Chapter 415: Chapter 28: An Old Friend Comes, Take Him Down!_1

"This Monkey is indeed formidable, but by doing this, isn’t he offending everyone present? Who here doesn’t have a master? Once these people go back and call for help, he’s going to suffer."

"Look quickly, Yao Bofu seems to be making a move!" someone exclaimed!

As people turned toward the sound, they saw that majestic figure in the sky slowly turn his head.

Everyone instinctively held their breath.

"A great battle is about to erupt!"

"Not necessarily! The eldest son is invincible at the Earthly Immortal realm. This Monkey probably won’t last beyond three moves!"

"Three moves? I reckon he can’t even withstand one."

No matter what everyone said, how they tried to belittle Sun Wukong, how they acted as if nothing was happening, the tension in their jaws and the fists they clenched betrayed their true panic.

"Monkey, halt!" Right at that moment, a figure suddenly appeared in front of Sun Wukong, his expression dark as he rebuked!

"It’s Yao Hongtao, the Yao Clan’s protector! It’s said that he’s of the eighth level of Earthly Immortals, currently the strongest in the Yao Clan below Yao Bofu!"

"He’s taken action. It looks like the Monkey won’t get to face Yao Bofu. What a pity, I wanted to see Yao Bofu in action."

"Don’t be impatient, Gouyun has arrived; there’s plenty to look forward to."

"I’m just afraid Gouyun won’t even get past Yao Hongtao."

...

Yao Hongtao blocked Sun Wukong’s path, his gaze firm and immovable as a mountain!

However, the Monkey seemed not to have even noticed him. With a sweep of his hand, like swatting a fly, he smacked Yao Hongtao across the face and then gave a strong push!

Yao Hongtao was sent flying, like a meteor, toward the ground, with a boom, creating a huge crater!

He did not get up for a long time...

Seeing this scene, those who had just been bragging about Yao Hongtao fell suddenly silent, not daring to utter another word!

"Heavens, I must be dreaming! That’s Yao Hongtao, of the eighth level of Earthly Immortals! He was actually slapped unconscious by that Monkey! This... this... I better go home and sleep!"

"This Monkey, too terrifying! Even an Immortal of the ninth level of Earthly Immortals shouldn’t be this powerful, right? Could he be a Heavenly Immortal? Are Heavenly Immortals not afraid of being eradicated for making themselves public enemies?"

"It shouldn’t be a Heavenly Immortal, right?"

"Maybe, this Monkey simply doesn’t know about the Heavenly Immortal edict?"

"Possibly, to kill one’s own rank as if slaughtering a dog, only an unparalleled genius could do it. This Monkey has never been seen before, nor has his name been heard, clearly not some demonically talented genius. He must be a demon who secluded himself for arduous cultivation. Too bad, he doesn’t understand the current state of affairs, I fear he will soon fall."

The more they talked, the more they were convinced Sun Wukong was a Heavenly Immortal rather than an Earthly Immortal, and their eyes filled with pity and mockery as they looked at Sun Wukong.

While everyone was discussing, Yao Bofu finally made another move.

All held their breath in rapt attention.

"Yao Bofu is about to take action; this time, this Monkey’s journey has come to an end."

"Yao Bofu has been able to fight across ranks since he was young and slaughters those of the same rank as if they were mere dogs. No matter if the Monkey is a Heavenly Immortal or an Earthly Immortal, he’s going to fall today!"

The elder who had previously said the Monkey’s troubles came from his mouth shook his head, "Yao Bofu is probably measuring the height of the Monkey. If the Monkey is one rank below Yao Bofu, probably he won’t even make a move. But if the Monkey still cannot recognize when to advance or retreat, hmm..."

There was a child following the elder, and with wide eyes, he blinked and asked curiously, "Grandpa, what should the Monkey do if he doesn’t recognize when to advance or retreat?"

The elder declared decisively, "Death and obliteration of the Dao!"

The child, in disbelief, said, "Grandpa, when those cultivators surrounded the Monkey, you said the same thing, and when the Immortals took action, you still said the Monkey was no good, but the Monkey has already proven you wrong twice. Are you sure, this time, the Monkey won’t match up to Yao Bofu?"

The old man raised his hand and delivered a slap, saying, "Do you dare question your grandpa’s judgement?"

The little boy stubbornly retorted, "But you guessed wrong before."

The old man’s face turned red with embarrassment and he insisted, "This time it’s absolutely correct!"

The crowd all nodded in agreement.

However, to everyone’s bewilderment, Yao Bofu did nothing more than nod slightly at the Monkey, cracking a generous smile before turning to continue staring toward the eastern horizon.

The crowd was dumbfounded, completely baffled...

It was only after a while that someone asked, "What’s the situation?"

"It seems... I just saw Yao Bofu nod!"

"Nodding? Does that mean he acknowledges the Monkey’s strength, allowing him to stand on the same level as himself? This Monkey is really an Earthly Immortal? An Earthly Immortal recognized by Yao Bofu?"

"Holy crap... this..."

"Grandpa, where are you going?"

The little boy saw the old man dragging him away.

With a blush still on his face, the old man complained, "There are too many people, it’s too crowded."

The little boy innocently said, "Grandpa, didn’t you say that the more people, the merrier? The tighter the squeeze, the more fun it is?"

The old man slapped the boy’s head and retorted, "It’s hot with so many people."

The little boy said, "Grandpa, you’re wearing so little, how can you be hot? I’m not hot. Oh right, Grandpa, you just seemed to make another mistake."

The old man delivered another slap, saying, "Less talking, let’s go!"

The little boy protested with a wronged tone, "Why do we have to go?"

The old man huffed but did not explain and just dragged the little boy to another place.

After the two left, people chuckled amongst themselves, saying, "After being slapped in the face repeatedly, he’s lost face to stay here."

"He was the one who badmouthed the Monkey the most just now; he’s probably afraid of the Monkey remembering him..."

...

Qin Shou and the Monkey were oblivious to this little interlude in the crowd. Yao Bofu didn’t bother the Monkey, and the Monkey was too lazy to pick a fight.

Qin Shou pulled out two real leather and gold-trimmed large sofas, laid out with a white tiger skin, and each sat on a sofa, like an eagle perched on top.

Sun Wukong remained silent, while that Rabbit was picking at its feet... completely oblivious to how tasteless his grand sofa and unsightly foot-picking were.

Seeing this scene, many people shook their heads and murmured, "A generation of Earthly Immortal demons, and yet he’s mingling with such a tasteless Rabbit, how embarrassing!"

Just as the two were seated, suddenly someone burst into laughter, saying, "Ha ha... Brother Yao, it’s been years, have you missed me?"

Then the sound of drums and music echoed, followed by a procession of a thousand people flying in from afar, luxury chariots and horses, maids accompanying, and golden-armored guards on either side! There were even several fairies scattering petals as they walked, a sight so ostentatiously flashy!

At the front of the procession, a large banner was erected with a single bold character on it — Ao!

Qin Shou looked up to see a person pulling aside the curtain, with one hand behind his back, and walked out with his chest puffed out and head high, his demeanor expressing pride as he looked at Yao Bofu! The arrogance he carried was as if in the heavens and on earth, there were only he and Yao Bofu of importance, and everybody else was but mere ants!

Upon seeing this person, Qin Shou and Sun Wukong instinctively glanced at each other and then both broke into laughter.

Wukong asked, "What should we do?"

Qin Shou chuckled slyly, "Take him down!"
