Rabbit Must Die
Chapter 39 Who Eats Whom [Part 1]

Chapter 39: Chapter 39 Who Eats Whom [Part 1]

Mo Lishou saw this and laughed happily, "Fairy, please go in quickly."

Chang’e glanced at the Purple Gold Flower Mink and then at Mo Lishou, feeling there was something fishy about the situation, she refused to go.

Mo Lishou’s eyebrows creased slightly, he signaled the Purple Gold Flower Mink with a look, and the mink got the message instantly. Suddenly bending over, it grabbed Qin Shou’s rabbit ears and whooshed into the air!

"Hey, hey, hey..." Qin Shou hadn’t even called out twice when the Purple Gold Flower Mink pulled him by the big ears into Mo Lishou’s bag!

The Purple Gold Flower Mink moved so quickly that Chang’e couldn’t even react. By the time Qin Shou was dragged into the mink, Chang’e finally realized what was happening and yelled, "Heavenly Lord, what are you doing?!"

At that moment, Chang’e was no longer the timid figure from before but stood with eyebrows fiercely knitted and a face as cold as frost. She stepped forward, directly facing Mo Lishou, her bright eyes fearlessly meeting his gaze. It was as if the person before her was not the one who commanded the Southern Gate among the four great Heavenly Lords, but an enemy!

Mo Lishou had not expected that this seemingly delicate fairy would be so spirited, daring to meet his gaze without fear!

Mo Lishou studied the fairy before him carefully and couldn’t help but admire in his heart: what a beautiful fairy she was, with both looks and temperament that seemed to embody the perfect work of nature’s own crafting. Such a fairy was indeed rare.

However, Mo Lishou was clearer on what he was after. The Purple Gold Flower Mink had assisted him in the Divine Enthronement, but now it had reached the peak of its power and couldn’t break through. It needed to absorb special bloodlines to break the impasse. Over the years, through many means, he had sought out numerous exotic beasts, but not one could help the Purple Gold Flower Mink break through.

But this time, from a great distance, the Purple Gold Flower Mink had sensed the aura of this rabbit, exclaiming that the rabbit’s blood could help it break through the bottleneck!

When Mo Lishou saw Chang’e and Qin Shou, he deemed Chang’e an insignificant and unfamiliar little fairy with almost negligible strength, thus he didn’t take her seriously. Consequently, he set his sights on Qin Shou. In his view, a pet was just a pet; even if he took it, a minor female fairy wouldn’t dare say anything. And even if she complained, how significant could the abduction of a pet be considered? By the time any action could be taken, the rabbit would have been consumed, and all the blame could be shifted to the animalistic nature of the Purple Gold Flower Mink. The Heavenly Court wouldn’t hold it too accountable. Even if there were any penalties, they wouldn’t outweigh the benefits of the Purple Gold Flower Mink’s advancement!

Therefore, upon seeing Chang’e and Qin Shou, Mo Lishou had already made up his mind to act.

However, he hadn’t expected the fairy to be so tough and spirited.

But what of it, even if she was tough? Here, he was Guangmu Heavenly King of the west, and whether by magic or status, he crushed his opponent. What was there to fear?

Thus, Mo Lishou intended to be harsh, to scare her off, yet when it came to saying it, he couldn’t.

Because Mo Lishou saw the piercing cold light in Chang’e’s eyes, a fury as if she had already cast aside life and death. It was a silent language that seemed to tell him, if the rabbit died, she would fight him to the death!

Mo Lishou also grew angry inside. He, the lofty Guangmu Heavenly King, a righteous god of the Heavenly Court, had been intimidated by a young woman’s stare—what a loss of face it would be to spread such a story!

So Mo Lishou snorted coldly and said, "Fairy, my pet Purple Gold Flower Mink finds your rabbit to be a suitable companion and has taken it for some fun. What’s wrong with that? These are matters between pets; as their masters, it’s best to interfere less."

Just then, Mo Lishou’s bag trembled violently, followed by a pitiful scream—it was Qin Shou’s cry!

"Oh! ...Help! Murder! They’re killing a rabbit! Ow! Oh ... wow wow wow... heh heh ... cough cough ... ow ..."

Hearing Qin Shou’s cries, Chang’e immediately panicked and rushed to snatch Mo Lishou’s bag, but Mo Lishou snorted coldly, "How dare you, little fairy, attack me, are you rebelling?"

During their exchange, the surrounding heavenly soldiers stepped forward, extending their long spears to block Chang’e’s path.

Chang’e angrily said, "Move aside! Mo Lishou, if anything happens to Yu’er, I’ll smash myself to death right here at the Southern Gate, and with my blood, I’ll accuse you of brutality before the Heavenly Court! Although I am but an ordinary fairy, I am also a dancer at the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations. If I don’t go, someone is bound to ask questions!"

To Mo Lishou’s surprise, this minor female fairy turned out to be so staunch, even daring to defy him at this moment.

At the same time, other immortals were approaching from a distance. He knew he had to resolve this matter quickly, or else, if the news spread that he bullied the weak, his reputation for unjust aggression would be tarnished. And if some meddlesome immortal were to report it to the Jade Emperor... then it wouldn’t just be about killing a pet anymore. He would be the one losing face!

Hence, Mo Lishou forced a smile for the first time, trying to ease the situation, "Fairy, don’t be angry, look, isn’t your rabbit still shouting vigorously? This shows that he is not in mortal danger."

Chang’e coldly replied, "Mo Lishou, if I could no longer hear Yu’er’s cries, I would already be dead at the Southern Gate! With many immortals watching, I don’t believe the Heavenly Court would condone your actions!"

Mo Lishou’s face took on an unpleasant expression, but having already committed the act, he was not willing to give up halfway. However, he couldn’t quite comprehend why his Purple Gold Flower Mink, which normally crunched bones of men and gods alike, was hesitating today. The rabbit had been caught for so long, yet it wasn’t eaten? What was it playing at?!

Let’s rewind to the moment Qin Shou was captured by the Purple Gold Flower Mink.

The bag didn’t look big, but its interior held a universe of its own, an adequate lair for the Purple Gold Flower Mink! Inside, there was a bed, tables, chairs, and plenty of food, indicating that the Flower Mink’s life inside was quite comfortable.

Now, the Flower Mink charged in with Qin Shou in tow, pinning him to the ground and stepping on him, letting out a strange chuckle...

As Qin Shou lay on the ground, he felt a chill on his back and cried out, "Don’t mess around, listen, you’re a mink, and I’m a rabbit. Although if we look way back, we might both be related to mice, but there’s no future for us!"

The Purple Gold Flower Mink, initially ready to feast, upon hearing these words, was completely stunned, and catching a glimpse of Qin Shou’s plump behind, he suddenly felt nauseated and couldn’t bring himself to take a bite. Annoyed, he barked, "Shut up! I don’t like rabbits!"

"If you don’t like rabbits, why did you catch me?" Qin Shou yelled.

"To eat!" replied the Flower Mink as it bit down sharply.

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou realized that the creature intended to kill him! How could this be allowed to happen?

Qin Shou hadn’t resisted at first, hoping that Mo Lishou would consider the honor of the gods of the Heavenly Court and his promise not to harm him, but now, he understood that these two bastards didn’t possess any integrity! They had captured him for his meat! This was a matter of life and death!
