Quadruplets’ Charm: The Tycoon’s Hidden Heirs -
Chapter 430 - 429: Staying with You Day and Night
Chapter 430: Chapter 429: Staying with You Day and Night
Xing Ling’s long eyelashes trembled as she slowly opened her eyes, not yet fully conscious. She opened her mouth as if to call someone but couldn’t make a sound.
"Aling?" Ye Sihan bent down, unable to hide his excitement and nervousness, staring into Xing Ling’s eyes.
Xing Ling’s pupils gradually became clear, and when she saw the man in front of her, her gaze trembled and shrank.
She stared at him blankly, her thoughts seemingly not fully recovered, appearing sluggish.
"Mommy!"
"Mommy!"
"Mommy, we’re here!"
"Mommy!!" Xibao cried, trying to climb onto the bed but unable to get up.
Xing Ling turned her face and saw the quadruplets crying together at the edge of the bed; her eardrums felt like they were vibrating, and her gaze suddenly became alert.
Then her nose tingled, her eyes heated up, and tears slid down from the corners of her eyes, "Don’t cry... cough..."
Her throat, unused to speaking for so long, was dry and slightly stinging.
Just as she was about to swallow to ease it, a straw was brought to her lips.
She hesitated for three seconds before opening her mouth.
"Drink slowly," Ye Sihan said with movements and a gaze that were both extremely careful.
"Mommy, take your time drinking."
After a few sips, Xing Ling turned her face away.
Ye Sihan took the water away.
Xing Ling raised her hand and touched Xibao, who was closest, wiping away her tears, "What’s... wrong?"
"I fell down, it hurt," Xibao sobbed, looking particularly pitiful. "It doesn’t hurt anymore now that Mommy is awake."
Xing Ling looked at them fondly, with the figure of Ye Sihan in the corner of her eye.
An undeniable presence.
There was a knock at the door of the hospital room, and the doctors came in to check on Xing Ling’s health.
Ye Sihan pulled the quadruplets away.
Xing Ling sat up in bed, and although her face was a bit pale, she was quite alert after waking up.
After the examination, the doctor said that waking up was a good sign and that she could be discharged tomorrow.
The quadruplets were overjoyed to hear this.
"I hate it when Mommy is sick!" Junjun was unhappy.
"Mommy will be more careful from now on," Xing Ling said, lifting the blanket and preparing to get out of bed.
"Where is Mommy going?" Zhengzheng asked.
"To the bathroom." As soon as Xing Ling’s words fell, a figure beside her leaned in and picked her up.
"I can walk by myself," Xing Ling refused.
"You’ve just woken up; you don’t have much strength in your legs," Ye Sihan said, lowering his eyes to look at her.
Xing Ling didn’t speak anymore and turned her face to look away.
He carried her into the bathroom and set her on the toilet.
Seeing that Ye Sihan didn’t leave, Xing Ling couldn’t help but speak up, "I can’t do it with you here like this."
"Call me when you’re done," said Ye Sihan, not pressuring her. He left the bathroom and closed the door behind him.
The moment the door closed, Xing Ling’s emotions instantly collapsed.
Tears streamed down her face.
Fearing she would be heard by the people outside, she covered her mouth tightly with her hand.
She cried silently.
She couldn’t believe that she wasn’t dead, had been saved by the Xing Family, and ended up meeting Ye Sihan again.
Why?
Xing Ling had recovered her memory.
She remembered that she was Tang Yu.
And this was not what she wanted.
Was she never to escape Ye Sihan in this life? Not even in death?
What was even scarier was that she was crystal clear about being Xing Ling, including getting a marriage certificate with Ye Sihan.
Ye Sihan was really too much! Deceiving her into getting the certificate!
What should she do now? She had regained her memory and surely would not accept the fact that Ye Sihan was her husband!
Could the hurt he caused her in the past be erased with just a marriage certificate?
Was it compensation? A compromise?
She didn’t want any of it!
There was a knock on the door, "Are you done?"
Ye Sihan was asking.
Xing Ling’s eyes were red as she looked toward the door.
Tears still trembled in her eyes.
She immediately wiped the tears from her face, regaining her composure.
She didn’t want Ye Sihan to know that she had recovered her memory.
She always felt that once she admitted it, everything would collapse. Ye Sihan was so frightening, how could he let her off easily?
He would coerce, control, and treat her ruthlessly!
"Wait a second!" Xing Ling knew she had to speak up, or the person outside would come in.
She adjusted her pants, then saw herself in the mirror.
It seemed like the face of a stranger she hadn’t seen in a long time.
Jumping into the sea hadn’t ended her life; she had come full circle and was now back in Kyoto, by Ye Sihan’s side.
All of this was too outrageous!
Xing Ling bowed her head, washing her face with clear water.
She heard the sound of the door opening.
Ye Sihan watched Xing Ling washing her face, his dark eyes tranquil and profound.
Xing Ling raised her wet face and said, "I can walk by myself."
Ye Sihan closed the door with the back of his hand, walked over to Xing Ling, slightly narrowed his eyes, and, staring at her as she wiped her face, asked, "Is there any discomfort in your body?"
His gaze was sharp, seemingly not missing any minute expression on her face.
"The doctor said I can be discharged tomorrow," Xing Ling said and then walked toward the door.
As she passed by Ye Sihan, she was pulled into a solid embrace.
"Let me hold you, you scared me to death," Ye Sihan’s voice was husky as his face pressed against her hair. "If you hadn’t woken up, I would have torn down the hospital."
Behind her back, where Ye Sihan couldn’t see, Xing Ling’s gaze trembled, restraining herself from pushing him away fiercely.
Everything... she would wait until she was out of the hospital to deal with it.
"Did you miss me? Hmm?" Ye Sihan asked.
Xing Ling didn’t answer him, but instead said, "The kids are outside, let’s go out!"
"...Okay."
Xing Ling walked out of the bathroom by herself, with Ye Sihan guarding closely behind.
Xing Ling didn’t get on the bed; she sat down on the sofa and talked with the quadruplets gathered around her.
She listened patiently as they talked about some trivial fun incidents.
They were five years old now.
Much bigger than when they were two or three.
In the missing two years, did they miss her a lot?
Xing Ling couldn’t help but think back to the first time she saw the quadruplets.
Something in her heart quietly ached.
Not only had they not forgotten her, but they also missed her all the time.
Around four o’clock, Xing Yanjie burst into the ward.
As soon as he entered, he stared at Xing Ling dumbfoundedly as if fixed in place.
"Second Brother, why are you staring at me like that?" Xing Ling was the first to speak, smiling at him.
Xing Yanjie glanced over to Ye Sihan, who was sitting in a chair, as if asking whether she had regained her memory yet.
Ye Sihan’s face remained serene, giving no reaction to him.
"How are you feeling?" he asked Xing Ling.
"Pretty good, I’ll be discharged tomorrow."
"You nearly scared me to death. If you hadn’t woken up, your eldest brother would have stormed here. I’d be the first one he’d beat up!" Xing Yanjie said. "Once you’re feeling better, you should call him as soon as possible."
"I will," Xing Ling said.
From what Xing Lan told her, she could tell the Xing Family considered her to be the Xing family’s precious daughter, most likely because she had no memory.
Initially, she had pretended to be Xing Ling to avoid causing distress to the grandmother of the Xing Family.
To be honest, she felt grateful to the girl she had come to regard as a real sister.
If not for her, even if she had survived, she wouldn’t have known where she might have ended up.
When she was Xing Ling, she was well protected.
She would remember this kindness.
"Does your head feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Xing Yanjie asked again.
"No, I fell into the pool, not hit my head," Xing Ling said.
"That’s good. But you gave your husband quite the fright, he’s been keeping vigil without rest," Xing Yanjie said.
Xing Ling offered a faint smile, not looking at Ye Sihan but turning instead toward the quadruplets.
Xing Yanjie found Xing Ling’s reaction a bit elusive.
As for Ye Sihan, he hadn’t said a word the whole time; he just watched Xing Ling.
