Chapter 954: Satisfy me 2 Chapter 954: Satisfy me 2 Chloe Johnson’s nonchalance did surprise Arnold Johnson slightly.

“Why did you suddenly think of asking me to drink?” Whether he could get a truthful answer or not, Arnold still posed the question.

Chloe fell into a slight silence before speaking with a hint of sadness, “Arnold, I might upset you by saying this.”

If it’s going to upset me, then don’t say it.

However, Arnold did not voice this thought.

Chloe then continued, “Today, I inadvertently heard about what Victoria Garcia did yesterday, and I thought you might be in a bad mood. So, I wanted to ask you out for a drink. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good drink, and I wanted to get drunk, while also seeing if the legendary ‘never gets drunk’ you could actually pass out in front of me.”

Arnold knew that Chloe had always been able to hold her liquor well, so well that he didn’t know to what extent, because he had never seen her drunk.

Of course, the two of them had never competed in drinking before.

Arnold didn’t want to bring up the loss of the child because the pain hidden deep in his heart was not something he wished to expose to those he didn’t want to see it.

After hearing her, all Arnold replied to Chloe was, “Since I’ve agreed to accompany you for a drink, let’s start drinking.”

The Service Manager had already opened a wine bottle that Arnold had kept private in the Winery.

At the same time, Arnold instructed the Service Manager, “Bring out all the wine I’ve kept private here.”

“Mr. Johnson, are you sure you want to drink this much?” the manager asked.

Arnold simply replied, “Hmm, if we can’t finish it, we’ll just store it back.”

The customer is king, especially a customer like this, so the Service Manager didn’t ask any further and left as soon as he confirmed Arnold’s wish.

Arnold picked up his glass and began to drink, and Chloe did the same.

After setting down her glass, Chloe suddenly said, “Arnold, I’m sorry.”

Caught off guard by this sudden apology, Arnold simply raised his eyebrows and gave her a glance.

“I know some of my past actions were foolish, and I hope you won’t blame or resent me for them. I won’t do such foolish things again.” As she spoke, Chloe took the initiative to pick up her glass and drained the remaining wine.

Arnold watched her and followed suit, emptying his glass as well.

When it came to the three words “Victoria Garcia”, Chloe chose to keep silent, simply drinking glass after glass of wine. Even when she did speak, it was only about memories they shared or amusing events from their childhood.

Especially matters concerning Brother Christopher Johnson, Chloe spoke more of.

She knew that Arnold would not dislike hearing about those.

Indeed, as Chloe had expected, whenever Brother Christopher Johnson was mentioned, Arnold became more talkative and naturally drank more as well.

The two had started drinking before eight and by almost midnight, both were showing signs of drunkenness, with quite a few wine bottles already piled at their feet.

Chloe casually picked one of the bottles and said to Arnold, “Arnold, let’s drink this last bottle. After this one, I reckon we both might be done for.”

Arnold vividly felt the drunkenness creeping up, although he was holding on. But he also knew that after this bottle, he would likely be able to just lay down and sleep.

Of course, since Chloe had made the offer, he would take it up, “Okay, let’s drink this one.”

The red wine was opened again, and they both filled their glasses to the brim. Gazing at the enticing color of the red wine, Chloe couldn’t help but feel that the hue was simply exhilarating…
