Chapter 477 - 476: Uncle Is Here to Save You

Chapter 477: Chapter 476: Uncle Is Here to Save You

The sky was getting darker and darker; no matter how much she walked, it seemed she could never find her way out. Her legs were so tired.

Xibao squatted down to rest, waiting for her dad and mom to come find her.

She had initially thought to hide and make her dad and mom worry about her, before making up with them in the end.

If her dad and mom discovered she was lost, they would search for her together; mom would definitely rely on dad, and in the end, ask dad for a kiss.

Then she and her brothers could always live with dad and mom together.

Though living at her uncle’s place was nice, they didn’t want just dad by himself; she wanted to return to the capital with mom and live inside Ye Mansion.

As she thought, she began to cry.

Tired from crying, she curled up under a tree and fell asleep.

She didn’t know that her dad, mom, uncles, and brothers, who couldn’t find her, were all frantic with worry.

"Hey, why are you sleeping here?"

Xibao, woken up by the noise, lifted her face, but the flashlight shining on her face prevented her from seeing the person in front of her clearly.

As the light from the flashlight moved away, the figure in front of her remained blurry in Xibao’s eyes which had not yet adjusted. The figure was tall, "Is it brother?"

"A Chinese person?"

Because Xibao subconsciously spoke in Chinese, the other party was able to understand.

Xibao stood up, still having to look up to see the face of the youth.

He was tall, seemingly older than her brothers, with eyes that looked like those of a bad person.

So Xibao turned and ran.

But this was a mountain path, her foot tripped on a dead branch, and "Ah!" she fell to the ground, her knee burning with pain, but she forced herself not to cry.

Seeing this, the youth stepped forward, scooped her up, and carried her on his shoulder—

"Ah! What are you doing? Put me down! My dad and mom will come to find me; if you bully me, they will kill you!" Xibao had never been carried like this and was screaming in terror.

As though he hadn’t heard a thing, the youth walked a considerable distance, until he saw a wooden cabin hidden among the mountains.

Although it was a wooden cabin, upon entering, there were actually two stories, just like a duplex apartment in the city.

Clean and tidy, with signs of life everywhere, it was indeed the youth’s residence.

He dropped Xibao on a chair.

The youth remarked, "Really heavy."

Xibao’s eyes widened. Was this person calling her fat? She wanted to scold him, but this person was taller than her brothers and had a fierce face. He didn’t seem like a good person.

Even under the lights, she felt threatened.

"Are you going to kidnap me and ask my dad and mom for money?"

The youth ignored her and turned to pour himself a glass of water to drink.

Xibao, coming from school and wandering in the mountains for over an hour, was tired, thirsty, and hungry. Seeing the youth drinking water made her throat feel even drier.

But she couldn’t bring herself to ask for water.

When the youth turned back, she immediately looked away.

It wasn’t until he walked over to her and offered her the glass of water.

Xibao lifted her head to look at him and took the water hesitantly, drinking it all up quickly.

Seeing the youth about to leave, Xibao hurriedly got off the chair, but as soon as her foot touched the ground, the pain made her sit down on the floor.

With tears welling up, she looked up at the youth, "Brother, it hurts..."

If the youth hadn’t thought she looked chubby and cute, he wouldn’t have bothered with this trouble.

He lifted her and placed her back on the chair, then pulled off her shoes.

Several big blisters were on her tender soles.

The other foot was the same.

The youth turned and fetched a box, dug out a clump of green stuff from the box, and was about to apply it to her soles.

"What is this? Gross." Xibao’s foot jerked back.

The young boy glared threateningly and grabbed her ankle, slathering on the green ointment.

Xibao felt the soft touch as the sole of her foot was coated completely.

But soon, a cool sensation penetrated her skin, and the wound stopped hurting.

"Brother, is this medicine?"

The boy stood up, "What else do you think I am doing, testing poison on you?"

Xibao couldn’t believe the words that came from his mouth, puffed out her cheeks, thought for a moment, and still said, "Thank you, brother."

The boy leaned his back against the table edge, sizing up the little girl who appeared to be seven or eight years old.

Her entire body was dressed in high-quality clothes, her little leather shoes were expensive, her delicate skin was tender; she was evidently grown in a well-off family like a little princess.

"Did you get separated from your family?" asked the boy.

"I ran out on my own."

"Rebellious."

"That’s not true!" Xibao felt she wasn’t such a person and retorted. Then her expression turned despondent, "Dad’s in the capital, and my brothers and I and Mom are in M country. Mom and Dad have had a bit of a problem, so I thought if I hid, they would worry and come together."

The boy knew of the capital in China, a city of prosperity and power.

"Whether they’ll come together I don’t know, but they are sure to thrash you," the boy said.

"Does it hurt to be beaten by Mom and Dad?" Xibao asked.

Hearing this, the boy knew she had never been beaten, definitely coddled and afraid of being dropped.

His world and hers were as different as heaven and earth.

If he wasn’t beating others, he was growing up in an environment where he was getting beaten.

"Brother, do you live here alone?" Xibao asked.

The boy didn’t respond when the sound of a helicopter from above instantly made him alert all over.

He scooped up Xibao and stuffed her into a cabinet on the second floor, "If you don’t want to die, stay quiet, understand?"

After warning her, he turned and opened a drawer.

Through the crack of the cabinet door, Xibao saw what the boy was holding in his hand—it was a terrifying gun.

The boy kicked the cabinet door shut with one foot, causing Xibao to shiver in fright, enveloped in total darkness, unable to see her own hand in front of her.

The boy went downstairs and cracked open the door, spotting a crowd outside that resembled a large search party, consisting of both men and women.

The expression on the woman’s face was very anxious, looking almost shattered.

The little girl he had picked up shared a strong resemblance with this woman.

The boy silently tucked the gun into his waistband and, when someone knocked, he opened the door.

Ye Sihan looked at the boy and, even though his hostility and cold glint were well-concealed, showed him the photo on his phone, "Have you seen this little girl?"

"Have you found her?" Xing Ling asked in a hurry. "I’m her mother. If you’ve seen her, you must tell me, please!"

"She’s in the cabinet upstairs," the boy had just finished speaking.

Xibao ran thump thump thump to the wooden railing and happily waved down, "Dad, Mom, Uncle, I’m here!"

"Xibao!" Xing Ling ran up to the second floor, scooped Xibao into her arms, "Why did you run off here? You scared Mom to death!"

Tears flowed uncontrollably down.

"Mom, I’m sorry..." Xibao sobbed.

"Let Mom check if you’re hurt," Xing Ling pulled her back and then noticed her foot on the ground, "What happened to your foot?"

Xing Yanjie, who was beside them, scooped Xibao into his arms, noticing the beginning to deflate water blisters on the sole of her foot, clearly signs of a long journey.

Feeling heartbreak for his niece, his eyes even turned red.

"Don’t be afraid, Uncle has come to save you," he said.

As Xibao got up, her legs went weak, and just as she was about to fall, Ye Sihan caught her in his arms.

Xing Ling’s nerves had been tense for hours, and once Xibao was found, her emotions spiraled out of control upon relaxing.

The tears flowed endlessly.
