Chapter 261: Chapter 258: A Treacherous Demon Emerges from the Barren Mountains【Subscribe Request】_1

"I’ve got it!" the Rabbit suddenly exclaimed.

Both the Boar Spirit and the Eight Trigrams Furnace stopped at once and turned to ask, "Whose voice was that?"

Qin Shou squinted his eyes and said, "What are you talking about?"

The Eight Trigrams Furnace immediately replied, "I didn’t say anything just now... It was this pig who spoke!"

With a face full of grievance, the Boar Spirit was about to say something when he heard the Eight Trigrams Furnace whisper threateningly, "If you dare blabber, I’ll stew you!"

The Boar Spirit, with a sob in his voice, looked at Qin Shou. Now he understood—this rabbit was even fiercer than the furnace!

"Alright, I’m in a good mood today, so I won’t lower myself to your level," said Qin Shou. After speaking, with a wave of his hand, a big tree burst open with a pop, and in the next moment, a large banner appeared in Qin Shou’s hand. The tall flagpole flew a flag with several large characters on it: "Heavenly God Descends, Grandsons, Come Worship!"

The Boar Spirit took one look and jumped in fright, exclaiming, "Rabbit Lord, that flag is too ostentatious! If you carry that flag out, you won’t survive past two mountains!"

Qin Shou burst into laughter and said, "Who said I’m going to carry it?"

The Boar Spirit immediately had a bad feeling, and sure enough, the Rabbit soon said, "You’re the lackey, you carry the flag!"

Upon hearing this, the Boar Spirit instantly became anxious: "Rabbit Lord, please spare me! I bet the moment I go out, I’ll be stewed!"

"What are you afraid of? I’ve got your back!" Qin Shou bellowed confidently.

"Really?" the Boar Spirit asked.

"My word is my bond—when I say something, I mean it. Of course, it’s true!" Qin Shou declared.

"Then alright, I’ll give it a try..." said the Boar Spirit. He picked up the large banner and began to walk away, looking back three times with each step, shaking with terror.

The Eight Trigrams Furnace clicked its tongue in amazement and said, "True to form for a Boar Spirit, such intellect... He doesn’t consider what will he do if the back you can’t support collapses? By the way, Rabbit, what will you do if we run into something fierce?"

Qin Shou looked at the Eight Trigrams Furnace with disdain and said, "Look at the spirit you’ve got, and your character. What if we run into something fierce? Can’t we just run away? Do I know that pig?"

The Eight Trigrams Furnace: "..."

However, Qin Shou immediately followed up, "But really, I don’t believe anyone would dare to oppose me head-on. I’m the Daynight Wandering God, representing the face of the Heavenly Court."

The Eight Trigrams Furnace chuckled and said, "Didn’t the Sun Wandering God get attacked? Nothing in the world is absolutely safe."

"I have someone backing me!" Qin Shou stated.

Thinking of the woman on the mountain, the Eight Trigrams Furnace immediately fell silent.

Qin Shou continued triumphantly, "Let’s go... There seems to be some commotion up ahead."

However, the Boar Spirit, despite the Rabbit’s assurance, still felt uneasy. He shivered while carrying the flag, cleverly choosing to zigzag through dense forests, high mountains, or areas with fewer creatures, all to avoid being seen.

Yet, he had forgotten one thing—just as poverty-stricken mountains and wicked waters produce troublesome folk, in the Earthly Immortal Realm, the same rule applies, and in such places, troublesome demons abound!

It wasn’t long before the Boar Spirit heard a thundering roar: "Halt! Quite a brazen little wild boar you are! Let’s see what skills you have that warrant our worship! Minions, capture this pig and stew it!"

"Go, catch the pig!"

The Boar Spirit looked up to see a gang of little monsters running towards him from a distance, howling eagerly, as if they were afraid of being last and missing out on pig meat.

Petrified, the Boar Spirit turned tail and ran, crying out as he went, "Rabbit Lord, save me!"

Qin Shou was on his way when he heard the Boar Spirit’s cry for help. Before he could react, he saw the Boar Spirit dash past him! The Boar Spirit saw the Rabbit but didn’t bother stopping, continuing to run and cry out, "Rabbit Lord, save me!"

Seeing this, Qin Shou’s face darkened with annoyance. He knew the damn pig hadn’t missed him, but was pretending not to see, to avoid being drafted as a henchman or, worse, taking the chance to bolt.

But Qin Shou didn’t have the time to deal with the pig right then; a troop of little monsters brandishing scruffy swords was howling as they charged at him. Behind the little monsters, three burly demons carried a bizarre chair, on which sat a Demon Lord with a leopard head, watching the scene with smug satisfaction. He gestured and ordered, "That rabbit looks plump, capture it along with the pig, and stew them!"

"Little rabbit, don’t run!"

At this, Qin Shou couldn’t help but laugh inwardly, thinking, "A bunch of monsters without a Demonic Immortal among them dare to stew me? I’ve seen the fearless, but never any quite so unafraid of death!"

Qin Shou didn’t run, but stood his ground, hands akimbo!

The little monsters were taken aback at seeing the Rabbit not fleeing and paused for a moment...

Then, the little monsters swarmed around Qin Shou, encircling him. One of them reported to the Demon Lord, "Your Majesty, we’ve captured the Rabbit!"

The leopard-headed Monster King nodded in satisfaction and laughed, "Rabbit, you’re surrounded by us. Will you hop into the pot yourself, or must I lay hands on you?"

But then they saw the Rabbit, far from frightened, stand with arms akimbo and seriously scan the demons before, finally fixing his gaze on the leopard-headed Monster King and shouting earnestly, "Halt! Demons, you are surrounded by me, Rabbit Lord! Throw down your weapons and I won’t kill you!"

The demons were immediately dumbfounded—what was happening?

The leopard-headed Monster King was bewildered, scratching his head as he said, "Rabbit, have you gone mad? Look around you, it’s all us! We’re the ones who have you surrounded!"

Qin Shou shook his head seriously and said, "No, no, no, it’s I, Rabbit Lord, who has you surrounded. Just surrender already, you can’t escape, I don’t want to fight."

"Haha... This rabbit... Attack!" the leopard-headed Monster King laughed heartily three times before his face suddenly turned stern, and with a loud command, all the little monsters roared and lunged forward to attack.

Seeing this, Qin Shou’s eyebrows twitched as he said, "Bring it on, take a whack from me—uh, I seemed to have lent out my stick... Take a carrot from me then!"

It took Qin Shou quite a while to remember that he had lent out his stick earlier, so he reached into his pocket at random and pulled out a carrot.

Chang’e had brought back the carrot for him to gnaw on, but he had ended up biting it in half, and since then, it had been lying at the bottom of his Black Demon Box. Now that he had taken it out, he found that, despite being a bit short, it still felt quite handy...

Especially when Qin Shou activated it with his Yuan Qi, the carrot actually grew larger!

Qin Shou burst into laughter and swung the two-meter-long enormous carrot in a wide sweep!

How terrifying was Qin Shou’s physical body? Paired with the Eight-Nine Empyrean Art, it was matchlessly strong!

And his opponents were just some little monsters that had either just shapeshifted or hadn’t even properly mastered their transformations, so who could stand in his way?

There were thuds after thuds...

The dull sounds were endless, followed by screams as one little monster after another was sent flying!

Seeing how weak these creatures were, a valorous spirit to bully the weak surged in Qin Shou’s heart, and he bellowed, "No one’s getting away today; you all belong to me!"

In the midst of his words, Qin Shou was already swinging the giant carrot in all directions, and wherever he went, hordes of little monsters were sent flying into the sky.

The Leopard-headed Monster King’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets as he exclaimed, "Since when did an untransformed rabbit become so powerful?"

Before the Leopard-headed Monster King could finish, he suddenly heard the little monsters crying out in alarm, "Your Majesty, watch out, above you, a rabbit!"

The Leopard-headed Monster King hurriedly looked up, only to see a rabbit descending from the sky, a huge carrot bringing a gust of wind as it crashed down!

The Leopard-headed Monster King roared and drew his spear, trying to block the carrot!

However, there was only a crisp snap!

It felt to the Leopard-headed Monster King as if his weapon was a real carrot, easily snapped in two by the opponent’s carrot!

Then, a force as heavy as a mountain pressed down, and the throne under the Leopard-headed Monster King’s bottom shattered on the spot!

The Leopard-headed Monster King himself was smashed deep into the mud...

That was after Qin Shou had mercifully held back at the crucial moment; otherwise, the Leopard-headed Monster King would have turned into a puddle of mush right then and there under that blow!

"Have another carrot!" Qin Shou shouted.

The Leopard-headed Monster King quickly pleaded, "Mercy, Your Majesty!"

"Do you yield?" asked Qin Shou.

"I yield, I yield! I completely yield!" the Leopard-headed Monster King hastily cried out, showcasing the profound difference between demons and immortals.

In the Immortal Realm, immortals were relatively peaceful towards each other, with conflicts being rare, hence they valued their reputations more.

But the demons in the Earthly Immortal Realm had survived through countless survival-of-the-fittest battles—when it came to their faces or lives, they were more practical, valuing their lives above all else.

As long as they could live, what did face matter?

"Since you’ve yielded, then tell me, who’s surrounding who here?" Qin Shou asked with a grin.

The Leopard-headed Monster King looked miserable as he said, "You’re surrounding us. We surrender and are willing to follow you."

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou couldn’t help but laugh, not expecting demons to be so easy to subdue. Clapping his hands, he said, "Then follow me! Where’s the Boar Spirit?"

"Here!" The Boar Spirit came running from somewhere, looking up at Qin Shou with an ingratiating smile, bowing and scraping.

Qin Shou’s eyebrows raised as he chuckled, "You sure ran fast just now, eh?"

Cold sweat immediately beaded on the Boar Spirit’s forehead...

Qin Shou patted the Boar Spirit’s thigh and said, "If I weren’t short-staffed, with all this good meat on your legs, I’d have stewed you by now!"

The Boar Spirit didn’t dare retort... He had indeed run fast, but as he fled, a rain of demons began pouring from the sky, with each demon screaming as it plummeted and landed in utter agony. He instantly recognized these demons as the ones chasing him...

...and could guess that the rabbit was wreaking havoc everywhere...

Seeing how formidable the rabbit was, he didn’t dare to keep running for fear that the rabbit would settle the score with him afterward and cook him up.

So the Boar Spirit returned, and sure enough, he saw the rabbit sweeping through the opposition.

Now, hearing the rabbit calling him, he immediately ran out to offer his eager services and to show his loyalty, lest the rabbit deal with him instead.

"Alright, line up in formation, little monsters. Start chanting slogans and beat the drums and gongs; let’s get moving!" Qin Shou ordered.

"Your Majesty... We are just a bunch of little monsters, the very small kind. Many of us can’t even transform properly, and I’m the only one who can fly..." Upon hearing this, the Leopard-headed Monster King hustled over, speaking in a pitiful tone.

Qin Shou was speechless. He knew these monsters were weak, but never would he have imagined that he had overestimated them...
