Quadruplets’ Charm: The Tycoon’s Hidden Heirs
Chapter 479 - 478: She Was Too Dull

Chapter 479: Chapter 478: She Was Too Dull

The daughter couldn’t bear to scold her, but it wasn’t necessarily the same with her son.

Xing Ling hurriedly hung up the phone and frantically went to find her son.

Sure enough, she saw Junjun and Zhengzheng rolling on the ground, with Zhengzheng’s face all red from being hit.

"Separate now!" Xing Ling, furious, stepped forward to pull them apart. She frowned at Haohao and Xibao who were standing by, "You two just stood there watching?"

Xibao and Haohao hung their heads with woeful expressions.

After Junjun and Zhengzheng were separated, both wore a defiant look on their faces.

"What’s going on? Why are you fighting? Weren’t you just playing around just now?" Xing Ling checked Zhengzheng’s face, relieved it wasn’t disfigured. Then she checked Junjun to see if he was injured anywhere.

"Mom, it’s okay, fighting is normal," Zhengzheng comforted.

"How is it normal?" Xing Ling couldn’t have been more speechless.

"Mom, Zhengzheng said that your favorite child is him, which is simply asking for a beating!" Junjun stood with his arms crossed, looking fierce.

Xing Ling felt a headache coming on, "All this over that?"

"Mom, this is serious!" Junjun insisted.

Xing Ling couldn’t help but laugh, then she turned and sat down on the couch, looking at Ye Sihan across from her on another sofa, sipping coffee with a calm face as if this had nothing to do with him.

Grinding her teeth, she thought, right, this is a problem between mom and the kids, it has nothing to do with dad at all!!

"Mom, why aren’t you saying anything?" Junjun pounced over, hugging his mother’s neck, still so clingy despite being a big guy now.

"Do you three look any different?" Xing Ling asked.

Junjun shook his head.

"If you look the same, then why would my affection for you be different?" Xing Ling countered.

"And me, mom?" Xibao, who didn’t look like her brothers, came up with hopeful eyes to ask.

"Of course you’re also mom’s treasure!" Xing Ling held her, surprised internally, how did she get so heavy?

"I love mom the most!" Xibao kissed her mother’s face.

Xing Ling thought, you love mom the most, so can you please stop giving her scares in the future?

It really could scare someone to death!

"Come here, let dad hold you." Ye Sihan beckoned Xibao over to sit on his lap.

Xibao stretched her leg, nearly numb.

Seeing the chocolate in Xibao’s mouth, he asked, "How many pieces of chocolate is that now?"

"Umm... I forgot."

"This is the last one, got it?" Xing Ling asked.

"The last one for today?" Xibao asked.

"Right."

Xibao became unhappy, puffing up her cheeks with a pitiful look at her mother.

Xing Ling turned her face away, refusing to look at her, so as not to soften her own resolve.

After fussing on the plane for five or six hours, everyone was tired.

The children each had their own rooms.

Xing Ling’s room was also separate, and just as she was about to close the partition, the door opened startling her, she thought it was Ye Sihan.

"Mom!" It was Xibao who came in, closed the door behind her, and climbed onto her mom’s bed, "I want to sleep with mom because I have trouble sleeping in new places."

Xing Ling chuckled, "You have trouble sleeping in new places, do you?"

"A little bit," Xibao snuggled into her mom’s embrace.

What could Xing Ling do? Spoil her, of course!

Just as Xibao settled in, there was a knock on the door. Ye Sihan pushed the door open and, seeing Xibao in bed, asked, "Why have you come to sleep here?"

"Dad, were you looking for me?" Xibao raised her head and asked.

"Hmm, you weren’t in your room. You two sleep," Ye Sihan closed the door, very disciplined, not even stepping inside.

Xibao hugged her mom’s neck, "Mom, I’m so happy."

"Why?"

"Because mom came with us to find dad."

"Mom has said before, just because dad and mom don’t live together doesn’t mean anything else is different," Xing Ling said.

"It’s different," Xibao pouted, looking unsatisfied.

Xing Ling sighed inwardly, this child...

Thinking of something, she looked at the closed door warily, "Last time you asked dad if he liked mom, what did he say to you?"

"Dad said it’s a secret, and I can’t tell a third person," Xibao replied.

"Not even me?"

"I’ll tell mom later."

Xing Ling couldn’t help but smirk; even at such a young age, she knew how to keep secrets.

As she held her daughter, her thoughts tumbled around. What had Ye Sihan told Xibao that required such secrecy?

"What does Mommy hope Daddy would answer?" Xibao asked.

"You’re asking me now?" Xing Ling teased as she flicked her little nose.

"Tell Xibao~"

"It’s a secret."

"No fair~" Xibao whined.

"How about we exchange secrets?" Xing Ling suggested.

"I’m sleepy, goodnight Mommy." Xibao buried her head into her mother’s embrace.

Xing Ling looked at her, thinking she was quite sharp, knowing that exchanging secrets meant she had to reveal her own.

When she woke up, Xing Ling was a bit dazed.

She sat up in bed and looked around the room that lived deep in her memories.

It was... the room she had once lived in at Ye Mansion.

Had she really gotten off the plane?

Without even realizing it?

What’s more, Xibao wasn’t by her side.

Xibao walked to the balcony and saw the quadruplets racing with penguins in the distance.

Running on the lawn.

Beside them were maids helping to fly kites.

The scene was so warm, so joyful.

Xing Ling was somewhat spellbound; she was back at Ye Mansion.

Her emotions were indescribably surreal...

Someone knocked on the door. Xibao thought it was a maid, but who entered was Ye Sihan.

It was one thing to knock at the Xing Family’s place, but knocking here at Ye Mansion, too? This man truly had changed.

Facing the approaching Ye Sihan, she subtly moved away.

Her body was pressed against the railing.

Ye Sihan seemed not to notice her guarded reaction, looking off into the distance, "You were never this happy coming back before. Aren’t you going to take a photo with your phone?"

"I can take it later."

"Where would you like to stay? Your second brother’s apartment?"

"Yes."

"You want to move there today?"

"Yes."

"Actually, you can stay in this room too; I won’t disturb you. Or you could pick another one, farther from my room," Ye Sihan said. "After all, if you leave here, the children will be disappointed."

"You didn’t say that before," Xing Ling said, displeased.

"I won’t force you, I want you to choose on your own," Ye Sihan’s knowing gaze met hers. "Also, I am taking them on a trip in a few days, and you will definitely come with us. Then, you’ll have to face me. Ayu, we have children; these things are unavoidable. Unless you don’t care about the children’s mental well-being."

"If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t have come to Kyoto," Xing Ling said.

"Even if you want to avoid me, don’t make it too obvious," Ye Sihan advised.

Xing Ling bit her lip.

To not make it too obvious, she’d have to stay here at night, right?

"Mommy, Daddy!"

Xing Ling looked down; the quadruplets were standing below, calling out to them.

She waved back at them.

"Where are you taking them to play? The Maldives?"

"Do you have any suggestions?" Ye Sihan asked.

"If you haven’t decided yet, why not ask the children?" By suggesting this, Xing Ling was implying she’d also join them on the trip.

"Okay," Ye Sihan masked his deep thoughts and continued his slow advance.

That night, Xing Ling stayed at Ye Mansion, feeling as though she had fallen into a morass from which she couldn’t escape.

Yet she couldn’t pinpoint a sense of being forcefully manipulated by Ye Sihan.

Was she being too obtuse?

Surely not? After all, she could leave anytime if she wanted to.
