Rabbit Must Die -
Chapter 213 - 211: Divide Spirit Method_1
Chapter 213: Chapter 211: Divide Spirit Method_1
Dog Xiaotian took one look and ran away, only to realize after a few hundred meters that no one was chasing him!
Turning back, he just caught sight of the Kitchen God pulling out two gleaming kitchen knives!
One blade was bristling with a cold light, dangerously sharp, while the other was very broad, but blunt.
"Are you pulling out the tools this time? Is someone going to get killed?" Dog Xiaotian exclaimed.
Meanwhile, Dog Xiaotian had already run out of the kitchen...
Zhou Buhuo explained, "These are my master’s two knives—the sharp one on the right is called Paoding, and the blunt one on the left is called Shanhe.
Paoding is for slicing delicate meat, Shanhe for cleaving heavy bones, each with its wonderful purpose."
Qin Shou nodded slightly, and at the same time, he noticed that the cooks who were originally busy cooking had all stopped their work, turned around, and pulled out notebooks and Shadow Printing Stones. They were recording the entire process of the Kitchen God cooking, while earnestly jotting down their experiences and realizations at the moment.
Just then, the Kitchen God spoke, "Triangular Boidae, non-poisonous, with rough skin, thick flesh, and heavy bones. People only know to eat its meat, but they do not realize the true value of the Triangular Boidae lies entirely in these bones! If I were cooking, I’d throw away the meat—the bones are the key!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou immediately understood why the Kitchen God wasn’t angry about him eating the meat—it turns out he was doing the job of a garbage bin!
If someone came to your house and dealt with the trash in your garbage bin, you wouldn’t get angry, right?
Qin Shou suddenly felt a sense of blockage in his heart.
"Damn it, I’ve suffered from a lack of knowledge!" Qin Shou lamented inwardly. He also realized that the "Overview of Artifact Refinement" was ultimately about artifact refining and had only guided him on what was edible and what could cure which diseases when it came to food... To really study which creatures to eat and how to make them delicious, he still needed to look to the Kitchen God.
However, Qin Shou wasn’t angry. No matter what, he enjoyed the meal of Triangular Boidae meat. The taste was fantastic, and the Yuan Qi inside it was indeed very nourishing. What a pity there was no inner core or anything; otherwise, he could’ve had even more benefits.
The Kitchen God continued to speak, only much more detailed this time. He explained the hardness levels of every single bone in the Triangular Boidae, the nutritional value, even the elemental composition, and what seasonings to use and how much, when to add them, when to take them out—making it all very clear how eating something improves specific aspects...
As he listened, Qin Shou became a little entranced...
At this moment, he finally understood why those people were willing to work for free—coming here, they really could learn things they wouldn’t in a lifetime!
Moreover, Qin Shou could tell that although the Kitchen God’s character was pretty scummy when it came to beating dogs, he was truly generous when teaching, explaining things in a way that was simple yet profound. With this hands-on method, anyone who came would benefit greatly!
At the very least, Qin Shou had already subconsciously started taking notes... For the first time, he thought about staying and learning.
Then cook well and make it for Chang’e to eat in the future.
"Conquer the heart through the stomach, that’s the plan!" Qin Shou muttered to himself.
Meanwhile, having finished his lecture, the Kitchen God waved his hand, and the huge bone of the Triangular Boidae fell. With a stomp of his foot, the whole cloud ignited, turning into a super bonfire!
Standing amidst the flames, the Kitchen God started explaining how to cut, where the weak joints in the bones were, and how to easily separate the bones with the knife...
As the knife went down, Paoding moved through the Triangular Boidae’s head and body connection like lightning, thrusting and twisting gently, and the large head fell off in an instant.
Then, with his left hand, he raised Shanhe and rhythmically thunked it onto the Triangular Boidae’s bones, the sound deep and resonant like war drums.
But Qin Shou noticed that the bones of the Triangular Boidae had expanded slightly under the high temperature. As Shanhe struck down, cracks immediately appeared in the bones. However, these cracks merely formed but did not shatter!
As the Kitchen God’s knife moved, more and more cracks appeared on the Triangular Boidae, looking as though they might break apart at any moment yet stayed connected without falling apart. Most importantly, these cracks formed mysterious patterns. From a distance, these looked not like fractures but rather natural patterns on the bones—mysterious, beautiful, and delicate!
Next, the Kitchen God took out a seasoning from his pocket and said, "Fat Yi Oil, refined from the fatty belly flesh of the Fat Yi."
As he spoke, he swept the oil through the flames, causing it to boil and burn instantly!
The Kitchen God then meticulously smeared the oil over the Triangular Boidae’s bones...
He bellowed simultaneously, "High-temperature bone refining!"
The flames roared as the giant bones of the Triangular Boidae visibly shrank before their eyes!
At the same time, the Kitchen God said, "The beasts in the world, especially those that have not gained spiritual intelligence, basically cultivate by luck—they consume spiritual medicines, pills, inhale clouds and exhale fog, eat sand, soil, and mud, swallowing everything alive. Therefore, their flesh and blood are mixed and impure, far from being top-grade ingredients.
Wanting to cook top-grade dishes, you need top-grade ingredients! Thus, refining is essential!
Ninety-nine percent of a demon beast’s body is waste, with only one percent being the essence. Taking that one percent to make a dish creates a truly delicious meal.
The essence of this Triangular Boidae is not in its flesh or marrow, but within this dragon bone! As its goal is to transform into a dragon, it starts with the bones; hence, the essence of the bone is the ultimate. Refining from the outside in, using force to break the bones, shatter the insides, assisted by high temperatures, the essence is refined and merged into the marrow, creating an incomparable delicacy—the Triangle Dragon Marrow!"
As he spoke, the Kitchen God took out various seasonings one by one, introducing them and applying them to the shrinking dragon bone!
When the dragon bone had been refined to the length of a human forearm, Zhou Buhuo immediately took out a white jade plate and flew up, holding it above his head with both hands as if he were holding an imperial edict, and cried out loudly, "Rise!"
With a wave of his hand, the Kitchen God made the dragon bone soar into the air, swirling in the sky like a flying dragon before landing neatly on the plate!
At that moment, the flames went out, and the Kitchen God took out another plate, at which point Qin Shou realized that the meat from the bones had already been neatly sliced off and set aside by the Kitchen God.
Right then, the Kitchen God took out that meat and tossed it into the air, and with a flash from Paoding, the chunks of meat turned into a shower of crystal-clear slices that fell down and landed on the scorching hot Triangular Boidae bones. The sizzling sound was incessant, and within moments the meat was cooked, with the seasoning slathered on the bones having infused into the meat as well...
The Kitchen God waved his hand and said, "Serve the dish!"
"Yes, Master!" Zhou Buhuo took the command and carried a plate of the dish away.
As he passed by Qin Shou, Qin Shou could only feel an indescribable aroma assaulting his nostrils, causing him to drool uncontrollably...
If it weren’t for the concern of being seen by so many people around, and the likelihood of being intercepted if he made a move, he would have already attempted to snatch it.
Reluctantly watching Zhou Buhuo walk away with the plate of Triangle Dragon marrow, he finally wiped away his saliva and declared, "Damn it, I want to learn cooking!"
"Oh? You want to learn cooking?" At that moment, the voice of the Kitchen God sounded from behind Qin Shou.
Qin Shou turned his head to look and found that the Kitchen God had reverted to a more delicate appearance, wearing a white robe once again, smiling at him.
Qin Shou nodded and said, "Ah, will you teach me?"
The Kitchen God didn’t answer, but the other cooks began to laugh...
"Rabbit, it’s not so easy to become a disciple of the Kitchen God. So many of us want to become his disciples, but sadly, we don’t have the opportunity."
"To be a disciple of the Kitchen God, you should at least be one of the top chefs in the world, right?"
"Any one of us here, taken out into the world, is a top culinary expert amongst chefs. Yet, we haven’t even crossed the threshold. What qualifications do you, a rabbit, have to enter the Kitchen God’s domain?"
"Exactly, exactly... Rabbit, don’t think too much. If you really want to learn, shall I teach you?"
...
While everyone was eagerly discussing, the Kitchen God asked, "Do you really want to learn?"
Qin Shou exclaimed, "Of course!"
The Kitchen God smiled and said, "Then fine, I’ll teach you!"
"What?!" The cooks who were just muttering a moment ago suddenly widened their eyes, looking at the Kitchen God and Qin Shou in disbelief.
"What are you looking at? Didn’t you see my master say he’d teach me how to cook? No wonder you can’t enter the school, it turns out you’re naturally handicapped!" Qin Shou boasted, tilting his head and yelling.
Hearing this, many of the cooks were so angry they felt like their noses could spew fire. How could this damn rabbit be so lucky?
While everyone felt unconvinced deep down, they all knew about the Kitchen God’s temperament—quick to start a fight and leave you without a temper. Who could stand that?
So, they all shut their mouths, feeling a mixture of envy and resentment in their hearts, and kept their hands busy cooking...
"Rabbit, the Way of Culinary Arts is also one of the Three Thousand Great Daos. The practice of culinary arts cannot rely solely on meditation; it requires diligent learning and practice. Experiencing the Way of Culinary Arts through cooking is the fastest method of enlightenment. However, people who cook while trying to comprehend the Dao are easily distracted and find it hard to attain a state of enlightenment. Hence, they end up cooking for the sake of cooking and reserve their Dao contemplation for their leisure time. As a result, not only is the speed of enlightenment slow, but the depth of their understanding is also shallow, making significant accomplishments difficult," The Kitchen God said, leading Qin Shou out of the kitchen and speaking to him as they walked.
Dog Xiaotian saw the two of them coming out and, after some thought, followed them.
The Kitchen God didn’t hide anything from him, allowing him to listen.
Dog Xiaotian grunted, "Kitchen God, are you telling me that cooking is also one of the Three Thousand Great Daos?"
The Kitchen God smiled and said, "The Three Thousand Great Daos are just a figurative number; how many daos there are under Heaven, nobody knows. But the Dao Ancestor once said that whatever conforms to oneself is a Great Dao. In other words, any path that fits one’s own nature is a Great Dao."
Dog Xiaotian was left speechless... Although he followed Erlang God, Yang Jian himself was a quiet person and seldom spoke about the Dao.
Moreover, Erlang God didn’t have many friends, spent every day at Guan Estuary, comprehending the Heavenly Dao on his own, and had no time to discuss it with him.
As a result, Dog Xiaotian also stayed cooped up in Guan Estuary without going out to listen to others discuss the Dao, his own comprehension was slow, and he knew very little about all this.
Qin Shou, on the other hand, was a blank slate; whatever others said, he just listened, and as for right or wrong... He felt that once he knew more, he would naturally compare and contrast, and there was no rush to distinguish.
Seeing how eager and studious the Rabbit seemed, the Kitchen God became more talkative and continued, "So you see, if you want to learn cooking, the first thing you need to learn is this Divide Spirit technique!"
