Overflowing Hidden Feelings: This CEO Is Hard to Please!
Chapter 979 - 979 Critical juncture

Chapter 979: Critical juncture Chapter 979: Critical juncture Victoria Garcia spent a day at the company, and after handling important work, her thoughts kept drifting away.

Allen’s story, Edward Hernandez’s words… they kept repeating in her mind, and the only thing that flashed before her eyes was Arnold Johnson’s name and his person.

Between calling Arnold Johnson or going directly to see him, Victoria decided to put the phone in her bag; she resolved to meet him in person, to clarify these matters, and to understand what was really going on between him and Chloe Johnson.

Just as she put her phone into her bag, it rang.

The call was from Edward Hernandez, and without hesitation, Victoria took it.

As soon as she answered, Edward Hernandez’s voice came through, somewhat urgent, “Victoria, I’m almost at the Underground Car Park, hurry down.”

“What’s happened?” Victoria asked, alert.

Edward Hernandez replied, “I feel that the people above me have started to make their move. I’m going to take you to Arnold Johnson now, hurry down!”

“Okay!” Without asking further, Victoria didn’t even go to find Candy Foster – she hung up, grabbed her bag, and left the company immediately.

By the time she reached the Underground Car Park, she saw Edward Hernandez waiting for her at the elevator exit.

Having him by her side somewhat relieved Victoria’s anxiety.

“Paul, what’s happening? Why the sudden urgency?” As Victoria finished speaking, her entire expression turned to shock, “They’re here!”

Edward Hernandez turned around and estimated there were five men, all dressed in black T-shirts. Although they weren’t holding guns, they looked like they could pull them out from somewhere at any moment.

It seemed he was still a step too slowly; if only they had a couple more minutes to get into the car, they wouldn’t have had to fear anything.

Despite the situation, Edward Hernandez shielded Victoria behind him and said in a low voice, “I’ll hold them off, you take the chance to run to the car. I’ve already unlocked it, and the door isn’t fully closed. Once you’re in, don’t think about anything else, just drive out, don’t stop, don’t be afraid to hit them!”

“No… if I go, what will happen to you?”

“This isn’t the time to worry about that. If you don’t leave, neither of us will be able to escape. If you do, I might have a chance to get away. Even if I can’t, they won’t kill me right away. Like you said, my only hope is Arnold Johnson. So, you must get this message to him. If I’m captured, then I can only wait for you to come and save me.”

Edward Hernandez spoke quickly and urgently.

No sooner had he finished than the men rushed at them, and it was clear from their first move that they were skilled fighters.

At this moment, the bodyguard Arnold Johnson had assigned to Victoria didn’t show up.

Victoria’s instinct told her they had probably been dealt with by these men. She wondered if Howard was around today, hoping he was unharmed.

“Run!” Edward Hernandez fought off the assailants while shouting at Victoria.

Victoria looked for an opportunity, but she hadn’t walked a few steps before she was blocked.

Luckily, she had a bit of training under her belt, which her adversaries underestimated. She feigned a stumble and gained some distance. Although her car was parked close to the elevator exit, those mere five hundred meters seemed longer to Victoria than five kilometers.

Just as Victoria dodged the person chasing her and thought she could open the car door, her arm was suddenly grabbed by a black-clothed man who appeared out of nowhere.
