Chapter 427: Chapter 40: How the Old Swindler Was Duped_1
But the Great Path Runes Array is different. To set up such an array, the creator must have a profound understanding of many great paths and, at the very least, be able to outline the great path runes.
Then, through their comprehension of the great paths and understanding of the runes, they recombine and arrange these runes, creating their own chain of order.
With these chains, they are able to turn the sky and shift the earth, redefining the rules of a space. Should anyone violate these rules, they would trigger the punitive force of this realm.
Since the power of this space fundamentally comes from the great path runes, it is recognized by Heaven and Earth. Once the force of punishment is activated, it is equivalent to the punishment of the Heavenly Dao. Going against it would mean opposing the Heavenly Dao itself!
The more runes that are integrated, the more powerful the Heavenly Dao’s rules that can be accessed, and the stronger the force that can be wielded.
Theoretically, if someone could comprehend all the great path runes and replicate them perfectly, they could duplicate this realm and become its supreme overlord.
However, under the vast skies, the only one presumed capable of this feat is probably the Hongjun Patriarch."
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou’s eyes lit up...
Seeing the rabbit’s reaction, the old swindler knew what he was thinking and chuckled, "Don’t even think about it. How hard is it to set up a Great Path Runes Array? The runes of the Heavenly Dao are incredibly complex—one rune alone contains countless information. Without sufficient wisdom, one might need millions or tens of millions of years just to comprehend a single rune.
With countless runes of the Heavenly Dao, when would one ever fully comprehend them?
To my knowledge, even a Great Golden Immortal’s understanding of the Heavenly Dao only allows them to set up minor arrays.
Such a large-scale array is not something Emperor Shun could have set up by himself; it was likely the work of another overlord.
In any case, just walk the straight path. Otherwise, that unfortunate soul just now would be a cautionary tale."
While the old swindler spoke, he had already walked a good distance away. Sun Wukong followed close behind, and Qin Shou looked up at the sky, pondering the issues with the light from before. The light was powerful, but it also indicated that Yuan Qi was abundant...
"Rabbit, hurry up, what are you thinking about?" the old swindler asked.
Qin Shou said, "What do you think that light from before tastes like when you eat it?"
The old swindler: "..."
The old swindler grabbed the rabbit and said, "Let’s get moving, don’t think so much, being safe is better than anything else."
Qin Shou: "..."
Qin Shou glanced at the Golden Cudgel in Sun Wukong’s hand leading the way in front and, with a wave of his hand, threw the Lady Xiang Bamboo over, saying, "Wukong, use this to probe the way; it’s more reliable."
Sun Wukong caught the Lady Xiang Bamboo and stuffed the Golden Cudgel into his ear. As the bamboo touched the ground, everyone gasped in surprise!
"Look quickly!" the rabbit shouted.
All three looked at the ground, only to see
as the Lady Xiang Bamboo touched down, all the surrounding bamboo moved! Leaves all pointed in one direction!
And the tips of all the leaves had taken on a tint of blood-red, as if each were a stealthy arrow.
"So that’s how it is!" the old swindler exclaimed, slapping his forehead in delight.
Qin Shou was also overjoyed, having always thought that the Lady Xiang Bamboo would be key to activating some mechanism. He never expected it would actually point the way!
So Qin Shou unapologetically picked up the piece of Blood Bamboo the old swindler had given him, took a bite, and crunched away, saying, "Taixu, your lousy bamboo is worthless and doesn’t even taste good."
Having the real Blood Bamboo, the old swindler didn’t care about the fake one’s fate. Instead, he bitterly cursed, "How dare it deceive me, when I get back, I’ll make it pay!"
"Who sold it to you?" Qin Shou was also curious, wondering which fellow was so impressive to have even tricked an old scammer.
The old scammer’s face darkened as he said, "A demon with a head of white hair and bald."
Qin Shou was startled, a bald demon?
Qin Shou quickly used the Water Mirror Technique to produce an image of Baldy for the old scammer and asked, "Does it look like this?"
After a glance, the old scammer angrily said, "Yes! It’s this bastard!"
Once Qin Shou heard this, he burst into laughter and asked with a smile, "So how did he sell it to you?"
The old scammer’s face turned red and he coughed to clear his throat, saying, "Of course, it was with his persuasive tongue. I just happened to capsize in the drain and fell for his scheme."
Qin Shou kept smiling at the old scammer, not saying a word, and just looked at him.
An hour later, the old scammer finally couldn’t bear it anymore and angrily said, "Rabbit, what on earth do you want?"
Qin Shou said, "I want to hear the human speech. How exactly did he sell it to you?"
The old scammer huffed and then fell silent again.
The Rabbit kept staring at him.
A few minutes later, the old scammer could no longer stand the Rabbit’s smile that seemed to say he knew everything, and he blurted out angrily, "He beat me up, I had no choice but to buy, okay? Damn it, I’ve never seen anyone conduct business like this! Glance at something and you’re forced to buy, and if you don’t, he beats you up! Shit! How on earth is there such a bastard in the world!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou burst into laughter. He knew it – with Baldy’s foul temper, how could he possibly do any proper business, let alone waste words to trick someone? His big palm was the most effective and most powerful sales tactic.
Qin Shou chuckled and said, "Next time I meet Baldy, I’ll relay to him exactly what you just said."
The old scammer’s legs turned to jelly when he heard this, and he quickly stuffed a peach into the Rabbit’s hands and said, "Just pretend I never said it, okay?"
Qin Shou took it and bit into it – juicy and tender, and importantly, full of Yuan Qi! However, why did it taste so familiar?
At that moment, Sun Wukong, who was leading the way, suddenly turned his head, sniffed the air, and then stared intently at the peach in Qin Shou’s hand, "Rabbit, how come you have the peaches from Huaguo Mountain?"
Qin Shou was taken aback, turned to look at the old scammer, but the scammer had already dashed forward, shouting, "I’ll lead the way, keep up, hahaha... Oh shit, help..."
Qin Shou and Sun Wukong almost saw with their own eyes as a large tree suddenly came to life, grabbed the old scammer with one swoop, and stuffed him straight into the tree hole! By the time they reacted, half of the old scammer had already been pulled in, leaving his lower half and his big behind wiggling outside...
Sun Wukong was shocked and drew out his Golden Cudgel for a strike!
Bang!
A loud noise echoed, yet the tree remained unmoved! Only a few leaves drifted down.
But the entire hill shook a little!
At the same time, some runes flashed on the mountain. The runes, like neon lights charged with electricity, lit up from near to far and then extinguished, all the way towards the entrance.
Sun Wukong frowned and said, "There’s something wrong here. My cudgel strike on the tree had its force absorbed by the runes and transmitted away."
No sooner had he spoken than a booming sound came from afar!
Both looked off into the distance, just in time to see a huge tree lift a branch and smash it down thunderously!
