Chapter 403: 402

Xing Ling’s face turned red, and she took Ye Sihan’s hand away.

Recognizing the familiar voice, she remembered and asked, "Why has he come?"

Ye Sihan’s hand visibly trembled, "You know him?"

"Isn’t he Tang Yu’s first love?" Xing Ling asked. She noticed Ye Sihan’s face was tensed, "What’s wrong with you?"

"Have you met him?" Ye Sihan immediately made a judgment.

"It was that time after hearing your conversation with my second brother, when I ran out without any money or my phone, that I encountered him. He also told me about Tang Yu’s past," Xing Ling confessed truthfully.

"Don’t be alone with him in the future," Ye Sihan gripped her hand, "He mistook you for Tang Yu."

Xing Ling nodded.

There was still commotion at the door, with Ye Yuli seeming determined not to leave without seeing Ye Sihan.

"Let him come in," Ye Sihan said in a deep voice.

The noise outside stopped, and the door opened.

Ye Yuli walked into the hospital room, his gaze immediately falling on Xing Ling.

No matter how many times he saw her, he would never mistake her for someone else.

"Are you here to see me?" Ye Sihan spoke, his voice slightly cold.

Only then did Ye Yuli pull his gaze away and sat down, "To see you. I heard you were injured, so I came to check on you. Seems like you are doing fine now."

"Sorry to disappoint," Ye Sihan glanced at Xing Ling, who was sullenly biting an egg.

"Brother, what are you talking about? We’re brothers," Ye Yuli stressed emphatically.

Ye Sihan took away the porridge in front of Xing Ling, "You’ve eaten enough, go out for a walk."

"Oh," Xing Ling stood up and hurriedly ran out.

She definitely didn’t want to be caught in the middle.

But after running out, Xing Ling still felt uncomfortable.

The topic between Ye Sihan and Ye Yuli was about Tang Yu, right?

Not daring to listen, she yet felt like an outsider.

What kind of love-hate relationship did Ye Sihan have with Tang Yu? She knew nothing about it.

Was it really just an accident that they had a child?

It should be, shouldn’t it? Ye Yuli had no reason to speak well for Ye Sihan, and the atmosphere between them didn’t seem like they were on good terms.

"I see you again."

Xing Ling turned around to see him, ah right, his name was Meng Jilin.

Her memory was still good.

But thinking that he approached her because of Tang Yu, she didn’t feel like talking much.

"You’re being discharged this morning, aren’t you?" Meng Jilin asked.

"Yeah."

"I didn’t properly introduce myself last time, I’m Tang Yu’s high school classmate and her class president."

"You’re not also in love with her, are you?"

"Unrequited love, she doesn’t know," Meng Jilin looked at her deeply, "As long as she’s happy, I’m willing to do anything for her."

"Why are you telling me this? I’m not Tang Yu."

"It’s precisely because you’re not that I have the courage to face a face identical to hers and confess. From secretly loving her in high school until now."

Xing Ling could almost conclude that Tang Yu must have been a very good woman, otherwise, people wouldn’t remain so infatuated with her.

And then there was her first love.

Strangely, she didn’t feel jealous.

As long as Ye Sihan’s affections were for her, that was all that mattered.

"Unfortunately, she had an accident. She committed suicide because of Ye Sihan; how can you stand to stay by his side?"

"What’s that got to do with me? I am me, Tang Yu is Tang Yu."

Just as Meng Jilin was about to speak, the bodyguards came over, glaring threateningly at him.

"I have to get busy."

Xing Ling watched Meng Jilin leave, sympathizing with his unrequited love for Tang Yu, but his words had made her unhappy.

What if Tang Yu committed suicide out of unrequited love?

If Ye Sihan didn’t like Tang Yu, there was no need for him to force himself to compromise, right?

She actually thought Tang Yu was being too extreme.

What was so unbearable that she left her children behind and died?

Back in the hospital room, Ye Yuli was already gone, leaving only Ye Sihan sitting there alone.

He was turned to the side, looking out the window, his profile exuding a cold air along with an undeniable sense of dejection.

"What’s wrong? Did your brother say something to you?" Xing Ling walked up and asked with concern.

Ye Sihan wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into his embrace to sit, "You took so long to come back."

"I... I only stepped away for a moment," Xing Ling said, a bit shy.

What was up with this man, unable to bear even a moment without her?

So you like yourself this much?

"I don’t feel secure at all," Ye Sihan’s complexion wasn’t good as he hugged her, burying his face in her neck, his voice hoarse.

One could sense the negative emotions emanating from him.

"Then... what should we do?"

"Could it be that you might not want me, and fall for someone else?" Ye Sihan asked.

"That’s impossible."

"Last night... I dreamt that you left me."

Xing Ling suddenly remembered she had woken up the night before, seeming because Ye Sihan had awakened.

At the time, she didn’t know why, but now looking back, she realized it was because of such a dream.

"How about... we go and get a marriage certificate?" Xing Ling blurted out almost instinctively.

The face in her neck lifted, and Ye Sihan stared deeply and moistly into her eyes, "Really?"

"Let’s register first, the wedding can wait... wait until I’m mentally prepared," Xing Ling said somewhat coquettishly. "Is this sense of security enough for you?"

Ye Sihan turned her face towards his and kissed her fiercely, "It’s enough."

"Mm!" Xing Ling’s breath caught from the intensity of the kiss.

With reddened cheeks, she endured Ye Sihan’s decisive kiss, lips and tongues tightly entwined, saliva sliding from the corner of her mouth before she could swallow.

The kiss made Xing Ling react.

Her body trembled in Ye Sihan’s arms.

Ye Sihan released her lips, "Do you want it? Let’s go get the certificate first."

"What are you saying, no..." Xing Ling buried her face in his broad shoulder, "I don’t have my household registration book. It’s with my eldest brother."

"I know."

After leaving the hospital, Xing Ling followed Ye Sihan back to the Ye Mansion.

The quadruplets, having not seen their parents for a long time, excitedly pounced upon them.

"Daddy! Mommy!"

"Where did you go?"

"You didn’t take us with you!"

"It was a date!"

Xing Ling glanced at Ye Sihan with embarrassment.

She thought Ye Sihan would comfort the kids and deny it, but instead he said, "Yes, it was a date, my four little light bulbs."

"We’re not little light bulbs!" Junjun was the first to protest.

"Right, big light bulbs," Ye Sihan said.

"Ah! I’m so mad!" Junjun fumed.

Xing Ling couldn’t help laughing at the cuteness.

Ye Sihan scooped up Xibao, "Missed mommy?"

"Hmm-hmm!" Xibao nodded.

"Then watch over mommy with daddy closely, and from now on, wherever mommy goes, we’ll follow, okay?"

"Okay!"

"Okay!"

"Okay!"

"Okay!"

The quadruplets’ eyes twinkled with excitement.

Xing Ling stood to the side with a face that was both red and flustered, as if implying I would run away.

After returning to the Ye Mansion, Xing Ling was still fretting over how to ask her eldest and second brothers for the household registration book so she could register the marriage.

She had spontaneously promised Ye Sihan without thinking, and now she didn’t know how to proceed.

Would her brothers be furious with her?

They surely wouldn’t like it, would they?

To them, this was all utterly out of the blue!

Although Xing Ling had been sleeping with Ye Sihan these past few days, she refused to let him touch her.

He had just been discharged from the hospital, and it was unclear how much his concussion had recovered.

That would be an intense activity.

Xing Ling was not inexperienced with Ye Sihan in bed and knew what it would be like.

It would be a miracle if the concussion didn’t recur!

In the morning, Xing Ling was awakened by the tingling sensation on her body.

Opening her eyes, she met Ye Sihan’s desirous dark pupils, numbing her mind.

"Let me touch, I won’t go any further," Ye Sihan’s voice was husky as if he was almost broken.

"Mm..." Xing Ling’s face turned so red it seemed to bleed, and under the blankets, her two slender white legs uncomfortably straightened and then bent.

Her toes even curled up.
