Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Let Go of Me

Tang Yu looked at the man’s face, so close at hand—his deep and chiseled features, flawless angles, and the powerful aura of a superior; all things she was familiar with, and all things she feared.

She felt as if she had no idea how to resist this man, for there was always this bond between them—the children. How could she sever it?

She knew that forcing it would bring a subtle pain in her heart...

Perhaps only when her heart was completely shattered would she escape the misery that made life worse than death...

The door of the rental opened, and Tang Yu looked toward the living room. There was a moment of stillness in her eyes, filled with disbelief.

Not until the four little ones pounced, clinging tightly to her legs, did she snap out of her shock.

"Mommy!"

"Where did Mommy go?"

"We couldn’t find Mommy!"

"Wuwu!"

Tang Yu stared blankly at the four soft little bodies hugging her, stretched out trembling hands, and embraced them.

Her eyes were at once vacant and overjoyed, tears clinging to her lashes before dropping like pearls off a string.

When she heard the door close behind her, Tang Yu turned her head slightly; the shadow that lurked behind her was gone.

Ye Sihan had left.

This was unexpected; she thought he would stay here, at least not leave so quickly.

Ye Sihan stood by the car, the door open, waiting for him to get in.

But he just stood there, motionless, his tall figure looking frozen.

After a moment, he lifted his face, looking toward the window of Tang Yu’s rental. His whole being stirred, causing his dark eyes to ripple with emotion.

It didn’t matter; he had all the time in the world to let Tang Yu grow accustomed, until...they returned to how things once were.

Inside the rental, the four little ones were ecstatic to see Mommy.

They chattered endlessly around her.

"Mommy, are you crying?" Junjun’s small hand touched Mommy’s face, feeling the wetness of her tears.

Tang Yu gathered herself, "Mommy’s fine, Mommy is just too happy to see you all."

The four little ones looked at Mommy sadly. Is that so? Can happiness make you cry?

Tang Yu suppressed her sorrow and managed a smile, "Tell Mommy, where did you go? Mommy was so worried about you..."

"Mommy, there was a bad person!" Haohao tattled.

"They took us away!" Zhengzheng added.

"Baddie!" Xibao chimed in.

Tang Yu touched their chubby little faces, feeling a deep ache in her heart, "Promise Mommy, never run off on your own again, okay? Even if Mommy isn’t around, you can’t do that, understand?"

"But...but we missed Mommy..." Junjun stood on the sofa, and wrapped his arms around Mommy’s neck possessively, not wanting to be parted from her.

"Even if you miss me, you can’t just run off. You must be good, okay?" Tang Yu knew she should comfort them with promises of frequent visits, but she didn’t dare say so now.

Why make promises to the children she couldn’t keep?

Constantly deceiving them only led to their disappointment, which ultimately did them no good in the end.

"We know now..." The four little ones reluctantly agreed.

After spending over two tender hours with the children, there was a knock at the door.

Tang Yu instinctively tensed up, then relaxed, remembering Ye Sihan wouldn’t knock.

When she opened the door, it was Ye Sihan’s bodyguard, delivering food.

"I can cook, no need to send it again in the future," Tang Yu declined.

"Mr. Ye said the children are growing and need proper nutrition," the bodyguard said with utmost respect.

Tang Yu said no more.

She could refuse, but the children were also Ye Sihan’s, and he had every reason to make arrangements for them.

The table was spread with delicious food, and after that, the bodyguard left.

Tang Yu watched the delighted children and joined them for the meal.

The four little ones stayed in the rental that night; Ye Sihan did not come.

This made her feel somewhat more at ease.

All night, Tang Yu had felt so insecure, clutching Xibao as if she were her only source of comfort.

In the morning, Xibao was the first to wake up, lying still in mommy’s arms with her eyes open, unable to move.

"Hmm..." Xibao sighed deeply.

Tang Yu was almost awake too, and hearing Xibao’s sigh, she couldn’t help but open her eyes and see that she had been pressing down on Xibao, causing her face to turn pale. She quickly let go, "Are you okay, Xibao? Sorry, mommy fell asleep without realizing it."

"Ah..." Xibao’s little tummy could finally puff up completely.

Tang Yu smiled apologetically and kissed her chubby cheek, "Mommy will go make some formula milk for you to drink."

As she left the room, Xibao got up from the bed and followed her mommy, toddling behind her.

When mommy stopped without her knowing, she bumped right into mommy’s leg, "Hmm..."

Looking at the breakfast on the table, Tang Yu didn’t need to guess to know who had brought it.

She just didn’t know whether it was delivered by Ye Sihan or by a bodyguard.

As she was pondering this, the sound of the electronic door lock came from the entrance.

"Daddy!" Xibao called out to the man who entered.

Ye Sihan glanced at Tang Yu, walked to Xibao, and picked her up, "Have you been listening to mommy?"

"Mmhmm!" Xibao nodded.

"Have your brothers not gotten up? Go wake them up for breakfast," Ye Sihan put down Xibao and patted her little head.

And Xibao obediently went to call her brothers.

Only then did Ye Sihan shift his focus back to Tang Yu, his dark eyes looking at her intently.

Tang Yu turned and went into the kitchen to prepare formula for the four little ones.

"I’ll do it."

The bottle in Tang Yu’s hand was taken away, she froze for a moment and then stepped back, watching Ye Sihan skillfully making the formula.

There were four bottles to make, and after watching one, Tang Yu turned and left.

Seeing the four little ones coming out from their room, she took them to wash their faces and brush their teeth.

After they came out, each holding a bottle of milk, they sat at the table to drink, adorable and cute.

Tang Yu noticed Ye Sihan also sitting down at the table, yet she showed no reaction, taking a seat beside Xibao.

It seemed she could accept whatever Ye Sihan did.

In truth, she was wary inside, always thinking about keeping her distance from Ye Sihan.

After breakfast, the four little ones had to head to school.

"Mommy, we’re going together!" Junjun looked at mommy with anticipation.

Zhengzheng and Haohao stepped forward, clutching onto mommy’s hands.

Xibao’s little cheeks were happily flushed.

From the moment Tang Yu stepped out of the house to getting into the Rolls-Royce, Ye Sihan hadn’t said a word, as if he knew that as long as the little ones spoke up, they could restrain her every move.

Having dropped the four little ones off at the school gate, they waved goodbye to daddy and mommy, and they clamored for mommy to come pick them up later.

Tang Yu waved back at them, her face alight with a smile.

But as soon as they were out of sight, her expression returned to one of indifference.

She turned and walked away.

"Where are you going?" Ye Sihan’s voice was deep.

"Just for a walk," Tang Yu replied, and as she did, her wrist was grabbed, and she was pulled over, "Mm! Let me go!"

"People are watching."

Tang Yu, struggling, stopped when she heard that. This was her children’s school, and she and Ye Sihan being together to drop off the kids had definitely caught attention.

She didn’t want people to gossip about her children.

In the moment she was distracted, she was taken to the car.

"Where... where are you taking me?"
