Rabbit Must Die -
Chapter 116 International Model_1
Chapter 116: Chapter 116 International Model_1
Raw garlic cloves, many people find them hard to stomach, but Qin Shou from his previous life relished this particular taste, dipping garlic cloves into sauce, a delight he could enjoy over and over all day long.
Now with garlic cloves at hand, how could he possibly hold back? A bite of meat followed by a bite of garlic, he ate with sheer joy.
Once full and satisfied, Qin Shou turned and headed off to school.
Standing at the Southern Gate today was not Mo Lishou but an unfamiliar figure, holding a large pipa, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets at the sight of Qin Shou.
Qin Shou thought, you’re glaring at me? Well, I’ll glare right back at you!
So, from a distance, their gazes locked, drawing closer and closer until finally, they were almost face to face before stopping.
At that moment, Qin Shou remembered the fellow with the pipa must be one of the Four Generals of the Mo family, Mo Lishou’s elder brother, the Chiguo Heavenly Lord of the East, Mo Lihai! This guy was probably looking at him unfavorably because of Mo Lishou’s incident.
But then again, just because he didn’t take kindly to the rabbit, did it mean the rabbit had to like him back?
A quarter of an hour later, Qin Shou squinted his eyes, still not budging.
Seeing this, Mo Lihai snickered disdainfully, a smidge of victorious pride swelling within him—it had to be said, he hadn’t moved a muscle!
In fact, before Mo Lihai had arrived, he knew that this rabbit was a tough nut to crack and that the support behind it was nothing short of terrifying, enough to deter even their immediate superior from wanting to stir up trouble.
Given that, he certainly wasn’t looking to invite trouble either.
But when his own brother had been bullied, and by a rabbit no less, swallowing that kind of indignity simply wasn’t an option! So, when Mo Lishou suggested swapping shifts, Mo Lihai stepped forward to take his brother’s place. He wanted to see for himself just what kind of rabbit dared to bully his brother, and at the same time, see if he could find an opportunity to avenge his sibling.
With resentment in his heart, his gaze towards the rabbit was naturally unfriendly, but what he hadn’t expected was for the rabbit to lock eyes with him. How could he then show any weakness? So he glared back, and now, this rabbit, who vexed so many, was thwarted by his glare, giving Mo Lihai a smug sense of accomplishment.
Just as Mo Lihai was reveling in his glee, the rabbit suddenly smiled, then opened its mouth wide—unbelievably wide!
"Ha!—" The rabbit huffed a breath at Mo Lihai.
"Ugh..." Mo Lihai felt a wave of garlic odor hit him hard in the face, wild and dominating, rushing into his nostrils and through his body, prompting an uncontrollable bout of retching. Mo Lihai cursed in his heart, "Damn rabbit, how much garlic did you eat?"
Qin Shou smacked his lips, tilted his head back, chest puffed out, strutting away in utter swagger, murmuring to himself, "Try to compete with me? I shall smoke you out!"
Having passed the Southern Gate, Qin Shou saw from afar a small earthen pillar standing outside the Fierce Beast Park! A tiny Local God of Land was perched atop a walking stick, his eyes beaming like searchlights, fiercely surveying everything around him.
"Local God of Land, what are you up to?" Qin Shou asked out of curiosity.
The God of Land huffed and said, "Watching for dogs! I refuse to believe, with me keeping watch like this, that any dog could still sneak away with the beasts from my territory!"
Then, Qin Shou spotted a small Fire Chicken sneaking out from behind the grove... Clearly, the critter had been up to no good again!
Qin Shou glanced at the God of Land, then at the Fire Chicken, and silently offered three seconds of silent tribute for the blind god.
Then, Qin Shou waved to the Taitai Le, skulking about and trying to make a getaway in the distance, calling out, "Jiucai, good morning!"
At this, Taitai Le’s hair stood on end.
Almost immediately, the God of Land turned around and with a furrowed brow, he asked, "Little Phoenix, what are you still doing here?"
Taitai Le hadn’t spoken yet when Qin Shou had already dashed over, wrapping an arm around Taitai Le’s shoulder and whispering, "You handle it."
"I... I’ll split half with you at most, don’t even think about getting more!" Taitai Le felt so aggrieved. Why did she run into this damn rabbit every day? Why was she caught red-handed by this damn rabbit every time? What on earth had she done to this rabbit in her past life to warrant such haunting in this one?
Upon hearing this, Qin Shou smiled contentedly, "Deal."
After speaking, Qin Shou called out, "Local God of Land, Jiucai had agreed to meet here, waiting for me!"
The God of Land seemed to still trust Qin Shou quite a bit, nodding and then looking at the two with a gaze that said ’I’m looking at a fool’, "You two have it tough, waiting until now."
"What do you mean?" Taitai Le and Qin Shou were confused.
The God of Land said, "Don’t you know that it’s past Rabbit Hour now? You’re late!"
"What?!" Jiucai panicked upon hearing this and started to bolt!
Qin Shou grabbed her wing and yanked her back, "What’s the rush?"
"We’re already late!" Taitai Le shouted anxiously.
Qin Shou said, "Yeah, we’re late, so what? If you run faster, can you make it not late? Since we’re late anyway, why not relax and take it easy, walk slowly."
"I don’t believe you!" Taitai Le ran off, calling out as she did, "Rabbit, you dawdle so much and have no respect for the rules, I’m going to tell the master, and he will surely punish you severely, just you wait!"
Qin Shou shook his head, not taking it seriously, and muttered, "Such a cute, innocent kid... must be a boy... too bad, just a bit effeminate."
Plop!
Taitai Le, in mid-run, stumbled and fell flat on the ground, then turned her head back, swinging her fists, yelling, "Damn rabbit, you’re dead meat! I’m going to throw dirt on you first, make you take the fall!"
Then Taitai Le disappeared in a cloud of dust.
Qin Shou pursed his lips, getting a bad rap? Was he afraid? Was it just about taking a spanking? All the better!
The God of Land spoke slowly at this time, "Rabbit, don’t be afraid, I trust your character. I’ll write a letter to Wenqu Star Monarch right away to vouch for you. Your character and manners are quite good, but that little Phoenix is not up to standard. Moreover, I can’t stand watching her frame her classmates like this. I’ll testify for you, she’s intentionally smearing you!"
Qin Shou was taken aback, could there really be such good luck? Indeed, being a good person, no, a good rabbit, an international benchmark, a world model, had its benefits!
So, Qin Shou happily took the letter written by God of Land, and walked off smiling from ear to ear.
At the same time, he pondered whether he should be a little less underhanded from now on...
And the God of Land, fully focused on watching for any sneaky black dogs around, had no idea of Qin Shou’s thoughts. If he knew, he probably would have felt an immediate urge to bite him dead.
When Qin Shou reached Literature Garden, outside Wenqu Palace, he saw Wenqu Star Monarch with a pale face not standing upright as usual, but sitting on a chair with a gloomy face looking at him, with the late Taitai Le in front as well.
"You two, you were late today, give me one reason!" asked Wenqu Star Monarch.
Taitai Le was a bit scared and said, "I overslept..."
"Overslept? You really think the rules of Literature Garden are made of paper? Longhuai, spank Taitai Le with thirty big planks!" This time, Wenqu Star Monarch got smart, no more eating, straight to spanking!
