Rabbit Must Die
Chapter 158 - 157 Little Animal Ah_1

Chapter 158: Chapter 157 Little Animal Ah_1

The next moment, Tianpeng Marshal shrank and shrank, until he finally turned into a small green frog, and with a grin said, "This time sneaking in, there shouldn’t be any problems, right? Hmm... better still be careful, better stay away from that Rabbit, and look around to see if there are any drains or the like to slip into."

As he spoke, Tianpeng Marshal was about to turn around, only to see a white figure walking out of the Moon Palace gates. That instant, he felt the whole world light up, devoid of anything else, and he howled in his heart, "Fairy Chang’e?!"

"Yu’er, I’m going to pick some osmanthus flowers, will you come?" Chang’e asked.

Qin Shou yawned and said, "No thanks, you go ahead."

Chang’e nodded and smiled as she walked toward the osmanthus forest.

The moment Tianpeng Marshal saw this, he was overjoyed and screamed in his head, "Heaven is helping me, I don’t have to face the damn rabbit, and I can feast my eyes on the fairy! Haha..."

So, Tianpeng Marshal flicked his toad legs, instinctively stood upright, and began to run. After two steps, he suddenly realized something was amiss; a prickling sensation overcame him, and when he turned his head, he saw the Rabbit looking up at him!

A layer of sweat instantly formed on Tianpeng Marshal’s forehead. Indeed, a toad running like that was a bit strange...

So Tianpeng Marshal quickly put down his front legs and started to run on all fours...

As he ran, he suddenly noticed that the Rabbit’s gaze had grown even stranger, and only then did he remember that a toad was supposed to hop!

Running like this was weird too!

So, he started hopping.

Indeed, once he began hopping, the Rabbit stopped looking at him and jumped off the bed, turning around to go into the courtyard.

Seeing this, Tianpeng Marshal could not help but laugh to himself, thinking, "This silly rabbit, even a toad running on two legs didn’t seem odd to it, haha... serves the dumb rabbit right!"

Hopping along, Tianpeng Marshal quickly caught up with Chang’e. He saw her rise on clouds to pick osmanthus flowers from the tree; every move she made caused him to be beside himself with joy, and he couldn’t help but let out a "Croak..."

Chang’e, on reflex, looked down.

Tianpeng Marshal was immediately thrilled, "She saw me, haha... Come on, come look at how adorable this frog is, don’t you want to hug it? Come on, hug me..."

Tianpeng Marshal’s heart burst with elation, a smile blooming on his face.

Sure enough, Chang’e said in surprise, "A frog? How cute... and plump..."

Tianpeng Marshal laughed inwardly, "Of course, who am I? The number one handsome guy of the Heavenly Court, Tianpeng!"

Then he saw Chang’e descend from the clouds and cautiously approached, as if afraid he would run away...

Tianpeng’s heart roared with laughter, "Don’t worry, fairy, I definitely won’t run! Come... touch me, hug me, even a kiss would do! Today is my lucky day!"

Before he could revel in his glee for long, Tianpeng saw Chang’e purse her lips in a smile, then suddenly pounced over, scooping him into her palm.

Tianpeng could only feel a wave of fragrance envelop him, delightfully allowing Chang’e to hold him, feeling incredibly satisfied within... thinking, "Come on, hug me, kiss me, it’s all good, I am yours!"

However, the next moment, Tianpeng only felt his back legs being grabbed, and then he was hoisted up upside down, gradually being brought face to face with Chang’e’s lovely visage.

Looking at this unspeakably beautiful face, Tianpeng felt happiness was so near he couldn’t help but exclaim again, "Croak!"

Chang’e was indeed amused by the croak and with a smile said, "Who would’ve thought there would be such a plump frog on the moon? Had I known, I wouldn’t have needed to eat osmanthus trees for so many years. Yu’er wouldn’t have to gnaw on tree bark every day... Even though there’s less of it, it’s still nice to change flavors."

Upon hearing this, Tianpeng suddenly felt that something about this picture wasn’t quite right...

A beautiful girl, seeing a cute little animal, should be hugging and kissing it, right?

And then I heard Chang’e laugh heartily, "Yu’er always found me delicious treats before, but this time, finally, I caught one myself, haha... Hmm, although it’s a bit small, it’s so plump, roasting it should be really fragrant."

Chang’e, as if fearing that it would escape, tied its hind legs with grass rope and merrily carried it along, running and jumping while shouting, "Yu’er, Yu’er! Guess what I caught? A fat frog, how do you think we should eat it? I’ve thought about it... roasted would definitely be delicious, but we’ve had too much greasy food these past days, let’s steam it! If not, stewing it into a soup would work too, we can drink a good amount each!"

Tianpeng, upon hearing this, felt a chill throughout his body, ice-cold and on the verge of tears. He had really fallen into a pit!

Tianpeng was about to run when suddenly he heard Rabbit’s shout ahead, "Haha, I saw it too, I just went to scrub the pot, the water’s ready, let’s go, time to make soup!"

Tianpeng looked back and saw the Rabbit running out with a large turtle shell, which landed with a thud on the ground, water splashing out from the shell...

Tianpeng cursed in his heart, "Damn it, the bastard really went to scrub the pot and get the water ready! That damn rabbit, how is he so fast?"

In the instant that the Rabbit came over, Tianpeng yelled, "Let go!"

Then, with a kick of his legs, he shook off the grass rope and jumped to the ground, springing up to run away!

Just at that moment, a huge black turtle shell came crashing down from above!

Thud!

The turtle shell landed, smashing a large pit into the ground, soaking the dirt below with water...

Chang’e leaned in and asked, "Did you catch it?"

Qin Shou, stroking his chin and looking thoughtful, said, "I don’t know, this toad is a bit strange."

Chang’e nodded and said, "That’s right, to get this plump just by eating grass, it’s definitely strange."

Qin Shou instinctively sucked in his chubby belly and coughed dryly, saying, "This plumpness has nothing to do with what it eats."

Chang’e pinched Qin Shou’s chubby cheek and said, "Yeah, you’re right, it has nothing to do with it, haha..."

Qin Shou rolled his eyes, ignoring the girl, and gingerly lifted the turtle shell, only to see darkness inside...

Chang’e cautiously asked, "Did you cover it?"

Qin Shou said, "I didn’t see it, let me lift and check..."

Qin Shou slowly lifted the shell, but there was nothing, he lifted more, still nothing.

Qin Shou raised an eyebrow and flipped over the turtle shell in one go. The ground was empty! Qin Shou cried out, "That toad, it ran so fast!"

"He’s on the turtle shell!" exclaimed Chang’e.

Qin Shou turned his head and saw a toad with its four legs stuck to the inside top of the turtle shell as if clinging for refuge. Upon seeing Rabbit look over, it sprang up and soared into the air, transforming into a stream of light that quickly disappeared!

Qin Shou watched the toad’s fading figure and called out, "Marshal, take care!"

The stream of light clearly shuddered, but it still escaped into the distance.

"Marshal? What marshal is this toad?" asked Chang’e, astonished.

Qin Shou chuckled, "Our Moon Palace is only so big, we’ve gone over every inch of it. If there really was such a plump toad, would we not know of it?"

Chang’e nodded earnestly, "Hmm, I think so too."
