords, can’t afford to lose face? He couldn’t afford to lose this face.
So Mo Lishou struggled to suppress his anger and asked, "What are you doing?"
Qin Shou replied, "Heavenly Lord, you have such a short memory. You said the Demon Subduing Whips were for me to eat. Since these whips come in pairs, naturally after eating one, I wasn’t full, so I went looking for the second one."
"What? You still want this one?" Mo Lishou really wanted to slap this rabbit to death!
Chang’e stepped forward and said, "Heavenly Lord, everyone knows that the golden whips come in a pair. Since you have given them, naturally, it should be as a pair. If you gave one, keeping the other one wouldn’t be of much use to you, right?"
Flower Mink whispered, "Master Si, this thing is a disgrace; keeping it only brings more shame."
"Shut up! It was all your lousy idea!" Mo Lishou now wanted nothing more than to kill Flower Mink second.
Flower Mink decisively shut his mouth and remained silent.
However, Mo Lishou understood that keeping the single whip would be like holding on to an eternal topic of humiliation. Whenever someone saw him, they would ask, "Where’s your golden whip?" What could he possibly say? That a rabbit gnawed on it like it was a carrot? On the other hand, what’s the use of a weapon that can be chewed on by a rabbit?
It would be better to throw it away now with a touch of grace and earn a bit of a reputation for being decisive and resolute.
So, gritting his teeth, Mo Lishou took down the Demon Subduing Whip and tossed it to Qin Shou, saying, "Take it!"
Qin Shou held the whip and laughed heartily, "The Heavenly Lord is indeed the Heavenly Lord, generous! Brother Flower Mink, your method is really good, in just a moment... cough cough... see you, brother."
After speaking, Qin Shou jumped into the arms of Chang’e and began munching on the whip with crunching sounds.
Fairy Chang’e then gave a curtsy to Mo Lishou and said, "Heavenly Lord, until we meet again."
After she spoke, Chang’e took Qin Shou and entered the Southern Gate.
Yunkong True Master and others finally came back to their senses, rubbing their eyes. They looked at one another, realizing that the people who had wanted to cozy up to Mo Lishou and make small talk were now silently averting their gaze upon seeing Mo Lishou’s darkened face. They all understood then; that damn rabbit had played the coward as a ruse, digging a hole for Mo Lishou to fall into! And not only had Mo Lishou jumped in, but he had also nailed his own coffin shut...
This time, Mo Lishou had made a colossal fool of himself; anyone who approached him would become a punching bag, so they all hurriedly scattered to chase after the rabbit.
Just after Qin Shou and Chang’e left, a furious roar erupted from the vicinity of the Southern Gate: "Bai, how dare you set me up?"
"Master Si, don’t listen to that rabbit’s nonsense, I’m really not in cahoots with him... ah... don’t hit... ah... damn rabbit, I will never share the sky with you! Ah..."
...
After passing through the Southern Gate, Chang’e spoke in a low voice, "You scared me to death, that’s one of the Four Heavenly Kings’ weapons, and you dared to gnaw on it! If you couldn’t bite through it would have been one thing, but what if there had been an Array or something on it? You could have been in big trouble! Don’t you dare do anything reckless in the future."
Qin Shou, while turning the golden whip into nuggets and handing them to Chang’e to keep as snacks for later, nodded like a pecking chicken. Now that he got the goodies, why argue with his sister... As for whether he would continue such antics in the future, who was he to say – what if he couldn’t resist?
As for Chang’e’s concerns, Qin Shou wasn’t worried at all.
He might not be confident about anything else, but regarding his teeth, he was utterly assured!
From his encounters with the Immortals, Qin Shou had realized that Wu Gang might look like a loser, but he was actually far more badass than Taibai Star Monarch, the Four Heavenly Kings, or any Human Immortal! Not to mention anything else, just his belt was better than any magic treasure Qin Shou had ever seen!
And upon further reflection, could someone who the Three Emperors valued really be on the same level as door guards like the Four Heavenly Kings?
So, would Wu Gang’s weapon, the big axe, be just an ordinary axe?
Qin Shou remembered clearly that when he first used his Treasured Eye to see the axe, it radiated brilliant lights – an absolute treasure far more powerful than the golden whip in front of him!
With that axe, in his previous life, the silly rabbit had bitten off a chunk in one go, let alone a mere golden whip!
