Chapter 262: Chapter 259: Capturing the Demon [Subscribe Requested]_1

"Can’t fly, huh? Fine..." Qin Shou nodded and with a wave of his hand produced a bunch of large drums and brass gongs.

Originally, Qin Shou wanted to add some suona as well, but then he thought better of it, considering the intelligence of these fellows, so he simply gave up the idea.

Qin Shou tossed the equipment to everyone and said, "Take these and start drumming, we’re going on a mountain patrol with me now!"

"My Lord, should I make a treasure seat for you?" the Leopard-headed Monster King asked eagerly.

Qin Shou stroked his chin and said with a smile, "Sure, make a big one for me! A tall one! And I want a grand treasure seat covered with tiger skin!"

Upon hearing this, the Leopard-headed Monster King immediately responded, pulling out a stack of tiger skins from his pocket and asking, "My Lord, which color would you like?"

Looking at them, Qin Shou remembered this was the Earthly Immortal Realm where materials were as common as hair on oxen. Tigers were considered rare and impressive on Earth, but here, they were no different from chicks... nowhere near as impressive as casually stepping on a demon underfoot.

Nonetheless, Qin Shou had a taste for it and promptly picked out a white tiger skin.

Then, with a wave of his hand, he turned the recently smashed treasure throne into the shell of a tank!

There was no helping it; the internal technology was too advanced for Qin Shou to understand, impossible for him to recreate. Besides, even if he could, a tank wouldn’t be of much use in this world, so the shell was enough. But just having the shell made Qin Shou feel it was somewhat empty and unreliable.

Thus, that scoundrel made the tank entirely solid...

"Haha, you’re going to sit on this, my Lord? I can handle this myself! No need for others to help!" The Boar Spirit, previously unsettled by running away, was figuring out how to demonstrate his loyalty.

Seeing the strange object Qin Shou had created, the first thought that came to his mind was, is this also a treasure seat? It shouldn’t be too heavy. He had sneakily jumped up to take a look and found it was hollow inside! An empty shell that he should be able to lift with his strength, so he volunteered enthusiastically.

Upon hearing that, Qin Shou immediately laughed and asked, "By yourself?"

The Boar Spirit puffed up his chest and said, "Of course! My Lord, don’t let my appearance fool you. I may look fat and only recently transformed, but I have natural strength! A treasure seat like this, I alone am more than sufficient!"

Qin Shou nodded and said, "All right, then you shall carry it!"

The Boar Spirit huffed and puffed twice, struck a pose, and then charged at it, shouting, "Lift!"

The other little monsters stretched their necks to watch, cursing in their minds: "He’s obviously a pig, but why so clever? Could his dad not be a pig?"

The Leopard-headed Monster King was even more dissatisfied. On the road to showing eagerness, he actually lost to a pig! Not happy! Very unhappy!

If it weren’t for Qin Shou’s presence, he would have slapped this little pig demon to death.

Just as they were regretting not seizing the opportunity to show eagerness, the little pig demon howled a couple of times, but the tank didn’t budge...

Everyone was stunned. What was going on?

The Boar Spirit was also bewildered. How could this thing be so heavy? He couldn’t lift it?

Qin Shou said with a grin, "Little piggy, go on and lift."

The Boar Spirit swallowed his saliva and howled again as he exerted himself, but still, the tank did not move.

With a smile, Qin Shou said, "Go on, lift."

The Boar Spirit looked at Qin Shou miserably. He really wanted to say he couldn’t lift it, but he didn’t dare... Other demons might not have seen how fierce this rabbit was, but he had seen it. The furnace running all over the place was too scary for a pig.

Qin Shou watched the Boar Spirit with a smile, then took out a small stool, placed it on top of the tank, sat down, waved his hand, and two iron chains landed in front of the Boar Spirit. Qin Shou said, "If you can’t lift it, then pull! Weren’t you running quite fast just now? I want you to replicate that performance without any bumps! If it bumps even once, I’ll stew you!"

When the Boar Spirit heard this, he realized that the rabbit was settling accounts after autumn!

He couldn’t even lift it, let alone pull it while running at the speed of escaping. There was no way he could do it!

The Boar Spirit suddenly knelt to the ground, sobbing loudly, "My Lord, I was wrong... I promise, I’ll never run again and will be absolutely loyal to you!"

After saying this, the Boar Spirit began knocking his head on the ground like pounding garlic...

The other demons finally understood. Thinking about the rabbit’s request, they all put themselves in the pig demon’s place and sadly realized... they probably couldn’t do it either! Instantly, they all broke out in cold sweat... They suddenly found that this rabbit’s methods of punishment were more torturous than the Leopard-headed Monster King’s arbitrary beatings...

Qin Shou said with a smile, "Okay, I’ll give you another chance. If you dare to run again... hmph... you’ll be the vanguard leading the way."

The Boar Spirit nodded repeatedly, hurriedly got up, and ran to the front carrying the big flag. Previously, he’d been unsure of Qin Shou’s strength and thought Qin Shou, who hadn’t transformed, was just a bit stronger than him. Now that he knew this rabbit was truly fierce, he naturally wouldn’t think of running away again.

This is how demons are: as long as they have a strong enough backer, they’ll be thoroughly loyal because... they always put survival first.

The Earthly Immortal Realm is perilous, with survival depending firstly on ability and secondly on who you back.

But these mountain spirits and wild monsters lack heritage and backers, so they often don’t live long relying solely on their innate little abilities. Therefore, whether out of instinct or reason, they either choose to band together or search for a backer everywhere, aligning themselves with any demon stronger than them, seeking protection or apprenticeship.

In their eyes, the ideal situation is to become an apprentice with a legacy, followed by taking refuge under a powerful Demon Lord to have a patron for the days ahead, next is forming groups for warmth, and the last is living a fearful, solitary struggle...

Of course, there are exceptions, and that’s when truly powerful and terrifying demons, who have absolute confidence in their own abilities, choose to go it alone.

So, there is a saying that circulates in the Earthly Immortal Realm: Better to provoke a band of creatures than to mess with a lone demon.

Having subdued the Boar Spirit, Qin Shou pulled out a pair of large sunglasses, put them on, and sat on his stool with his legs crossed, smirking and saying, "Little monsters, carry your king and let’s set off!"

"Yes!"

Eight burly Ox Spirits and Rhino Spirits ran over, and with a loud shout of "Lift!"

The tank was hoisted up, and then the little monsters, banging drums and gongs, boisterously clattered away into the distance.

Yet these little monsters actually had some talent; as they played on, they somehow got into sync, and even started to sound melodious. Qin Shou was very satisfied with this... However, the momentum was still lacking something, so Qin Shou personally wrote a piece of text and sent it down, instructing them to chant it.

Then, a troop of over a hundred creatures appeared in the forest, carrying a tank in the middle, on top of which sat a stool and a sun umbrella, underneath which a rabbit was enjoying a little drink...

The little monsters around were beating drums and gongs and chanting: "The Immortal Rabbit, with boundless mana, for eternity will his divine chariot traverse the heavens!"

This chant rang out, and with the banners leading the way, countless demons turned their heads to look as they passed!

At first, everyone held back...

Finally, someone could no longer stand it.

"Minions, grab your weapons and take them down!" An Owl Spirit, leading a flock of Bird Spirits, wielding weapons, charged out and surrounded the Boar Spirit who was at the front carrying the flag!

However, before they could say anything, the Boar Spirit shouted, "My king! Quick, come here! I’ve caught them, over a thousand Bird Spirits! All caught!"

The Bird Spirits were dumbfounded. What the heck? He’s caught us?

Damn it, what is this stupid pig thinking?

"Attack, my minions! Today your king wants to eat pork!" The Owl Spirit flapped its wings, and countless Bird Spirits crowed as they swooped down to attack.

The Boar Spirit turned pale with fear, but he stood his ground and didn’t run, staying put!

As the Bird Spirits were about to strike, a series of shouts came from behind: "Minions, forward, flip them over!"

Then a horde of demons rushed out, spears flying everywhere, spearing birds!

The Bird Spirits cried out in alarm and scattered.

The Owl Spirit sneered, "A bunch of flightless idiots dare to fight with me? They don’t know when they’re dead... Why is it getting dark?"

The Owl Spirit looked up instinctively, only to hear someone shout from below, "Little bird, look at my magic treasure!"

The Owl Spirit, momentarily distracted, glanced down without looking up, and then heard whooshing sounds above him, thinking to himself, not good!

By the time the Owl Spirit looked up again, it was too late. A large furnace descended from the sky, and as it saw him looking, the furnace cried out, "Little bird, don’t run! Hurry into the pot!"

"Damn, what the hell is this!" Before the Owl Spirit could curse aloud, with a clang, it had already been trapped inside the Eight Trigrams Furnace, and then with a clang, the lid shut on its own, capturing the Owl Spirit!

With their own leader caught and a ferocious Bun Spirit outside, the Bird Spirits panicked... and turned to flee.

"Don’t you run! Otherwise, I’ll stew your king!"

Turning around, the Bird Spirits saw a rabbit patting the side of a furnace, which had opened a slit to reveal the shadow of their king.

"Rabbit, you ambushed me! What kind of skill is that? If you’re capable, release me, and let’s fight for three hundred rounds!" the Owl Spirit shouted.

Qin Shou chuckled and said, "Still not convinced, little bird?"

Upon hearing this, the Owl Spirit was overjoyed, "You’re letting me go?"

Qin Shou laughed and said, "Don’t get too happy just yet. I’m asking you, if you’re not convinced, does it affect the quality of your meat?"

"What do you mean?" The Owl Spirit was confused; it couldn’t keep up with the Rabbit’s rapid-fire talk.

Hearing this, the Leopard Demon King laughed and said, "It doesn’t affect it, my king!"

Qin Shou slapped the furnace and said, "Then I’m relieved, whether you’re convinced or not. You’re just a minor character trying to be tough with me? Start cooking!"

Immediately a small flame shot out from the Eight Trigrams Furnace, simply sweeping over the top of the Owl Spirit’s head, burning off all the feathers in an instant, even scalding off a patch of its scalp!

Frightened, the Owl Spirit let out a shriek, knowing that this furnace was no ordinary item, not to be trifled with, and hurriedly cried out, "My king, I submit! I submit! Please don’t burn me!"
