Chapter 375: Who Made You Look Down on Others with Your Dog Eyes
Chapter 375: Chapter 375: Who Made You Look Down on Others with Your Dog Eyes
Xing Ling felt that although the decision her second brother made to let her stay was a complete surprise, she still felt a sense of relief inside.
At least there won’t be any conflicts with Ye Sihan, right?
She also wanted to exert her strength for the Xing Family.
Of course, she had to guard against Ye Sihan, she couldn’t let the previous incident happen again.
It was enough to take care of the children’s emotions as a stand-in, why should she take care of Ye Sihan’s desires too?
Moreover, she was very clear that once she told what Ye Sihan did to her, the problem definitely wouldn’t be solved as easily as it was now.
At bedtime, the quadruplets found Xing Ling’s room and asked, "Why doesn’t Mommy sleep with Daddy?"
"Shh!" Xing Ling made a silencing gesture to them, "You can’t talk about me sleeping with your daddy in front of outsiders, don’t even mention it!"
"Why not?" the quadruplets asked curiously.
Xing Ling thought to herself, why not? That’s because her second brother is here! He might often be around in the future just to keep an eye on Ye Sihan to prevent him from having male-female desires towards her!
"Mommy, who is that man?" Zhengzheng asked. "Is he Mommy’s friend?"
"He is... my second brother," said Xing Ling.
"Uncle?" Haohao asked in surprise.
"You’re really smart!" Xing Ling patted his little head, "He’s your uncle, and in the US, there’s an even bigger uncle."
"Why haven’t we heard about him before?" Junjun asked.
"I have two uncles..." Xibao’s beautiful big eyes blinked twice, intrigued by the relatives she had never had before.
"I didn’t tell you before because your uncle hadn’t recognized me as his sister yet," soothed Xing Ling.
Because I’m not your real mother!
I suppose Tang Yu didn’t have any siblings, right?
After Xing Ling had interacted with the quadruplets and Ye Sihan for so long, she hadn’t heard of any other family members.
Didn’t Ye Sihan have siblings either? What about his parents?
He wasn’t born from a stone, after all.
However, Xing Ling wasn’t very interested, why should she, a counterfeit, bother with the Ye Family’s relatives?
That night, the quadruplets clung to Xing Ling’s bed to sleep.
Waking up in the morning in Mommy’s arms was a very happy thing!
So what if they were five years old, they still wanted to be with Mommy, never to be separated!
At the breakfast table, seven people ate together, and after the meal, those who needed to go to school went to school, those who needed to go to the office went to the office, and those who needed to go to film went to film.
"Uncle, where are you going? Do you want to ride with us?" Zhengzheng asked.
"We can take you," Junjun said proudly, yet shyly.
"You don’t have a car," Haohao pointed out.
"Uncle?" Xibao.
Xing Yanjie was somewhat taken aback as he looked at the four little ones in front of him.
After learning they were Xing Ling’s children, Xing Yanjie went through a mental shift.
This way they were his own nephews!
"Okay, I’ll ride with you," agreed Xing Yanjie. Then he gave a warning glance towards Ye Sihan and Xing Ling, "I will come stay the night."
After saying this, he turned and got into the car.
Xing Ling knew that her second brother was doing this because he worried Ye Sihan would act inappropriately towards her.
What was Ye Sihan thinking?
She turned her face, wanting to read his expression, but she happened to meet those deep black eyes, as if his gaze had a strong pull, sucking her in all at once.
She fell into a weightless space, making her head dizzy.
There were stairs at her feet, her body swayed, and she missed a step.
The next second, her waist tightened, and she was pulled into a strong chest.
Xing Ling’s breath caught, and her heart nearly stopped beating.
Heat rose up her face.
Xing Ling came back to her senses, immediately left Ye Sihan’s chest, and turned to walk away.
She climbed into the helicopter, and with a bang, the cabin door closed behind her.
As the helicopter started to take off from the ground, Xing Ling couldn’t help turning her head and looking down through the glass.
Ye Sihan’s black silhouette was too clear, noticeable at first glance.
The plane flew higher and higher, but he was still standing there.
Until he was no longer in sight.
Xing Ling’s nerves twitched uncontrollably.
Why did Ye Sihan keep standing there? Was it to watch the helicopter, or was it her?
Just the thought made Xing Ling’s cheeks flush and her heart race.
Feeling a sense of resentment towards her unusual reaction, it was all Ye Sihan’s doing, his hands-on approach, those actions.
Now she felt uncomfortable all over just at the sight of Ye Sihan.
Really, she didn’t want to stay at the Ye Mansion in the first place, and now, to top it off, her second brother was going to stay there too.
But with her second brother staying, at least she’d feel a bit safer.
The following days proved just that, indeed very safe.
Most of the time, she was either with her second brother, and it didn’t matter if Ye Sihan appeared; or she was with the quadruplets.
In front of the children, nothing would happen between her and Ye Sihan.
Yet, Xing Ling felt an emptiness in her chest, as if something were missing.
"Mommy, is Uncle going to live with us from now on?"
"When is he leaving?"
"Doesn’t he have his own home?"
"It’s not good not to go home."
Xing Ling didn’t expect them to ask such questions, "What’s wrong? Don’t you like your Uncle?"
"No." The quadruplets shook their heads in unison.
"When Uncle is here, Mommy doesn’t sleep with Daddy," Haohao said worriedly.
Xing Ling’s expression twitched; their concerns were too avant-garde.
But these were not issues they should be worrying about!
"It has nothing to do with whether Uncle is here or not," she said. "Uncle’s home is abroad, and he has nowhere to stay while working here. With that said, do you still want him to leave?"
The quadruplets, out of compassion, shook their heads.
Xing Ling knew they were kind-hearted and gently ruffled their little heads.
That day, Xing Ling came home early, wanting to take a stroll in the busiest area of Kyoto.
She had known the quadruplets for so long and had not bought them any gifts.
Truthfully, even though they were not her own, no one could dislike such adorable and pretty children.
In spending time with them, Xing Ling felt her maternal instincts had been awakened.
Later on, she thought about the quadruplets in everything she did.
She bought a cup of milk tea, and while sipping it, she strolled around.
She would peek inside any store she came across, not to buy, just out of curiosity.
Entering one shop, Xing Ling bent down to look at the clothes on the rack, casual dresses, apparently the brand’s latest styles.
She examined the dress on the hanger from all angles, completely oblivious to the disdainful scrutiny of the saleswoman from the moment she entered.
Not seeing the price on the dress, Xing Ling asked, "How much is this?"
"So you’ve walked past many stores, haven’t you?" The female shop owner sauntered over and asked.
Xing Ling didn’t quite understand her point but felt uncomfortable with the saleswoman’s tone, "Yes, what about it?"
"So many stores and you haven’t liked a single item? Or is it that you can’t afford it? Maybe all the brand items you’re wearing are fake? I suggest, if you can’t afford it, don’t ask about the price. It makes both you and me embarrassed."
The shop owner said this with a mocking smile on her face.
"What do you mean?" Xing Ling’s face darkened.
"What I mean is, don’t let the door hit you on the way out," the shop owner said, strutting away.
Xing Ling’s face was extremely ugly, and in her fury, she threw the dress to the ground.
The shop owner hurried over, angry, "Do you know how much this dress costs? Can you afford to pay for it if it gets damaged?"
"Who are you to look down on me!? Which eye of yours saw that I can’t afford the clothes?" Xing Ling was equally enraged.
This was the first time in her life she had encountered such a thing.
What clothes couldn’t she afford?
