Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Get Out of Here All of You
No matter who came to offer incense to Yu Zhaohui, Tang Yu always knelt aside, her face downturned.
Her long hair half-covered her pale, small face, and she looked utterly dejected.
Not many people came, and after offering incense, they went next door for the mourning meal.
Ye Xianghua watched Tang Yu, who stayed motionless on the ground, worried about her knees and wanted her to get up and move around.
Just as she was about to go over, someone else arrived.
Ye Xianghua looked at the newcomer, taken aback.
She had not invited them.
Lin Shuhuan was in the front, with Ye Yuli and Zhou Qinghua following behind. Together they walked to Yu Zhaohui’s black and white photograph.
As Ye Yuli was about to take an incense stick, Lin Shuhuan stopped him, "There’s no need. This kind of person deserved to die. I only came here to see how she ended up."
Ye Yuli’s brow furrowed slightly, and just as he was about to speak, he noticed out of the corner of his eye Tang Yu, who had already lifted her head, her thin face stirring a surge of pity in him.
Yu Zhaohui was Tang Yu’s only relative. The blow to her had been huge.
"Lin Shuhuan, do you need someone to throw you out?" Ye Xianghua’s face looked terrible, very inhospitable.
The blow to Tang Yu had been huge, and Ye Xianghua was not faring much better.
Lin Shuhuan turned to look at the man in front of her. Zhao Xing loved him, otherwise, she could have had a different happy life even after the divorce.
But she was too stubborn, fixated on this very man!
"So, you have no guilt towards Zhao Xing at all," Lin Shuhuan affirmed. "You knew very well that Zhao Xing loved you, yet you still had an affair. Do you still not understand that all this is retribution?"
Ye Xianghua’s facial muscles tightened as he resisted.
Zhou Qinghua turned her eyes to Tang Yu, who was kneeling to one side, "Will this retribution also fall upon Tang Yu in the future? She’s also quite good at seducing men!"
"If you don’t speak, nobody will think you’re a mute," Ye Yuli’s voice cooled.
"Did Yu Zhaohui have any regrets before she died?" Lin Shuhuan asked Ye Xianghua and Tang Yu. "If she had known she would suffer such retribution in the end, would she have dared to have an affair with a married man? To tell the truth, I came here today to laugh at her! Did you win, Yu Zhaohui? Why aren’t you smug anymore? I’m waiting for you to jump out of the coffin and quarrel with me!"
"Enough!" Tang Yu shouted, trying to stand up, her knees painfully numb.
A strong arm came around her.
Tang Yu lifted her face to meet Ye Yuli’s concerned gaze.
Zhou Qinghua saw this and turned blue with rage.
Ye Yuli dared to hug and embrace Tang Yu in front of her!
"Slow down."
With the support of Ye Yuli’s arm, Tang Yu slowly stood up.
Ignoring the hardened pain in her knees, she looked coldly at Lin Shuhuan, "Are you done laughing? Can you leave now?"
Zhou Qinghua pointed angrily at Tang Yu, "You... don’t you touch Yuli! You dare to seduce someone’s fiancé, beware of ending up like your mother, dying of cancer!"
"If there’s no love, why force someone to marry you?" Tang Yu countered.
"You..." Zhou Qinghua was so angry she couldn’t speak.
Because she knew very well that Ye Yuli didn’t love her!
That counter-question hit her where it hurt!
"You still have time to call off your engagement now, if you end up unhappy after getting married, you’ll also harm your children," Tang Yu didn’t really mean to wish well for anyone.
But saying such things would annoy Zhou Qinghua, and it made Tang Yu feel a bit better.
Ye Yuli was smart and, despite understanding Tang Yu’s intentions, when he looked at the person in his arms, he couldn’t help but feel a burning passion.
Just as Lin Shuhuan was about to speak up and mock Tang Yu, another deep voice, commanding without anger, came through—
"Call off the engagement, and marry you instead?"
The heavy, intimidating footsteps had already reached the hall.
Tang Yu’s body shook, she turned her head, and saw a tall, dark figure, with his bodyguards, descending ominously.
She subconsciously moved to the side, distancing herself from Ye Yuli.
Ye Yuli noticed her reaction, his expression became slightly gloomy.
Zhou Qinghua immediately added fuel to the fire, "Big Brother Ye, just now Tang Yu was seducing Yuli, hugging and embracing him over there, and she asked me to cancel my engagement with Yuli. Today is Yu Zhaohui’s memorial service, and she’s so eager to act, who knows what lowly things she’s been doing behind the scenes..."
Before she could finish, she was silenced by Ye Sihan’s intimidating gaze, which sent chills down her spine. She shut her mouth and hid behind Lin Shuhuan.
Tang Yu stood there without retorting, even turning her face to look away.
But her heart was still full of panic and unease.
She didn’t understand why Ye Sihan had come here. He couldn’t possibly have come to sincerely mourn her mother’s death after learning of it.
It should be the same feeling of shared hatred as Lin Shuhuan.
"Really dead?" Ye Sihan’s voice was icy cold.
"You don’t need to lift a finger, she is truly dead." Lin Shuhuan felt completely relieved.
Tang Yu thought to herself, just as expected.
She lowered her gaze and asked indifferently, "Nobody jokes about death, and you’ve seen how much pain I’m in now, so this retribution must be satisfying, right? So, can I leave now?"
Ye Sihan’s dark eyes looked at her coldly, staring at her face, "Still in the mood to flirt with men, I suppose the pain is just an act."
Tang Yu felt a sting in her nose, angrily looking at him with tears in her eyes, "Rest assured, my mother is dead, and I won’t scheme against you with her anymore. Even if I live like a beggar from now on, I won’t beg you for mercy!"
Ye Sihan said nothing, but his expression became even more chillingly dark, turning the entire mourning hall into an ice cellar.
"What do you mean? Are you planning to fight me for Yuli from now on?" Zhou Qinghua was panicked.
"Get out! All of you, get out!" Tang Yu stepped forward and pushed Ye Sihan forcefully, her courage growing with her loss of control, "Get out of here!"
After she spoke, she turned and ran inside.
Upon seeing the frozen body of Yu Zhaohui in the ice casket, tears madly fell from Tang Yu’s eyes.
Mom...
Tang Yu’s vision darkened, and she collapsed.
With a thud, those outside were startled.
Ye Yuli was the first to attempt to go inside but was stopped by Zhou Qinghua, "Brother Ye is still there, is it your turn to be concerned?"
Ye Yuli turned back, glaring angrily at Ye Sihan who stood there, indifferent.
It was as if whatever happened inside had nothing to do with him.
But after thinking about it, he calmed down; if Ye Sihan truly had given up on Tang Yu, it wouldn’t be a bad thing.
When Tang Yu opened her eyes, she was lying on the couch in the resting room.
There were special rooms for the family to rest here.
She sat up, walked out of the resting room, and came to the mourning hall.
She saw Ye Xianghua crying uncontrollably beside the ice casket.
This was the first time Tang Yu had seen Ye Xianghua cry like this.
Ever since Yu Zhaohui fell ill, he had been holding strong.
Now, in the deep quiet of the night, all the repressed emotions could no longer be held back, and tears were the only outlet.
Tang Yu didn’t want to disturb him, leaning weakly against the wall, her tears sliding down uncontrollably.
She would no longer have a mother from now on.
Feeling alive was so tiring; if living meant experiencing such painful separations, then what was the point of living...
The next day, Yu Zhaohui was buried.
Not many people attended, and the sky drizzled, making the atmosphere even heavier.
Tang Yu glanced at Ye Xianghua beside her and left him the space to be alone, her own eyes red as she walked away.
The umbrella above her was held by Ye Yuli. After walking a couple of steps, Tang Yu’s body went limp, and she nearly collapsed. Ye Yuli immediately wrapped his arms around her, "How are you feeling?"
Tang Yu wanted to say something, but before she could, she burst into tears.
Ye Yuli threw the umbrella aside, scooped her up in his arms, and got into the car.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Tang Yu covered her face and cried nonstop, her whole body shaking, on the verge of fainting.
"Xiaoyu." Ye Yuli wrapped his arms around her shoulder, pressing her head against his chest.
Tang Yu’s tears flowed all over him.
She didn’t cry for long before she fainted again.
Tang Yu hadn’t slept for the past two days, first fainting, then falling into a heavy, unrecoverable sleep.
When she woke up, it was already the middle of the night.
Sitting on the bed, she found the room familiar, and upon hearing the distant sound of the waves, she remembered—this was Ye Yuli’s seaside villa.
The door to the opposite room was open, and the moment Tang Yu stepped out of her room, Ye Yuli, hearing the noise, came out.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, his hand already reaching out, the back of it touching Tang Yu’s forehead, "Temperature’s normal. Food’s been ready; let’s go, I’m hungry too."
"You haven’t had dinner?" Tang Yu walked beside him and asked.
"How could I be in the mood when you weren’t awake?"
